AVG seems to think Assassin's Creed III is a trojan

Specifically, the multiplayer executable. I know antivirus programs often flag .exe's from pirated games, but this is a legit UPlay copy downloaded directly from Ubisoft.

Haven't used AVG in years. :/ I personally use Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Windows Defender (MSE), so I can recommend those. (Even though Defender seems to turn off if it detects another anti-viral software activated.)

Its been confirmed that Assassin's Creed 3 multiplayer is scanning for any other games you own, kind of like Origins in the beginning.

Have fun with the legal spyware.
