I was planning on waiting until October to create some spooky horror trains, but then i realised that the end of my summer vacation is more frightening than anything to do with Halloween. all 5 trains are posted, 10 horror or horror-adjacent games within each one. No level restrictions. Each train is locked behind a jigsaw puzzle with art from some of my favorite recent-ish horror movies. I would love to hear suggestions for more horror movies both old and new to watch if anyone has any. I read them all even if I can't respond to everyone. Good luck!!

Bump for solved! Thank you!

Movie recommendations:

  • Barbarian
  • Hereditary (personal favorite horror movie)
  • Knock at the Cabin
  • Midsommar
  • Nope
  • The Popes Exorcist
  • Smile

Bonus: I've heard nothing but good things about the new movie Talk to Me

Ooh yeah I really wanna watch Talk to Me just from seeing the trailer, and it's been very well reviewed.
It thought The Pope's Exorcist was a completely empty bit of fluff, devoid of any artistic merit or horror, but entertaining enough. I was also really disappointed by Nope.
But we're in agreement on Barbarian and Midsommar, the latter of which caused me to revert to sleeping with the light on... for about 2 years now.

I can see the points you make about The Popes Excorcist but I still was entertained enough to enjoy it for the most part.

It is a bummer you didn't like Nope though! I loved it - I have heard that people seem to be very divided into 2 camps on it though and you either love it or hate it.

Thank you for the colourful puzzle! I love the art but not sure what movie it's from lol :D I don't watch many horror movies, when I do I prefer fantasy horror with some kind of creatures or cryptids! Some of my favourite shows have that kind of horror in them: Supernatural, The X-Files, Stranger Things and Doctor Who :) I also really love the Buzzfeed Unsolved series

  • Audition (1999)
  • Martyrs (2008)

quite extreme horror in more ways than just violence/gore, if you can stomach it
I'd also add in Titane (2021), which is not as extreme, but still very visceral body horror

i'm actually on a bit of an extreme horror grind at the moment, going down a list of some New French Extremity movies. Martyrs is really good, would also recommend Frontière(s) and Switchblade Romance/Haute Tension if you haven't seen 'em. A bit trashier and not as good as Martyrs, but both also French and from around the same time.

thank you :) those have been on my watchlist for a while, as well as 'Inside', but the actual amount of movies i get around to watching is limited - been trying to fix that

A person of refined taste!
Audition is probably my favourite horror. I still remember watching it on late night terrestrial TV 20 years ago, and after every ad break they kept giving a warning for disturbing content. After the 3rd repetition of this I was starting to doubt them as it was just a nice calm romantic drama... so far.
Martyrs I watched at a horror film festival marathon. My friend was lightly traumatised. There was one section I found jarring as it's the sort of horror I don't like and didn't seem to make sense in the film, but otherwise very effective stuff that I've never dared watch again.

Titane I didn't enjoy, but I can at least respect. I enjoyed Raw more.

Thanks for the train. I don't watch horror movies, but I follow a channel that recommends it from time to time. A scene from one that stuck with me is Tokyo Gore Police, but it's pretty trashy.

Noooooo! You were the chosen one! You were to bring balance to the jigidis!

Jokes aside, anything below 200 pieces is still well within the very enjoyable spectrum for me, a good image like this one with a lot of detail helps a ton too!

Agree with Doctor Sleep and Get Out, but I hated Hereditary. Garbage, but that is just my opinion, of course.

Haven't seen the other ones. I'll haver to check the streaming channels to see if they are there. :)

It's dark. You hit a bump in the road. You get out of your car to see what it is. There's nothing there. Your car drives away. You hear laughing.
