What was your first Steam Purchase?

i bought a box copy of empire total war, didnt know about steam b4 that, forced me to install and now here i am 100games (or so) later

Left 4 Dead 2, from a friend's 4-pack. Actual purchase, like with a CC and bought off Steam directly, Borderlands GOTY.

Overlord Complete Pack (as a gift from the friends account too).
Though the first game on account was Portal (as it was free for new joiners at that time).

Counter-Strike 1.6/Condition Zero/Deleted Scenes a LONG time ago, costed me about 35€ at the time on a store.
But only activated it years later, don't remember if it was due to only having 56kb/s internet or no connection at all at the time.

My first was Portal 2, though I didn't have a credit card, so i asked a friend to buy it for me and later returned him the money =)

well, so when i registred my steam acount, i got portal 1 for free. about 1 month later i bought saints row 2 at a local shop ( it was a steam download) and then finaly i bought left4dead2 with steam, so l4d2

Hm... My first game was Portal 1 for sure. Got it for free during a promotion.
The first game I ever purchased from the Steam store was Star Wars: KotOR. I got it during a winter sale. This was the only game I ever purchased directly on steam for myself.
I bought only one other game from the Steam store (Crysis 2 - Maximum Edition), but I got that to give it away here.
All my other games on Steam are from bundles, promotions, green man gaming and wins on this site :)
