What was your first Steam Purchase?

I had previously purchased games through GoG.com and refused to go Steam because of DRM concerns. Then a 4chan thread convinced me to buy Recettear on Steam, and convince me that Steam is good DRM.

Saints Row the third it was in the free weekend, kind I like it, and bought it

I bought Left4Dead at a Wal-Mart. At that time I was without internet, and I didn't know about Steam yet. So I put the disc in the drive, tried to install it, and was told that I needed to connect to the internet to get a Steam account and download the game. I was like WTF? I have the disc right here - just let me install the damn thing. So, in my rage, I hooked up my Motorola Razr via USB, connected to the internet on my phone, and downloaded that entire game at 15KB/s. Took like 4 or 5 days. I was so pissed off.

Portal 2, didn't realise there was a Portal bundle, so in my haste I only got that :S

I went first time to Steam to take free Portal 1. Then Portal 2 went on sale so I bought it. Then I became Steam addict. :)

Depends on how you define "Steam Purchase". It would be one of 1.) Portal when it was free (actually what prompted me to sign up for an account) 2.) Humble Indie Bundle V or 3.) POSTAL/POSTAL2 Complete/Binding of Isaac soundtrack which would be "First game" "First purchase" and "First purchase directly through Steam" respectively

Borderlands 4 pack, I technically didn't buy it but I paid a friend the money irl.

I started my Steam account with a retail copy of The Orange Box purchased from NewEgg. First game I bought from Steam was Assassin's Creed 1 about a month later.

Team Fortress 2.

I started with Steam when I bought Half life 2 retail from BestBuy.

my 1st buy was shogun 2, and it doesnt even work on my computer for god knows what reason =D but i said owell and started buyin bundles
