How was the 2015 Summer Sale?
First time Valve didn't want to make money. Why, easy? Because steam didn't encourage everyone to create badges/buy cards, in order to get something like the previous sales (auction/games, special items/create badges to score points for your team.)
They should have done:
-teams
-Create badges to improve your team superweapon to destroy as many monsters. So that the prices of cards rises/people would buy more cards.
-or for each badge you can create a warrior/mage/arger etc to battle those monsters
-afcourse the precious gems should be used to increase the armor/health of the weapon. so that the prices of background/emoticons rises.
-example: the best 3 teams gets a special rewards
-creating a badge, a small reward/special item, and ofcourse the summercard
I did bought many games this year and sold 2 Foils/summercards

The minigame was a bad idea with bad game design, daily community server outage and glitched card drops that took more than a week to fix. Essentially they managed to completely broke what didn't need fixing, the voting system. Not to mention that almost every community goal sale in the minigame was horrible.
The normal daily and flash sales were decent and the indie games also received a non-frontpage large discount, so in that sense the sale was better than the last two.
But seriously. Last year we thought it cannot get worse than that lame summer camp event. Yet it got worse. I dread next year how can they ruin it even more.

I was slightly disappointed, because I am a cheap bastard and all games I currently want were not deeply discounted. The problem is probably that I already have the games I want that were not released in the last few months. But they could have at least given me Ikaruga at 75% off!

I liked and spent more on the GOG sales than I did the steam summer sale.

Bundle pricing has spoiled me--even Steam's sale prices seem high by comparison. But I picked up a few non bundle titles.

Could've been quite a bit better. I was really annoyed before the sale because I didn't have money on my card and only had like $7 in my PayPal acc, but in the end I didn't feel like I missed out much. My most worthy purchase was probably The Stanley Parable, I had been waiting for it to have a bigger discount ever since I heard about it. Still super disappointed that GTA V wasn't on sale, and the Monster game was a wreck. The idea was okay but they really screwed it up when they decided to make it co-op, mostly because of the lag, but also because a bunch of people were just joining games and hoping to get badges off of other people's backs.

Well honestly speaking I was disappointed by this summer sale, There were some great deals indeed but these milestones deals were really terrible. I was also hoping I could get GTA V with a decent price but I was shocked to find a 25% discount on the game with a stupid shark card which I would never even think of buying.

Could have been better. Mostly because the "daily deals" were no real deals.
I crafted all my sets and sold some monster card (I got 2 foils). With the "earnings" I bought How To Survive.
Last night I bought 3 games only to clean an expiring prepaid card with 1.42€ in it (Edna & Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes, Camera Obscura, Revolution Ace).
Nothing from my wishlist. Next time, maybe :)

Bought 31 games and collections, cards and preparing giveaways from 7 additional games.
I think that the previous event sales had better discounts and I've got disappointed by hearing facts that some developers increased the game prices before the event.
However, most of the games I bought were wishlisted and I risked the opportunity, according to their discounts and their resulting price. I've tried not to spend more than ~€10 for each one.
The mini game, I think it was fun at the beginning, but it got boring after 1-2 days plus it was buggy, heavy and it crashed a lot.
I would like to have a 100 mil. badge from it, but by the time I found the way, it was too late.
I also loved the hysteria that got many of my friends in list, trying to level-up

There's plenty of time, I just nabbed my badge this morning. The final launch starts in 20 minutes. You can set everything up in less time than that-- http://steamcommunity.com/groups/MSG2015/discussions/0/598198356199535516/#p1

The Steam Summer sale 2015 was mediocre, the monster game was not that good (exept the soundtrack).
I wasted around 70€ on steam games, the most out of my wishlist cause the presentation/hype and also some recommendations from the community here.
Surprice for me was the Talos Principle with 6.79€ and Homeworld with 12.75€, i feel sad for no Dark Souls 2 66-75% sale, was one of my top wishlisted games.
For GTAV i can understand the no sale, but when i see it bundled with a money card the last minute before the summer sale makes me mad as a customer... No Rockstar, im not going to buy your game now, BUT after 2 years with cheap tactics like yours.
Well the best steam sale for me was the winter 2013, was fun with great games/offers and i wasted around 300€ without mercy :P

Yes EU2, one of the rare games with low price on this region.

The peripheral stuff (monster game, increased flash sale time, etc.) wasn't great, but it seemed to me that the sale prices were a lot better than they were last year. I ended up with nearly thirty games, so I figure this was, overall, a pretty nice sale.

For me, i think it was MUCH better than the winter sale, when i could not buy even a single game (either sucky discounts, either no discounts for the game i wanted). This time, i could actually get a couple of sweet titles i had my eye on for a while.
I'd say a good sale with nice discounts for some of the great AAA titles.

The #1 on my wishlist was released in 2007 (wishlisted since February 2014) but I've never seen a proper discount for it (over 40%). So, I'm quite disappointed by the Summer Sale. Haven't spent a cent.

Honestly, it was meh. I got games that I wouldn't have bought at full-price. I still spent a decent amount.

With little more than 24 hours to go the 2015 Summer Sale draws to a close. What are your thoughts on this years SS? Did you buy a lot of games? Are Valve's sales getting worse? Was the monster minigame fun?
Personally I only bought a few games but they're real gems, however I feel like this sale was rather weak compared to previous years, Valve seems to be putting less effort every year. The monster minigame was interesting but unreliable, I prefer the good old community voting.
Share your thoughts. (Sorry, no potato in the pool)
