I guess people really want to join purple team

It looks to me like a combination of market speculation and simple supply-demand (only 7 of the purple for sale at the moment).

Since the intrinsic value of these tokens is obviously much lower than their current market value, one would bet there's gonna be a pretty steep crash in price soon enough. If you've got one of these tokens, make sure to sell before the crash. :)

Looking at this summer event and with all those crates and capsules in TF2, Dota2 and CS:GO it feels like Steam is slowly turning into a gambling site. It's crazy how much money some people could spend on these stuff.
