Did you register?
so I need to register with the jiggity thingy too or what
plus you should give some people a handicap :p

yeah I was wondering more along the lines of whether I need a jigidi account. The thing about the handicap was kinda a bit of a joke since i'm half blind.

Hi, not sure I should enter as I have zero computer skills. Been registered with Jigidi for ages and did register through your sign in page, but when I solve the jigidi it just gives me the solve time and doesn't show my user name :(. Am obviously missing some crucial step. How do I fix that? or not...am pretty slow so maybe I just solve them each day and forget about the screenshots.
Edit: ok, discovered the leaderboard button which takes me to the relevant page, how do I take a screenshot?

Not sure if you're still having trouble, but just in case, you use your Print Screen function. Then you upload your saved photo to a site like Imgur.

Hello, I use https://testpilot.firefox.com/experiments/page-shot
It's automatically upload the picture too, if you want you can change expired time to forever ^^
Need extra click to get direct link to picture though

Here's another solution step by step
Solve puzzle and click on the "puzzle page" (first image below). If you did it right - there will be your name and your time as shown on the second image. Press PrintScreen button on your keyboard. Go to this site, press CTRL+V. Copy your link (the last picture) and paste it into submission form. Mission accomplished!

Thank you :) Appreciate all the help. Will try with the third jigidi. Just gave Lifedreamer's suggestion a go and it looks like I have submitted two entries for the Latvia jigidi. Am hoping ozo will have a wooden spoon award, think my starting score will be -200 :).

yes, I knew that from your initial explanation...did not realise one of my bumbling attempts to try getting a screen shot was actually submitted. Sorry. Think I have worked out how to actually generate a screenshot now, maybe I will try your event next year once I practice my uploading skills :)

For puzzle 1 (completed yesterday), where should we be uploading the screenshot? Ok, just found the site has been updated now, so I uploaded the time and image proof. How do you know it was completed on the exact date though?
Secondly, I see puzzle 2 on the page now (space cat), but when I click it, it says I have already submitted an entry for this puzzle. I haven't attempted it yet, I just logged in now :-/

Sorry, edited to update that I found that now :-) cheers for the reply though!

No problem. I'm experiencing the exact same problem as you now though. I submitted my entry for the first puzzle earlier. Now I want to submit it for the second puzzle and it's saying I already submitted that too. Strange. D;
Edit: Now the error is "Too late to submit!"
Second Edit: I saw the submission form after refreshing the page a few times, so I inputted the information and hit sent. It sent me to a page with "You already submitted an entry for this puzzle!" I don't recall if there was some "thank you for your submission" or "received" message when I submitted the first puzzle, or anything along those lines. I'm wondering if it actually submitted the second puzzle correctly or if it reverted back to the first error. Too bad you can't view the form after sending it (even if it's grayed out to prevent people from editing it afterwards), just to ensure it was sent correctly.

Well, glad I'm not alone in that problem. It's obviously a site problem.
Which means we get bonus points for pointing out the bug... right Ozo? :-D

Thanks for the update. How do I actually access the puzzle now though? It just shows me the picture, and has the submitting boxes, but there's no link to the actual jigsaw itself

Reading the other comments I am now confused.
I was submitting screenshots from the "You beat the puzzle, here is your time" site. But there is no username to see on that. And I can't take a screenshot from the leaderbord because my times aren't good enough and I didn't find a way to see more then the 10 best. How are we supposed to take screenshots from our time with our name then?
Sorry, but I've been only registered on jigidi for a week.

On the leaderbord page you dont need to be top10. Your name is at the top, your best time is at the bottom.
edit: see his pictures :

Oh there. Well damn. Thanks for your reply.
Ozo, do I get -200 points now? And is that why it didn't count that I solved your past jigidi? Cause damn with so many minus points my I don't think I have any chance. '^^

I'm confused. How to submit the screenshot now? I can't find the form anymore. Nm, didn't realize it logged me out.

I'm so good!
Every puzzle I complete like 200 seconds OVER the time.
Not sure if I'm gaining points or losing points at this rate :^)
Comment has been collapsed.
I knowww but I'll soldier on to my grave probably >:)
Comment has been collapsed.
Nah, 300 seconds over time result in -20 points (and you get at least the 10 points for doing the Jigidi plus maybe the 5 points for doing it on exact date) so you have a total loss of -10 points. Not submitting anything however results in -35 points minimum. So even with such a huge overtime it will be still beneficial. Other than that one good Jigidi can bring you into positive region.

well I guess, just it's really frustrating. I mean there is a clear difference between the 1st and 3rd puzzle or even 2nd, I can't understand how usual people can solve those 2 in time. Maybe you don't really understand my frustration since you solved the 3rd in 4,5 min and my time is 13 min so...

Okay, I understand it is frustrating. But if you look at the top 10 you will notice that those solving these 2 Jigidis in time are less than ... 10 and I assume most who are in time did the puzzle over and over again (I found today easier than the space cat yesterday).
Other than that don't think to hard about it. We have to remember:

Each new one is taking me longer than the previous. I might call it quits.

I have to say, the base times seem very low to me as well, I can't come close to hitting them.

Since a lot of people live in different timezone. The bonus time is given by solving the puzzle between his opening and 24 hours right? The opening for 10th December for example opens for me at 10 December 20:00 and i will submit it near 11 December 20:00 to have 24 hours to improve my time.

Hi ozo2003, may I ask you to un-register me? Missed submit times for first due to busy weekend, I am currently way too slow (considering leaving open instead of submitting doesn't make sense to me), and same day bonus is difficult due to time zone differences (at least at week days).
Thank you nonetheless for the event and and good luck with it!

Miss the first submission.
Any, is it valid with 99% progress and completed time shown in leaderboard?

I missed the beginning (as always xD)
Nice idea - have a bump.
also just solved space cat xD

Hi. I've come up with nice event with great prizes in the end. As you can see from the title, this event will involve jigidi puzzles (24 in total, to be exact). It will be in form of Advent calendar where you will need to solve each day's jigidi in order to get some points. More points -> Better stuff at the end.
To be more fair to people who aren't always online, each weekday puzzle will be running for 3 days and weekend puzzles will be available from friday to monday.
Jigidies will be posted at 8pm gmt+2 each day from 1st December to 24th December.
Help on how to and correct point table has been posted in website's help category
Some points have been calculated, you can see them in your profile.
Points will be awarded/taken away for:
Extra points:
Eligibility:
I've made a website for this event. For now you can only sign in through Steam aka register there. Everything else will be available in next few days, with first jigidi coming tomorrow.
https://advent.source.lv
Now you can see your submissions in profile page. Next stop -> point calculation
If you have any questions, ask below in this thread. DO NOT ADD ME to discuss this event, write everything you want in here. If you already are in my friend's list on Steam, you can write me if you don't want to post here.
For blacklisted people:
If you join and get to Top 24 fastest solvers or Top 24 in most points, I'll remove you from my blacklist if you are not in my DO NOT REMOVE list (10 - 15 users in there)
P.S.
Please Bump This Up
Solving past puzzle now won't get you any points! To get points, you needed to solve it when it was active!
