Hello everybody!
I am in need of some statistics for my school assignment so I would be very grateful if you could give me a minute of your time.
All I need is you to take the one minute typing test and post your acquired WPM (words per minute) count and your AGE whether in text or photo format.

10fastfingers

Thanks in advance!

Edit:I just want to say thank you everyone who participated and posted their results. For now I do not need any further statistics from you guys. Actually I didn't think there would be so many responses, it really meant alot to me, thanks again. Closing for now.

I am 18 years old, English is my third language. I'm a faster at typing in English than either of my native languages, as the QWERTY-layout much favours the English language.

Edit: Probably worth mentioning my record on 10fastfingers is 111wpm on my old keyboard; I'm still getting used to MX Cherry Black switches.

I learned through a week of active training to use 4~5 fingers in total for typing without looking at the keyboard, the fifth being my left thumb to hit spacebar.
It's not very challenging to learn, you just need to actually manually learn it.

Yes, it's one of those skills I should really have, or seek to have and haven't got around to it yet.

I did decide to learn a year or two back and found what looked like a decent learning resource online. It turned out I was too lazy or not patient enough. Think I did about 30 minutes one day, the same the next and then stopped.

It's not something I need in my line of work as such, but who knows what the future holds? Maybe one day I'm out of a job, see an advertisement for a data entry clerk/admin assistant/whatever you want to call it that would bring in a few pennies and can't apply because I can't type quickly or accurately enough. It's something I really should do.

Also, it'd mean posts like this would take less time to type, leaving more time for other stuff! :)

Meh the most important thing is learning the proper beginning positions for your fingers, and what fingers you're supposed to use to hit certain keys. Once you know that, and get used to using more than your two fingers for typing, it's just repetition, repetition, repetition. I say "supposed" because in time, you'll maybe find that using your pinky fingers to hit certain keys just doesn't feel "right", as I experienced, and adapt your typing style accordingly, using your ring or middle fingers for those keys, instead. Many people form their own style of typing over time.

And while using all your fingers to type is certainly always going to be faster in the end, I find you can achieve quite some speed with finger pecking, also, as long as you know the positions of all the keys.

PS: Could you please not capitalize "AGE" in your post? I was unsuccessfully guessing which acronym that might be before just giving up. There are other means of emphasis available.
