Once in a time was GTA, now I really don't know, don't have much time to play so...probably LoL or TF2

There are a few that I guess could qualify. Generally I don't enjoy replaying games unless there's something that makes the experience notably different the second (and third and forth time), unless it's a very short game. A game like Probotector/Contra I could put on and just blast through. Something like Age of Empires II or Majesty the Fantasy Kingdom Sim also deserves a mention as they have randomly generated skirmish maps that work well for quick sessions.
But I think ultimately the title has to go to Europa Universalis IV, with honorable mentions going to Civ VI and Warhammer Total War II.

The Binding of Isaac Rebirth - I just know I can sink many hours playing it even after I get all the achievements
GTA Vice City - my first GTA. It's just too comfy for me.
Fallout New Vegas - I'm gonna replay it till the end of days.

Yes, I love TBoI: Rebirth too, but Repentance made it a bit too hard for me (tainted characters, ugh).
And the same feeling for GTA: Vice City, I played it over and over again as a kid. It was the best game I had back then and a big sentiment remained.

Jacob & Esau and their Tainted versions were an actual nightmare, yes. But now I've got all the marks for them and I can finally enjoy the game once more. I don't think even Tainted Lost will be this much of an issue for me.

I´m gonna define this as "feeling at home in a game". For me there were a lot of games like this, changing with time. Maniac Mansion and Zak MacKracken on C64. Monkey Island and Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny on Amiga. Zelda on SNES. Outcast, Half-Life, System Shock 2, Morrowind, Ragnarok Online and all GTA-games on PC.
But a main stay in this category has always been the Final Fantasy Series. There is rarely a moment in time when I´m not replaying any of the first 10 mainline-games. 6 and 8 are probaply the ones I feel most at home with.
Yakuza has been on my "gotta play"-list for ages... now that the Steam Deck has opened new opportunities to attack my backlog, I´m probaply going to start playing them soon. Would you recommend starting with Zero, or should they be experienced in the order they were released?

I personally recommend Kiwami 1, then 0. From there, just play rest of the series in order from Kiwami 2. Why? So that 0 has proper context and hits harder. 0 is nothing short of magical — but I feel like some of that magic is lost if you're completely unfamiliar with the cast walking into it. Sure, it happens first chronologically, but its number being obviously "before 1" really fits. Its a backstory with its whole theme revolving around "what caused these people we already know to transform into who they eventually became?".
I know a lot of people wiill suggest playing 0 first because it really is a triumph. And there is always the "chronologically no matter what is the only way even if its a lesser experience" crowd that show up to demand every piece of media is consumed in time line order. But I couldn't be happier that I took the 1, 0, 2 recommended order to heart.
I also wonder if I'd be as in love with the series as a whole if I played 0 first. Since 0 is look back into the past after so much has already happened, there are many characters that change completely and are entirely different for the rest of the series, and some wonderful cast members that are never seen again.
For that reason I feel like 0 also makes the rest of the series potentially disappointing if you play it first.
It does open up an entire world of speculation though. Like "what if 0 really had been the start of the series?" It probably would have been even better imo. But since its completely retrospective and was developed years after most entries were released there's no way those characters can appear later. Its a time paradox. :D

I started the series with 0 and would recommend this order. Haedaeso might be also right, but that's up to you tbh.
If I would play Kiwami first and then 0, I would hate one particular character from the beginning of 0, haha. Instead, I appreciated his relationship with one of protagonist.
I know there are people who played it completely out of order and still somehow enjoyed it, but that's senseless imo.

Red dead redemption 2. The game is a masterpiece.
I have to admit though that i also fell in love with yakuza 0 which made me play through all titles in the series, but 0 is the only one i've played more than once. The game is just too good and majima is unforgettable.

Fallout 4 is one that I like to come back to from time to time. I love exploring open world games, and there is a LOT to discover!

The Yakuza series is a favorite of mine as well (what a surprise!). I can confidently say if we ever get the Kazama/Sera/Kashiwagi focused 0 type backstory game I feel should have been made long ago, I'd probably replay it forever.
My top comfort game that I always return to no matter what though, is Tales of Maj'Eyal. I'm closing in on 2k hours now, and I expect to easily get another 2k out of it and then some. I can stop playing it for long periods but will always pick it back up eventually. I love traditional roguelikes, and its my fav of them all. It hits this unique spot of being infinitely deep and engrossing with a never endling list of things to try out, while being very low key, familiar and comfortable to play at the same time.
Probably my fav game of all time, solely from a gameplay perspective.

Honestly, I would play any Yakuza related game now. It's like addiction.
There are also games like Yakuza Kenzan and Ishin that aren't localised and chances for this are slim... what also makes me sad is that we probably won't even get Judgment on PC.

A short hike.
It is a short little game. When I need some time to relax it is always a good choice

For me it's Minecraft and ESO.
Minecraft has that quality of completely engulfing you, making you forget everything else in your life.
Elder Scrolls Online has great stories, awesome locations, and is a beautiful power fantasy in my favorite universe.

Warframe. It's a game I play when I don't know what else to play. Crack a couple of relics, sell some primed mods for plat every few weeks, get a prime warframe through relics whenever is being released, and so on

Any Doom game, especially the 1993 one. With the incredible modding community it has it's basically impossible to run out of new content and I know I can always go back to it without getting bored.

FIFA.
Can play it for hours and hours. Bought it in Feb, and have 328h atm. It's easily my GOAT, especially with how great and jam-packed with shit to do FUT has become in recent years. I also love how familiar but also slightly different each new entry's gameplay is, meaning I don't have a large period to adjust.

And by that I mean a game to which you can come back and enjoy it every time.
I finished the Yakuza series some time ago, but just recetly decided to play Yakuza 0 once again. And that's my "comfort zone" game. I love everything about this title... great, touching story, hilarious substories, enjoyable minigames, awesome fighting styles, Majima ♥
I even learned how to play Mahjong specifically for the completion list in Yakuza 0 and now I really like it, heh!
So, what's your "comfort zone" game?
