Non-binary gamer here. Bump of solidarity I feel the same ambivalence about TDoV since visibility can often also mean violence, but equally it can be the thing that lets someone see a future for themselves. Wishing you safety, excellent games, and the strength to keep fighting.

A bump for visibility. I hope you find more support than hate in your life moving forward. You were never worthless, but be proud of bringing yourself to a point where you can embrace your worth. Thank you for this important thread the the giveaway.

I can't be apolitical because who I am is for some reason politically charged. We're not policy that's going to change your life. We're just people all around you who want to live a peaceful life.
Amen to that, sister. They can't take who you are away from you. And they wouldn't try if you were worthless. Stay safe and keep your head high.

Really sucks to see humanity hasn't evolved to respect one another. Instead we got this constant media consumerism, pegged with stupid old mentality. Traditions and people's feelings shouldn't be confused. One doesn't null the other.
It's sad that others have to suffer/beaten or killed, because our society thinks it's a sin (or whatever).
What kind of humans are these people? What right do they have now to judge others?
Wish you joy in life. F*ck what others think.

Today is Trans day of visibility, which I'm not sure how I feel about. It's supposed to be more positive than trans day of remembrance, but the real world ain't always positive. Being trans is the indirect death to a lot of us. But it's also the reason we're alive.
Being my real self has allowed me to engage with the world. I mean, I'm still crushed by my depression, and suffocated by my anxiety, but now I have a job, girlfriend, and friends (well sorta). I'm not worth much, but I am no longer worthless.
Not hiding who I am is amazing, but it's also fucking dangerous. As free as I now am, I'm also limited by how other perceive me. I can no longer use public restrooms, I've been berated and questioned for trying, and others in my area have been assaulted. Some have been killed for being trans in my area.* I've had to become an activist not out of a sense of purpose or cause, but merely out of self preservation.
I can't be apolitical because who I am is for some reason politically charged. We're not policy that's going to change your life. We're just people all around you who want to live a peaceful life.
I assume all y'all have at least here of transgender people through the news the last few years, but I suggest you actually look at what we actually are.
If anyone has better/more links, please pt them in comment.

*Where I live it's only a handful a year instead of a handful a month like in other places. It's still way too much, and I'm not gonna talk about the places that are even worse because I can't relate to them really. Just thought I should say because of last time.
