Do you even idle, bro?
Well, with ASF working on server (=another machine) there were sometimes problems with vac games, so I stop my account when I plan to play something like this anyway. So, nothing really changes for me.

Never used an idling program so this doesn't affect me in the slightest, but I'm also curious if this means Valve "condones" people idling or if they are just too lazy to do anything.

What typically causes this error?
There are a number of common software conflicts that can cause this error. If you are running any of the following software, please disable it while playing:
CCleaner
Powershell
Sandboxie
Cheat Engine
IObit Start Menu 8
Process Hacker
DLL Injectors
Hypervisors
Steam Idlers
I think the "please disable it while playing" part is clear enough.
However, CCleaner being on that list is quite weird and it shows how reliable their cheat detection system really is not.

Welp, I don't run IObit Start Menu 8 but I do use Classic Shell, Powershell, Sandboxie, and Process Hacker regularly. So now I have to disable all this stuff if I want to play an online game? Shame Steam, I thought your anti-cheat was supposed to be specific and not some poor heuristic. I don't take kindly to people telling me what software I can't use on my own machine.

LOL. I was wondering why You guys are referring to Steam idling softwares and some other (a total of 9, as listed) while I can see just 6 items listed on the page... (without Idle programs for example)
Then I realised I should change language from polish to English. I've done that and now I can see all 9 types of software that could cause problems...
Do I understand it correctly that I can use POLISH idle program without any problems then? LOL

If you are idling for cards you can simply blacklist 730 which is CSGO or whatever VAC games you are playing.

The fall of 0.02cents cards industry is going downnnn.

.... Question of an unenlightened person.... but what's idling software/the point of it?
Comment has been collapsed.
It can't really be used as a bad way - and that only VAC-proof games are affected that means that the idlers likely mess with the files that can be connected to cheats in some ways. Like how the police would look suspiciously if you enter a block full with drug dealers, even if you just visit your (non drug-dealer :) ) grandma there.

ahh, gotcha. But can't you do that without software too?

So Valve can't figure out how to stop hackers and other security issues, and they also cannot figure out how to stop everyday programs like CCleaner and Powershell from being incompatible with their pointless new measures. Great job, guys. This is starting to seem alarmingly accurate:

You will never stop every cheater.Deal with it or quit playing online no system is going to be 100%.Someone once said firewalls are not very secure as the higher you make the wall the taller the ladder they will build to get over it.
Just the same as a locked door only keeps the honest out.Compared to a lot of other anti cheats I think VAC does a pretty good job and GTA V surely could have used that compared to the crap they are using now.
VAC will always be a work in progress and a cat and mouse game just the same as piracy. So no they can not figure out and never will stop all cheaters, not a hacker.Yes VAC has flaws but no anti-cheat is without them some better then others and imo VAC is one of the better ones used despite the cracks in the wall.
Imo Cheater's should never get the credit of being a hacker as they are not actually hacking but merely using a program that changes values in a program to act in a manner that gives them the upper hand.
I do agree with the pointless CCleaner and such could easily be removed from such detection I would assume. Why is it even on the list to start with how are you going to cheat with CCcleaner?I can also see why they would add an idler program to the list.Though maybe they find a way to use CCleaner and pretend to be that to use cheats?

Interesting but not everyone who uses said program uses it for that purpose.Like most DRM it punishes the person using it for legit reason more than the person who does not.

When was I defending them?I was referring to VAC the software not Valve the company. It is like saying if I am not against Windows 10 that I am defending Microsoft.
Thanks for summing up that I defended VAC that I must love Valve.Shows how little you know of me but try and act as if you know how I stand with them just based on Anti-Cheat software.I do not like Valve much but seeing how my other choices are not any better it seems kind of silly to jump one terrible platform for another.

I dont know if it works for CCleaner specifically, but you can do that with other programs, thats all I am gonna say.

From now on you will get VAC warnings and disconnects while playing VAC games if you run famous idling software. It may not VAC ban you, but can render game unplayable for some time. Idle carefully!
