Cheers for the train, DS9 all the way.

The answer is always The Next Generation for me, but Deep Space Nine is a close 2nd. Quark and Garak are probably my two favorite characters in the entire franchise. Some of their back-and-forths are legendary.

Thanks for the train. :)

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think the worst Star Trek is the original series...way too janky, cheesy, poorly shot, and painful to watch with extremely limited topics/stories. TNG, however, is what I consider to be close to perfection (which most of us agree on). The only credit I give Original is that Gene Roddenberry set the foundation for a good universe to tell stories in, but other than that I find it the least-watchable of any Star Trek.

Not trying to piss anyone off, just an opinion, but I do have a question - how did Prodigy end up cancelled/so terrible? I didn't watch it, thought it was targeting a much younger age group, but it didn't look terrible from the trailers...?

TNG is what I grew up with, so that probably skewed my opinion. Haven't watched Picard yet though, weirdly enough.

And I'm surprised Voyager got any votes. Janeway was a great captain, and the characters were great, but that writing... oh, that writing. :(

TOS, because even though its production values are very dated, its politics and philosophy are more interesting than subsequent series, which tended to water down the original concept a good bit. Here's an interesting take on all that if anyone is interested.

I was really disappointed finding out I couldn't watch the rest of season 2 and later seasons of Discovery when the lock down had ended and I wanted to continue watching with a buddy because it was removed from Netflix.
Anyways, TNG is still the best. 🙂

badumpabump.

honestly, for me, lower decks is a nice balance. I struggle to follow the technobabble and dryness of usual trek.
