So, these photos are a tad all over the place, but we are working on it with more storage! Collection is pretty small but I've just started collecting Pop! figures and Pokemon cards! All the tins are pretty much full and in my first pack I got I got a full art GX which was incredible and started my addiction! There are also a few Witcher statues which I need to finish getting!

I won't ask for a weird format or ask you to post giveaways, I just want you to show off your collections big or small!

Steam libraries are DEFINITELY welcome and tell me your best purchases! You should never be ashamed of having the money to buy games to play or +1, what you do with your life is all for yourself and nobody else should judge you. They are probably sad and poor and want to play your games ;)

I've also recently just hit 700 games in my steam library! My favourite purchases would probably be The Witcher 3 because its my favourite game, Rocket League because I met a lot of people and basically got to know Ally through it <333 and Dead by Daylight because I've had a blast streaming it and I've recently just got affiliate and almost at 150 followers on twitch (will not plug my twitch since people will report and suspend me but you can find it on my profile!)

When support brings drama to the thread...

I collect Minerals, fossils, archaeological finds and coins from the Portuguese monarchy (specially the silver ones). But minerals are my mane one, i have easily 4+ tons of rocks in my house :V ( i will start studying geology next year)

I also collect knifes, some guns but don't tell anybody cause its illegal here and of course steam games!

Old pic of a small part of my Mineral collection.

I found most of the minerals/fossils i have, for me the fun is in traveling around the country finding new specimens and new spots, maybe when i get older i can go to other Countries.

And yes, cleaning is a pain in the... :V i had to put a hermetic door in my "museums" this way i only have to clean 1/2 times a year.

I think I will stay with those smaller ones, as I wouldn't have room for any larger. XD

And how old is your collection? If I may ask? ;)

You can always make more room, trust me :V
I started collecting when i was 3/4 years old, I'm 22 now, so around 18 years (but, to be truthful, i only started hunting seriously in my 10's so 10/12 years? :V )

I am amazed! Even more that you have found most of them yourself! O.O You have a beautiful collection! :3
I just buy them or they are gifts. Also I have myself found at the best maybe the Pyrite, we call it "cats gold", and that would be all. X)
I enjoy collecting rocks with nice shapes or structures, but no luck on minerals. ;)

Haha, you are right, but I am collecting even other things so I need to divide the space. ;D

Finding them is the fun part, being in the middle of nowhere just looking at the ground, digging or breaking rocks, or traveling around trying to find new rock formations that could have fossils or minerals in it... its my passion. :V
Pyrites are cool, here in Portugal we call them "Ouro dos tolos" (fools gold) because people would sometimes confuse them with real gold.
Weird looking rocks? i have a stand just for those weirdly shaped rocks (i have one that looks just like a dog or a maybe pig :V )
If i may ask, what more do you collect? :V

Sounds really captivating! :D It must be a great feeling to uncover something - mineral or fossil. My father found some trilobite fossil when he was young, so I still have it. ;) Then bought some more too. X)
I think my rocks are more abstract in their shapes. XD I like the mixture of colors in them .

I collect stamps and postcards. Both separately. Also pocket calendars and tea packaging. Not so shiny like minerals. ;D
It may seem that it doesn't need a lot of room but the opposite is true. :D

Also I love books, comics/manga and they need a lot of space. And of course games, I have few big collectors editions and over hundred physical boxes. X)

Yes, the adrenaline rush of digging out something beautiful/rare is amazing!!! You have to go and try, i totally recommend it, its extraordinary :V at least for me :V
Oh, my father collects stamps, he has all stamps from Portugal, from 1853 to 2004, but now he only collects "pre-philately" (don't really know the word in English) post cards and some letters with rare "stamped stamps" :V I know some people who collect pocket calendars, but tea packaging is new to me :V i tend to just drink the tea :P How is it, do you collect the whole package?
Books are cool, i try to read when i have some spare time, but i mostly only own books about minerals, geology and derivatives...
I would love to have the physical boxes of my games, but funny thing, i only have one :V

Hehe, I can imagine. ;)
That's amazing! sorry that I am reapiting myself I just don't have any other words! O.O I think I don't have such great collection. I need to reorganize it again, now its more likely in a little mess. X) Also I think that I am good philatelist as I collect mostly every stamp I see and some are not collectible or have something wrong and so... its a hobby. :)
Haha, I think that I am confusing you. It's not like I am collecting the actual tea bags, I also drink the tea. :D I collect the paper bags they are stored in individually. ;)
I am very passionate reader, from very young age. :D I am not sure I ever read some book about minerals, maybe some encyclopedia...
Really? Thats surprising. X) I remeber when Steam came first into my view, I sweared that I would never use it. It took me another three years after activating my first game to actually buy something. :D Still prefer to buy physical copy, especially when its something I really want! ;)

OH, the paper bags, i really though you'd have a literal tea collection, that would also be cool :V And i bet you have a cool stamps collection, random question, your stamps also have different types of paper for the same stamp? My father always talks (mostly about 1920/1930 stamps) they have a ton of different papers, some ticker, some more green/blue/purple, some have a different texture some have x and y things, is this normal for you ? :V
I also was a passionate reader (about the topics i liked) when i was younger, but now my free-time goes almost all to the stones, i kinda only read/game when its raining (and some times, even the rain can't stop me from going on a hunt for stones)
Well, i only really started gaming when i went to the 10th grade, before i only played browser games (Tribal Wars and OGame mostly) and an online rpg with my friends, so steam was the first place i bought a game :V
Oh today is CakeDay, Thank you!, Four you as well, have an amazing day :D

Haha, that would be too tempting for me as I really enjoy drinking tea. ;D
Thanks. ;) But I don't think that I have something special in it. X) Well, of course, if the stamp has different paper or ink used or any other abnormalities its good to have it. Even more if it was made that particular way just a few times. There are also some rules as what is suitable to collect... I would need to study it properly, but don't have much time for it... so I am just collecting them for myself. ;)
I don't read as much as I used to, as I am now focusing on games. :D They consume a lot of free time. XD
I started younger I believe. ;D (if I found the right age XD) First played games with my uncle and my friend. Then for a few years I bought magazine with games inside and then directly games from the shop. :D
Thanks for the wishes. ;)
And enjoy summer sale. :D

+1

My most favorite games on Steam are the Orcs Must Die series with 1200+ hours of gaming and over 1 000 000 of Orcs and minions killed in very nice and enjoyable trap and weapon combos. ^^

I hope you both will have a nice and peaceful weekend, my friend! <3

Pokemon cards make me nostalgic. Though most of my collection was energy cards though. I did collect pirates of the Caribbean PocketModels too.

I don't really do standard collecting anymore, I just have a bunch of knick knacks and models with no commanilities besides I like them. Recently I've started adding a lot of weeb shit to it it though, fucking kill me.

I seem to have collected a large number of people who either hate me or have fallen in love with me. The former is on purpose, idk how I got the latter, I think some people feel a lot of sympathy towards me before I annoy the shit out of them. I still gotta get 7 more people to hate me here 'fore I get 300 bl.

The one thing I really wanna collect is pericings tho. But my job only allows earrings :/

Only collected physical items as a kid. They were -

  • interesting empty bottles, mostly from alcohol. didn't last long and was tossed into a container
  • bottlecaps, lasted one summer
  • rocks, lasted couple weeks but was cut short by being ordered to load a cart with my "damn rocks" and dump them on the field from where most of them came :p

I own about 1000 books, fiction and non-fiction. Plus a lot of Artbooks from various games and Anime, and source books for BattleTech and Vampire The Masquerade.
I am an avid player and collector of pretty much everything from DSA (Das Schwarze Auge) The Dark Eye in english speaking countries, a Pen & Paper RPG from Germany. My first things from that are from 1991.

Regarding PC games, I still have about 150 physical games with their boxes and own > 800 on steam / 187 on GOG.

Some friends used to collect stamps, phone cards, TCG cards, but I've always and only collected coins (and maybe videogames, but not really). I always ask friends who go abroad to bring me back some coins of the local currency. I have 2 folders of sorted coins, plus about a box of unsorted stuff D: need to buy some more folders and make some order... and maybe I'll buy some coins I miss to complete some of my favourite sets.

I like UK Pounds because of their different shapes, with the thick 1£ coin being my favourite. Too bad I only own a few variations of it.
But what I like most, are (maybe because I'm Italian huehue) the old Italian Lire. There were so many beautiful coins, L100 and especially L200 and L500 had a wide variety, also because San Marino could issue coins (Vatican City too, but they were so rare up here, I only own a L100 one). See pictures below, coins from Italy and San Marino
I also have some silver coins, they are so nice because they're so large and fat and heavy <3 and a gold coin, but that's in the safe c:

I own several coins from most of European countries. It's nice to see how much nations are different just from their currencies. Too bad now in most of those countries there's that shitty thing called Euro: masked fixed exchange rates, with awful banknotes which only depict windows and bridges (where people usually jump from to kill themselves), and which don't even state what they're made for, and with awful coins (some countries don't even have different pictures on different coins; 1c and 2c coins are too small and, together with 5c, easily get rusty; 1€ and 2€ coins should have been banknotes because they're a lot of money in many countries). Not to mention that commemorative coins are mostly issued in 2€ coins, so collecting them is somewhat expensive.

Ah, I tried collecting coins. I've got a lot from my grandfather, my fave being the round Aussie 50c (because it confuses people the most when I show it -- looks like a mistake), but one day I was bringing home some coloured coins and ended up having to use them for the bus fare.

Realised then that I have no integrity XD

This is gonna be very very random, but I have a whole bunch of coins (mostly Slovenian Tolars, Yugoslavian Dinars and Italian Lire, but also other random stuff) that I have been trying to find a new home unsuccessfully for years. If there is something specific you are looking for I would be more than happy to hand them over.

I don't want you to spend money to send me stuff, nor do I want to give my address to strangers (even if we are neighbours :P ).
That said, I'll tell you what I'm missing, maybe we could meet in the future!

These are the Dinar coins I have (I found the last one in the sea hehe). I should also have a few notes somewhere.

I only have 1, 2 and 5 Tolar coins. I see there are also 10, 20 and 50 Tolar and 10, 20 and 50 Stotin coins! Missing so many! D:

Regarding Lire... I have most of the republican (1946-2001) coins (except silver ones, most of those didn't circulate), I'm only missing some of the first, small denomination coins: 2 Lire (spiga), 2 Lire (olivo), 5 Lire (uva).
I have all other standard republican Lire coins. I'm probably missing San Marino and Vatican coins, let's say I'm generally interested in those (maybe check pictures I posted earlier). I'm interested in Italian silver coins, too (I only own the one you can see in the 500L picture of my first post), but I understand they can be of some value. I'm also interested in Italian coins issued before 1946, since I have very few of them, and they're not really in a good shape.
Speaking about notes, instead, I only own these: 500L, 1000L (Verdi), 1000L (Montessori), 5000L, 10000L and 20000L. I'm missing many, especially higher notes, but the first priority is the 2000 Lire note with Marconi, then any other 1000L notes, then any other note.

Completely understandable! I just thought it was worth mentioning anyways :)

Damn that last one has seen some shit :P I can't even tell what it is supposed to be from the image :D

Taking a quick look (I am not home, so I have to look at the collection I have listed online :D ) I have a 10, 20, another 20 and 50 Dinar you don't. And some of the pare coins as well.

I have a whole collection of the Tolar coins and bills that I will be the only thing I will probably always end up keeping for sentimental value. The stonin ones are probably a tiny bit harder to find (especially the 20 ones with the bee on it) than the normal Tolars since they weren't used for that long. There is also a few commemorative 5 Tolar coins. Take a note Europe with your commemorative coins, 5 Tolars = 0,02€ :P

Somehow I actually have a San Marino one from 1988, go figure where that came from probably San Marino but yea :P. Only got 3 from before 1946 that also also not in good shape either:
10 centesimi 1929
20 centesimi 1941
1 Lira 1922

You just made me realize I do not have a single Lire banknote o.o I guess my mom had them exchanged all to Tolars when you guys got Euros.

It should be a 1 Dinar coin, but I don't know what series it comes from.
So many Dinar coins I'm missing!

Me too, of course, I have a whole bunch of extra Lire coins and some notes. Maybe I would have changed them in Euro, but I found them many years later in some old box or wallet or pocket. But if we met, I would exchange them with some extra Tolars of yours!

That San Marino coin should be the bottom-left coin in my picture and should represent this tower, very nice coin indeed! San Marino coins were somewhat common in Italy, but they were so many of them, I don't have them all.
I own the 10c with the bee (bad shape) and the 20c (good condition) you posted; I miss that 1 Lira, so beautiful <3

I like collecting postcards (I have counted them very long time ago and I had over 3k) and separately post stamps (not sure about the numbers as I have a big mess in them lately and need to reorganize them properly ^^'). Also I collect little pocket calendars and tea packaging.
My big hobby are books, so I have over 1000 of them, separately I am growing my manga collection. :)
Games are my passion too, I like to have physical copy in the boxes (especially collectors edition), still smaller than my steam collection where I hitted 500 not long time ago. ;)
Oh and don't forget artbooks! From games, anime, movies ... doesn't matter. :D

  • Blacklists ^^
  • Games (Duh!)
  • In the last three years I started to build a Blu-Ray Collection
  • Music. Yes, on CDs. Although I hardly buy CDs anymore, to be honest. I started buying CDs when I was 13 or 14 and most of my money as a teenager and young adult went into music
  • Comics. Though only digital. Had quite a big physical collection as a kid/teen up until my mum threw them all away because she thought I was "too old" for them :-/ I moved quite a lot and found it a hassle to transport physical collections like aforementioned CDs or games, so to my own convenience I switched to digital comics. My collection is at Comixology and I am very satisfied

Other than that, no, I don't really collect anything now.

Edit:
Oh, as a kid I collected:

  • He-Man and the Masters of the Universe toys, erm, Action figures :D
  • Lego
  • Amiga games
  • A lot of Pen & Paper stuff (Dark Eye, everything AD&D, Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, everything White Wolf, Cthulhu and so many more)
  • There even was a brief time where I collected stamps and money from other countries. Today I can't grasp what fascinated me so much to collect those.. ^^

As I got older I bought fewer but rarer physical things. I'm quite happy with my Skyrim Library hardcover books or my prized Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) steelbook.
However, I collect a lot of digital stuff beyond my Steam library: ebooks, music software, music tracks, games for emulators/linkers, ...

hmm,
I never really thought of these things as "collections", but now that Im thinking about it - I got bunch of old books from my grandfather, and I have been buying most of the books I read, instead of getting them at library, so I can have them in a shelf as a "collection" of sorts.
Also I love beer and I have several ( maybe 10 or so) beer mugs - different types for different beers, classic beer mugs with something written on them) and I get one if I visit a brewery. While at the beer - I also have somewhere in a drawer beer caps from different beers Ive tasted (one from each type).. Probably nothing much but maybe a start for a collection

Also, we have a huge thrift store in my city and you can find whatever you can imagine there. I go there to check out the place now and then (its almost like a museum of sorts) and once an old Canon camera cought my eye and being a photographer I had to have it. Paid like 5 euros IIRC. It sits behind the glass in my room, I plan to get it working (it still works on old film rolls). Also it has some kind of mercury battery for its electronic metering system (its from 60s), and those are illigal now. Have to figure out how to get it working. So I am quit certain I might get more old photography or film equipment for a sort of collection.

Btw. My mom works in postal office. They recieved a letter from a German fellow IIRC. He had written a letter in english saying he collects postmarks. In the letter he said he wants the postal office to cancel the letter and send it back to return address with our postmarks. And he had sent 5 euros in the letter for the postal office. Thats a serious collector.

I used to collect cards. I have the entire base set of Pokémon. The first set of Yu-Gi-Oh. The first set of Dragonball Z. After those I collected less as the sets came out faster than I had money to buy. I used to also have a massive collection of scooby doo things... Large stuffed animals. Toy cars with scooby doo theme but sadly I had to leave that behind due to circumstances. Stuff like that. Lately I don't collect much outside of games. I like to collect weapons, unlockables, etc in games. Takes up less irl space. Also a lot more fun to collect usually. XD

As a kid (10-12) I collected baseball cards. I'd buy a few packs, open them up, pop the strip of bubble gum in my mouth, and flip through the cards and see if it contained any I didn't have. I didn't buy whole sets and put them on a shelf for a decade. I have almost all of the 1980 season and most of 1981.

From, say, 9-13, I collected AD&D miniatures to play with and sometimes paint (badly). Those I definitely still have.

Other than that, just Magic the Gathering cards circa 1994-1997. I started collecting just after the nick of time to have some nice, valuable cards.
