I used to say Final Fantasy series.. till 12 made me hesitate on the next one.. and 13 came out and well.. It was the first FF game I have not bought, ( rented instead ) and never will buy.
However so far, the Half-Life series has not disappointed me yet. ( Well, besides the fact that its taking them forever to come out with HL2 EP3, and of course subsequently HL3. )
There is also a really old series of games that I still play from time to time called Shining Force. I would include Farcry but I really can not due to I started with Farcry 3 and never played the previous titles in the series.
So far Silent Hill I am ok with, RE went downhill since 4 in my opinion though.
So far Borderlands has been good.
The Elder Scroll series as well :P
Dead Island series. ( Though I am skipping that odd MOBA style one, and going get Dying Light instead. Made by the same people and it honestly looks like it will be basically the same game but with a new engine and so forth. )
Dead Rising series.
Fallout Series.
Masters of Monsters ( Well, at least the Sega version, since most of the Masters of Monsters games have never been released in the US its hard for me to say much about the other ones. Though I did not care for the PS1 version of it. )
STALKER games, too bad we will never see another one now tho :(
Saints Row Series.
GTA Series ( Though I was a little disappointed with 4. Oddly. )
Dungeon Keeper games.
Deus Ex Games.
Heroes of Might and Magic games. ( & Might and Magic games of course )
Starcraft.
Diablo. ( Though I need to take breaks from D3.. as after a while that game gets to me and can not stand the game for a while. )
Warcraft used to be that way.. but then they came out with WoW.. so I would say this only when it comes to the RTS games.
I would say Mass Effect as well as Bioshock but.. I admit I have not played the third one of either series yet.. at some point I will though..
There might be more but I can not think of them right now.

Why would it be odd to be dissapointed with GTA 4 ? The game was boring compared to San Andreas or Vice City or even to GTA 3, the city was boring, missions were aswell and the characters were far from being so stupidly entertaining as those from San Andreas.

I said that mainly due to a lot of people seem to love that game more than the previous titles in the series. Though I do find it is not as good as GTA3,GTA SA, or GTA VC. ( GTA SA and VC being my favorites in the series, though I do like GTA3 a lot as well. )

I could get sick of any series if they start just making the same game with a few tweaks and a new name and releasing it every 6 months, but LoZ hasn't bored me yet and I still look forward to new games in the series, sure it's had its low points but I would still play any of the games again.

Street Fighter/crossovers, Mortal Kombat, GTA, Unreal Tournament, Elder Scrolls, The Darkness, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy (yeah, I know some suck but they'll always make another good one or a remake eventually. Never tired of seeing them).

Most of RPG franchises.
Fallout, TES, Gothic (+Risen), Baldur’s Gate, Might and Magic, Whicher, KotOR.
Spiderweb Software series are cool too though that who choose games based on «taking visuals to the next level» has no chance to love them.
By the way Fallout 3, Gothic 3, Disciples 3 were weakest in their own series, so maybe Valve is right in their fear of this number.

Rockman. After finishing 16 games in the series over the course of my life I'm not tired of it, which is promising.

Will never be bored of the Tropico series and look forward to the fifth one :)
Do have a soft spot for the Sims aswell.
One franchise I can only "dream" of ever seeing again would be Shenmue, damn you Sega for dropping out of the console market lol.
Non pc/steam related series I will continue to enjoy is Harvest Moon, main reason I have all the Nintendo devices it has appeared on along with the PS1/PS2 versions. Oh a PC game of Harvest Moon would be amazing.

I am wondering, are there any game series that you can't get enough of? For me it would be:
Crysis - simply because of taking visuals to the next level.
Far Cry - I love tropical/hot climate, the atmosphere is always great.
Call of Juarez - western all the way!
Series I'm tired of:
Bioshock - the last one was just meh.
FEAR - the last one was mediocre.
Battlefield - a legendary game followed the FIFA rule - a similar game every year. Don't get me wrong, it's still nice, but not that awesome as the very first instalment used to be.
Sam&Max - 1st season was enough, 2nd one was more of the same, 3rd one was a step backwards.
BTW Don't take Valve games into consideration as they can't count to 3, let alone further on :P (edit: yeah, I forgot about CS...)
What are your picks?
