True but you do have a valid point, a new layout could mean a different coding and a chance categories is not a option anymore or maybe even automatically gets sorted. We won't know till the new lay out will arrive I'm afraid.
Either way I did google and pulled a back up of my current sorting now on my external disk, gonne do this every time I sorted a bit more >_>

Hey, if you haven't got it sorted yet, just rightclick on any game and choose Set Category. Now all your categories should pop back, if not just click around and that made them reappear for me.
