The creators of Stories: The Path of Destinies, Spearhead Games are about to release their next ARPG-like adventure/mystery hybrid, Omensight.

Currently, they are running a promotion on the official site. Simply put, wishlist Omensight on Steam, screencap it, and send it to the devs as sort of a group effort.
https://www.omensight.com/wishlist-quest/
Oh yes, the quest runs until official release. It is on 15 May, but the easiest to see that is to open the Steam page, since it should have an hour counter in the last days or so.

Since I know the community here loves freebie games, I should mention that one of the lower goals is sending Steam keys to all participants for Stories: TPoD. Yes, potential to farm some CV with one click of a button, if enough people jump on the bandwagon.
(Since I bought Omensight, I am hoping for the artbook and OST, but hey, whatever it needs to make some people do something. :3)

Edit: Also, if you don't mind risking on the usual pre-order business (as a small-scale studio, the game is almost surely going to be buggy), the game itself is at -20% right now at Humble Store (-28% for Monthly suscribers), meaning it is around 12€. The discount lasts until game launch, too. Sadly, no news yet about a GOG release (Stories is on GOG)Omensight is on GOG too, but they did not put it up before launch. Damn, and I already activated my Steam key. :/

====================

Aaaaand it is over now. Got to 50k+, woohoo! (Free OST! :3)

Gonna jump on?

Yes, because helping such a community event bonds us stronger together as gamers who support the independent gaming industry
Nah, why should I do the bidding of some barely-known indie dev who are lusting for attention?
All I saw was "free game" and I don't care about the rest

Bumpy!

Thanks for the heads up... I tried to like Stories, but the weird camera swirling all around from every which direction made me motion sick. I hope Omensight isn't the same.

I picked up Stories on the Summer Sale last year and had a lot of fun with it. I already had Omensight on my wishlist, but I'll be glad to put in my support for it. I hope it turns out to be another great title.

Make sure to participate so we can reach at least the first goal! The 100k goal would be lovely as well!

Heard about this thing on a German deals site, and saw that lots of my steam friends already had it wishlisted. Guess the 10.000 are already well reached.
I'd call that good marketing.

Frankly, better marketing than many of the small-scale indie devs try. They can be really pushy or downright bribing. This one almost makes me feel like running a super low-key crowdfunding, even if realistically less than 0.01% of those wishlists will ever really play (not even buy, just acquire somehow and play) the game.
Granted, it is pushy on some levels. But I am also greedy and want the rewards. :3

I've already had their "Stories" game on my wishlist and I can't remember why. Probably thanks to a similar promotion thing.

They checked over 8,000 images since yesterday, that's crazy. If they can reach their 100k goal and it's like a really good coupon for Omensight this would seem like a fantastic strategy. Get people talking about your game and ensure a lot of sales to become a top seller.

Wha... ? No one likes free games anymore? It's super-easy to participate and get at least one free game, and it's not like those promos where you have to do a bunch of tasks...

No, people hate free games here, unless they have to follow at least 30 Steam groups, 20 Twitter accounts, and like 500 facebook posts before they get a key that may or may not have been used already.
