Do we need a support ticket creation guidelines section under Help?
I'd go with PeteOzzy's suggestion below, if you haven't already. User reports, unfortunately, seem to take months to process. I currently have 2 open, one of which is over 3 months old and I've still not heard anything back about it, but the couple of new winner requests I've made have been seen to in less than a day.

I had an active unanswered user report for almost 3 years. I closed it by myself when I gave up to wait xD

Thanks.
The fastest way would have been to submit a Request Reroll Ticket for that giveaway when you have a winner with a private profile, mods can check users even when they're set to private and can also scan for multiple profiles.
Ah, so the "Request Reroll" is the appropriate way to check the winner before sending? OK that actually makes sense.
One last thing, it might be worth making which giveaway you are talking about a little more vague as it's pretty easy to check what one you're talking about.
Yeah, I might be a bit too close to "calling out" in my post so I'll remove the details and try to rewrite it.

PeteOzzy knows his stuff, he was a support team member on SG for awhile.

Thanks. It would definitely be neat not to have to make a proper support ticket myself and have everything get looked into :D, though that's not why I created the topic.

Haha! I didn't see the info in the original post, so did a little digging and easily found the accounts OP was talking about. There's no doubt about it, those two accounts are the same person.
Fair play Strifeborb, I never would have thought to look for something like this.
I reported someone once for a private account and asked for a check, but didn't hear back from support before the end of the 7 days. I never even thought that something like this would be happening to be honest, so I ended up closing the report myself and just sending the key on the 7th day. XD

Do you remember if you used a Reroll Request or made a ticket with some other category?

I guess I was in a particularly paranoid mood today.

Nothing wrong with being paranoid, you're actually doing a service to the community by pointing out potential bad apples.
A few months ago, starting from a few suspicious accounts, we, as a community effort, managed to track down a multi-account user who had something like 70+ of them (luckily, it was just a minimal part of their massive bot farm that they managed to register here), and had racked up a considerable amount of loot in the few months they managed to run their "business" before being busted.

I totally agree, no matter if you see an issue as small or otherwise. This site is a community board and its the effort of the community that runs it and maintain it. Therefore, it also requires community effort to uphold and balance the board. The Support and Moderators are members too, they cant be everywhere and cover every aspect.
Sincere Regards, Cheers Cruse~

hello sorry to bother you I would like to know how did you manage to discover such a big multi account? and above all there is no ip check on this site? (having one or two IPs should not be too hard but 70 ...) and how did you organize the stalking? (with the rule that prohibits calling)
in any case well done for you and OP
PS sorry for the bad english (we have to blame google trad)
have a good day
PPS I wanted to ask you that on an old giveaway (because that's what is closest to the PM unfortunately) because I got tired of receiving random blacklists (especially without knowing the reason or even who (which would allow think about it and maybe find out why ^^)) so as long as I have you can I ask you why? (I really do not remember having spoken with you and I never got into one of your gifts (and I am unfortunately very far from the requirements you have ^^)) thank you in advance if you take the time to answer me XD if you want you can answer me on steam (add me I can't add with limited profil)
have a good day

I believe I made a user report.
Haha! No worries. I'm glad you were because it has opened my eyes a little to what goes on, or potentially goes on. =)

Funny thing is: they have kept Furry Stories: Alpha-Male. LOL
Eev, how do you know they kept that??? ๐ ๐ฎ๐ค o_O
I thought you couldn't see a private users library which is the point of this thread and OP's question.

I didn't really snoop around enough to find it lol ๐, you guys got some detective/snooping skills around here lol ๐... Though I didn't even search as I am tired out of my mind and exhausted but had stuff to do still so pulled an all nighter. ๐๐ฉ๐จ
I ultamely layed down on a couch to rest and fell asleep to wake up now.

Definitely go with your suspicions and check - I used to not bother but when I started to bother I started catching people out. Some people will get away with unredeemed wins for years. Private profiles and especially profiles where the games are private are susp. My last one was someone who had one win but had their games privated. l could have given them the benefit of the doubt and just sent the key. I sent a report and they got suspended, so you'd be surprised.

+1 You're definitely right! Although I never had a winner who has a private profile, but my first gw was won by a neg steamrep person who went AFAIK, vanished of SG and wouldn't respond to any contacting. Silly me ended up sending the key on email after failed contacting (as there where no direct send on SG att or way to know if key was revealed/seen) and still don't know if the key was used or not. Support ended up deleting it after 3 Years of waiting feedback.
P.S. I know this is no place for it but do you mind if I ask why I am BL by you? It's just that I went on your profile to add you to my WL because of your Cont & response here and saw, and I don't remember being there before, (although this is the first time I am seeing you on SG). If the reason is personal or smth demeaning pls don't respond or respond on my wall instead/past gw.

Nah, friend, the rule against calling out is there for a good reason. I've seen way too many times a misunderstanding or a bad actor lead to an innocent person getting shunned by a community and unable or unwilling to return even after their innocence had been proven. It's healthier for community overall to use a report system rather than rely on mob justice.
In my case, I went too in-depth on description of suspected infraction, when I actually just wanted advice on how to properly categorize a support ticket, and more general description was more than enough for that.

Suspended
Permanent
lol. I hope this was deserved, because if it's not... would be a shame.
By the way, how did you come up with your assumptions? How did you know that person had other accounts and regifted things? Just curious, in case I ever meet such person.

Well, like you said, I didn't know just assumed. Basically I noticed a giveaway for relatively rare game pop up less than half an hour after the previous one ended, got curious and a little bit suspicious, and took a closer look at winner and the new gifter. Then I noticed that most of the first account's wins showed up in second one's giveaways in the same order, sometimes within an hour of original giveaway ending, and that strengthened my suspicions enough that I was almost sure I was looking at a multi-account. So the user report was the way to go.
Now, since they got suspended, I guess my suspicions were proven right, since, as PeteOzzy said, mods have more powers to check users' profiles. Though honestly I would've preferred if it turned out to be a coincidence and misunderstanding on my part, but at least we caught a bad actor, so we got that goin' for us, which is nice.

I reported them too with different stuff.
It was very obvious a multiaccount and a good catch from you with the regifting.
On top he got 2x blocked at steam from me to prevent to have contact with him in the future. When he want to enter groups, offer trades or such stuff ;o)

A user seems suspicious, perhaps regifting on another account with similar name, both profiles are private, and I'm not sure which support ticket to create. (rewritten to avoid calling out)
I vaguely remember someone mentioning on the forum that you should ask support to check your winner when their profile is private before sending the key, but it's too late for that and even if it wasn't, I'm not sure what kind of ticket is appropriate for that situation - Other or User Report(and which subcategory)?
And what should I do with my current suspicions? Do I go with my biggest assumption and create a User Reportโmulti-account ticket or do I ask support to check if the winner actually activated the game first and, if it turns out they didn't, then escalate to accusations of multi-account usage?
So can you folks give me any advice, share personal experience, etc.?
Oh and here's a little gib for suffering my rambling
EDIT: OK, I've created a ticket with a User ReportโUsing Multiple Accounts category since it's the most serious of my suspicions,
hopefully it will eventually get through the queue, and get addressed properly. And they're gone. Wow, that was lightning fast, thanks, support. Thanks for your advice and comments, everyone. I won't be closing the topic in case anyone else wants to share their thoughts.
