Do not buy a smart phone. You are more likely to be spied on and have personal information stolen from you with one of them so called smart devices.

I had both phones and I can tell you that the S4 is worth it over the S3.

First of all, the build quality is a bit better. The center button is way better.

I, for one, don't like the Note3 because of its large size.

As for the scratch resistance, you can easily check YouTube for videos, there's surely a guy with a knife scratching the sh#t out of the device.

I use AirDroid for the Drag-and-drop-experience-program-thingy-app-INSERT-RANDOM-THINGS. It's incredibly useful.

If it's only a $75 difference, then the S4 is definitely worth the upgrade. I avoided the S3 mostly because I felt the version we got in the States dropped the ball, and nearly bought a Note 2 as a result. But, the S4 pretty much nailed everything I wanted (screen, performance, aftermarket support, camera, expandable storage, physical buttons), so I went with it. As a start, though, there's a ton of bloatware that comes with the stock ROM, so I highly suggest rooting it and installing something new.

For your questions:

-You can drag and drop files, though it isn't as nice as it used to be. Before you could mount your SD card like you would mount a flash drive. Now, Windows sees it as a media device, so you can still drag and drop, but it's quite a bit slower. Whenever I do large transfers, I just copy directly to the SD card with an SD reader.

-Music while playing a game can be done. Don't think I've ever had an issue where that didn't work.

-This is tough. If I'm using the phone moderately, it will last a whole day (well, from when I wake up to when I go to bed) with about 20% remaining. This is with an hour of talking, lots of streaming, lots of web browsing, Bluetooth constantly running to a wireless headset, some document editing, all switching between WiFi and HSPA+. If it's lighter usage, I can still have 50-60% left at the end of the day. Now, when the phone has both Pandora and Torque (an OBD app which reads data off your car's ECU through a Bluetooth adapter) running side by side (that means both on the screen next to each other) with GPS navigation running in the background and is paired to the car's stereo for audio while occasionally receiving a call, the battery will be toast in about 2-3 hours. So, it's all about the usage, but the battery life is definitely better than my previous Android phones (no match for my old BlackBerry, though, but then again, nothing is).

-In theory the screen is very scratch resistant. But I didn't want to take that risk, so I bought a high quality screen protector that doesn't have much of an effect on the screen's quality. Still a slight effect, but not too bad. Fingerprints are pretty bad, though.

-A case with an extra battery might not be a bad idea, though I've never really needed such a thing. I like my cases to add a little bulk while protecting the phone and offering a kickstand, so I have a Minisuit (took me forever to discover it).

As for a good forum, XDA is where I stick. You'll find that there's a lot of neat stuff you can do with your phone there. :D
