This is interesting. I have probably close to 400 games (including gog/uplay/origin) and i only completed 1 so far (I play mostly multiplayer). Want to start finally playing through them.

Its alright. Thanks :) I planned to work on my backlog when i still had less than 50 games. Gotta get started before i hit 1k or else it might be too late

This looks like the perfect chance to get organized and get an overview of the games i have to tackle and hopefully i'll end up actually working on the backlog (planning and doing are so different xD). Gotta start somewhere, so i'd like to join :D
The Website looks awesome btw! Is it okay to only be active on the website?

added, sorry it took a while

Comment has been collapsed.

it is nice group i want to join but my final exams are coming when i finished i want to finish games

Woah, this looks like a really cool idea.
When I joined Steam, I never knew I would amass so many games. But it's like I'm building an empire here.
I'm always careful about only adding games that I would really want to play. (I have a friend who would pick up any game that he's getting for free no matter if it's crap.) Yet I've made up quite a pile of unplayed games. Not as big as some other players. Agreed. But a pile nonetheless.
I would love to be a part of this website and the group if it helps purge the pile!

Decisions... Decisions... Would also like to join, but I don't know how active I would be as I'm quite busy a lot of the time. That being said I only really started using Steam last Christmas & in that time I've amassed over 350 games in my library since; which is over double what I collected over 4 years for the xbox 360. Why are PC games so damn cheap? Why did they have to invent bloody bundles? Argh! :shakebloodyshark:
Anyway, I've finished maybe 20 of the games in my library so far. Some I will never play (free games I added simply to idle for trading cards for free digital money to buy other digital goodies with) & then some are multi-player only. By the way does one simply have to finish the main story-line to count as completed or do they have to 100% complete a game (all achievements, side quests, collectables, etc)?

Added :) My library exploded after I found this site, and all those bundle sites XD
You don't have to do anything for games to count as something, you're the one sorting the games into categories. If it's complete in your opinion, mark it as complete. If there's still stuff to do, mark it as beaten or unfinished.

Nice one. :)
Completed to me is at least beating the main story-line. Sometimes games such as Batman, Mad Max, Fallout & Skyrim, etc just go overboard with side quests/missions & collectables to the point that it takes someone with a steel will & a bucket load of patience to fully complete them.

Officially expressing my interest :-)
I've probably not been active enough to enter giveaways, but I'm fine with that, more interested in the website itself and working through my backlog.

???
I'm pretty sure there are sites for this (someone posted a link in their profile, but I forgot who ... it was called completionist or something, but the thing google showed me looks different), but if you want to share & track that progress on our site (which you don't even use?), you could make (a) post(s) with your list(s) and link it/them in your profile for easy access ... I'm pretty sure this is in mandrill's suggestion box, but it's not a priority afaik (especially since a) we're still closely SG related (not accepting members from outside of SG), and b) you can't get your console game collection automatically up onto the site - I don't know how it works with Origin etc., but I seeng as everyone uses the site with their Steam login now, that might lead to multiple logins?)
As for exports ... what exactly do you mean? The site just reads what's in your library, and you do some sorting. You can make the same types of lists + categories within your Steam library, it just doesn't look as fancy ...
Edit to add to the point about making a post for non-Steam games - several people include their non-Steam progress in their updates as well, some even add reviews/recommendations of books & tv shows to their backlog-clearing posts, since that can be part of a backlog as well (there are other sites to sort those, though)

Difficult to find a place on the actual BLAEO website to write this without hijacking someone's activity post - I get the general embedding of images, bold text etc functions on the site, but how do people create columns/align text etc. It's not all done using Markdown is it? Is it html/CSS?
I'm sure there will be lots of face palms from anyone with a basic level of coding, but I'm lacking in that department!

html - there are some templates in Akantha's profile ;)
And I don't think anyone minds if you ask in their posts how they did something :)

Sweet. Thanks for the pointer. I'll have a look. Felt like my first post was a bit messy, so hoping to tidy things up a bit.

I'm trying to play beat more games. Can I join? Also is this only for steam games or do you guys allow people to keep track of non Steam games as well?

After some ground-breaking new website features implemented by mandrill, BLAEO is accepting member applications again! :D
But instead of being invited to the Steam group directly, you will be given access to our website after applying in this thread. Just set up your profile there and be active if you want to, and we'll eventually invite you to the Steam group. Right now the Steam group is mainly used for syncs with SG and group giveaways on here (and reminder announcements for various things), so you're not missing much if you don't get invited right away ;) And just to clarify, the website is basically the group, the Steam group is pretty much just a bonus ;)
Thanks to this new feature, we can now proudly announce that there are no requirements to join (not that we really had any before), simply let us know you're interested here :)
Once you're in the Steam group though, you're only allowed to enter group giveaways if you've been active (we won't post our requirements/definition of "active" so people can't abuse that information).
So, in conclusion, post here to gain full access to the BLAEO website and then add mandrill to your whitelist :P
Please do not add group admins/mods or post to their Steam profiles to get an invite, you'll get added to the site much faster if you just reply in this thread
PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST TO JOIN THE GROUP WITHOUT HAVING BEEN ADDED TO THE WEBSITE! Request to be added to the website in this thread first!
If you don't know where to start on the site, read this guide, and/or this guide. Extra info on image formatting.
If you don't want to miss any announcements, subscribe to these group threads (works for everyone):

FAQ (under construction)
I just joined, and the site isn't showing achievements for my games. Help?
The site starts compiling everything starting with your first login, so if you just used it for the first time, just wait a few hours. Same with new achievements and game additions, just give it some time.
How do I post on the site?
Read this getting started guide, and/or this guide.
How do I get into the Steam group?
We add everyone who applies in this thread to the users of our website, meaning after you login there with your Steam account for the first time, you can use it as a regular member.
Steam changed how groups manage new members and we can no longer invite people we aren't already friends with. So after you're added to the website and have been using it for a while, request an invite to the Steam group if you want to join. We'll review your request and accept it if you have indeed been active on the site (for at least 10 days, but depending on frequency and extent of activity, might be several weeks until you get an invite).
PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST TO JOIN THE GROUP WITHOUT HAVING BEEN ADDED TO THE WEBSITE! Request to be added to the website in this thread first!
I applied in this post and didn't get invited to the Steam group.
See above.
What are the benefits of being in the Steam group?
You get to
post on the forums and* join giveaways that are shared with the group here on SG! But remember that we're not a giveaway group and there aren't many running giveaways at any given time, so you're really not missing much if you're not in the Steam group.*the forums are open to everyone now, no need to join the Steam group
Why did I get kicked from the Steam group?
There's really only one rule: Don't join group exclusive giveaways (i.e. not shared with any other groups or the whitelist) if you haven't been active on the site for a while. A "while" can be anything between 14 days and over a month, depending on your usual activity (e.g. members with huge monthly posts won't get kicked for joining a group exclusive GA 4 weeks after their last post, but someone with who usually posts short updates like "I finished this game, it was fine" every few days and hasn't posted in over 2 weeks might get the boot - this is examined on a case by case basis, any kinds of posts are fine, just be aware of this when you want to enter a group exclusive giveaway AND stay in the Steam group).
I got kicked out of the Steam group, can I still use the website?
Yes! You can use it just like before, nothing changes for you in that regard.
I left the Steam group. Does that affect site usage in any way?
No, but please let us know about it, especially if you don't want to get invited back into the Steam group, so we can make a note of it and don't spam you with invites when you're active on the site.
