Not sure how it looks in your country, but in poland male life expectancy = 75 and female = 82 years.
So 40 for you would be middle age while it won't be yet for your wife xD So technically - you both might be right xD

40 is Middle Age. A lot of people don't even reach their pension. At this age you really feel the wear and tear on your body, some things just aren't possible any more, like running/jogging. Depends on your previous work/lifestyle of course.

Happy Birthday! I am hitting the same milestone in a couple of months. My wife is a few years younger than me so she's always teasing me about how old I am and asking what I did for fun back in the 1920's. :P
