I mean, it isn't maybe a big deal, but i hate the way that the company want to promote his own game (which by the way looks awful) using clone accounts to review their game.

Come on, lvl 0 on the three accounts that review the game, only 1 review, no avatar, private profile and nick with letters and number.

These devs are the kind of people with ruined greenlight, when other games are much better and they dont come out or they aren't as popular as they should be.

After reading some of the comments the dev made on the review of the review, I can deduce that his reaction towards the criticism is probably like that: "Lalalala can't hear you!!! Lalalala This is the best game cuz' I'm obivously the best!!! Lalalala!!!", a.k.a. typical immature kid reaction.

Honestly i felt sorry for the dev when i read his post about death threats and such but after his little stunt with Jim "FUCKING" Sterling's video i'm ashamed he managed to fool me. This guy has a serious case of "foot in mouth" disease and should just remove his crappy game from steam and crawl back under his rock.

For a few quality games, yes.
For many not so high quality or "bad" but honest games/developers, yes...

Unfortunately there are devs like this as well.

After a small talk I had with the developer's brother (They are two developers).

  1. Steam didn't let them release the game at early access.
  2. They are just 2 brothers developing games.
  3. They will provide everyone with keys but at the moment, they are trying to contact WhosGamingNow to make them a page for people to redeem the keys.
  4. The other brother I talked to was really friendly and they do work hard on their games. They are trying to make a new look for Forsaken (can be seen on the store page's first screenshot).

Don't blame them about the game not being in Early Access. They tried putting it there but Steam didn't accept it as Early Access.

He also admitted that this game was rushed but he is willing to make a complete makeover just for the community.

And what about ppl unfairly banned/kicked from the group? The minimum I would expect from them is an official apology and unbanning ppl whose thread were not douchebaggy who dared to ask sthg in a polite way
Also how are they exactly planning to distribute the keys
What comes about distributing the keys through WGN: im personally not a huge fan of having the community name associated with them but thats my personal opinion since im in no position to decide what game should be among the official giveaways, the last word is at Carl obviously

Also how are they planning to give keys to voters when they suddenly kicked many ppl out of the group in spite (and joining the group was one of the condition to get the game, mind you)

Anyway what Im saying is that they need to act not just speaking if they want to win back the sympathy if the community because what they did is laughable at best.

I didn't ask about that but I will. Why not? They want to fix their mistakes.

Well as long as they truly mean to fix what happened, Im ready to believe them.
Btw im in contact with Carl as well as the other admins so I may be able to help speeding things up from that regard

But none of that justifies why they are being completely childish. Fake reviews, flaming reviewers, banning people for voicing their opinion, kicking people from the group (myself included) for no reason and so on. I wish Valve would institute a zero tolerance policy for this type of behavior, we really don't need these types of developers around.

I think we already got that. Continuing the public inquisition however wont make any change though, what needed to be said was already said I think.
If they want to make things better: let them do it, they will have a rough ride with it though

Well, the brother I talked to was really friendly and has nothing to do with this.

maybe he is. but being friendly is not a fact you can prove. but on the other hand my list is consisted of facts with their proofs (except the fourth one. check game hub if you didn't see it yet.). so deal with it (if you're already cool with it, ignore this comment because that means this comment is just for Zetikla.). those devs don't deserve pity. there are some lines you can't cross.

I never said they deserve pity. All im saying is that there are other solutions than witch hunting.

this is not witch hunting. they're standing plain in the open. the mistakes they made are not poor decisions or little mistakes that can be forgived. it needs some effort for that jim sterling video. it doesn't happen with a poor judgement for a second or a misclick. and you need to decide to steal artwork from people to... well... steal their artwork. these things don't just happen. those people are dishonest and they're such a disgrace for all indie developers.

okay, so you say that they have no right to even at least TRY and make up for it?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

no imho. but i can reconsider if they unban all people that they banned without stating any good reason in a week -starting from the release date- tops.

edit: while i'm here after 16 days, gotta note that they didn't unban people. so fuck them. they can't do shit to make things right. not now, not ever.

thats what i would realistically expect them to do so myself if they truly mean to make up for this shitstorm

Damage control? A bit late and by the wrong person I'd say. The 'amazing artist' that created that edited Sterling video and most likely wrote the fake/deleted negative reviews should step up and apologize. Might not help much, but this is the most pathetic way to deal with it. Please tell that to his 'friendly brother'.
