Nice, I really need a new one aswell. Or rather, a whole new rig. I'm saving money for it at the moment and I hope I can afford a new one soon. Also, some of your letters seem to be broken.

Awesome choice, and a very nice upgrade! Got an EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 myself. :)
Previous card was an ASUS GTX 750 Ti, and the one before that was an ASUS HD 6870.

I have a HD6870 like you used to, and I'd like to upgrade before the end of this year. It's getting to the point where it can't even run new games at all.
So, with a GTX 970, can you get 60FPS on any game (except poorly optimised ones) with maxed settings @ 1080p ?

Haven't had time to test many games but, not really, many games have some very demanding stuff, that destroys performance.
If you want max everything always, you'd be looking at those top end stuff (980 Ti etc.), but I don't think max settings are worth chasing.
I'll rather upgrade again sooner. (I said same when getting HD6870 tho)

Post solution at end pls.

Yep. Gsync is awesome. I can now finally play my games in border less fullscreen mode at same speed as full screen mode. Previously there were noticable stutters. And of course I get to leave gsync off which makes things a lot smoother in any mode.

Mine is still a Radeon 4670... Mobility! But soon I'll be modern! I guess...

I had the y,Q,I,S and no idea about the 5th letter (still would not, I do not have the game). So I brute forced every possible yQIS?, yQ?IS, ?yQIS variants, then tried with QySI?, Qy?SI, ?QySI, then swapped S and Q for all, because what if I was wrong about their order. Trying to mix the order inside the two pairs did not really come as a natural idea. Also while I automated the generation and tab opening process pretty well, I still glanced at every one of them.

390 is not really good for 4k actually. There is no card out there that would convince me it's enough for 4k. It's probably good for 1400p I think. at 4k you might be hard pressed to maintain 60fps in a lot of modern games, let alone higher FPS.

Damn nice card. Really am glad I got my 980 for cheap since a 970 comes pretty close to it I'd have felt ripped off otherwise. Your CPU being better helps a lot too. Wish I wouldn't have to change mobos to upgrade, but I'm fine with what I have for now.

I haven't been trying for hours. I didn't find any old giveaways like you guys, so I guess I was going down the wrong path anyway. I'll just come back tomorrow to see the solution and get angry at myself.

Do you mean they were wrong to look for a giveaway code ?

Finallygot me new GPU :)
Went with Asus Strix GTX 970, for around 360€. Not exactly cheap, but still somewhat reasonable.

Now let's pay small respects for old GPU which served for 4.5 years.
