Congrats on the upgrade. It's always a nice feeling to keep pace with the current 'surf point' of technology for gaming, even if your wallet might grump at it.
Currently using a GTX 770 (4gb), and due to the unpredictable nature of the hardware oceans, buying a second one to double up would be dumb. The GTX 970 costs only £10 or so extra. Gotta love our wonderful PC master race sometimes, right? :P

Congrats, although it´s time for me to upgrade too ( mine is about 5a old ), I will wait for Pascal and new cards with HBM.

Bump for solved but perrolijo had already been there!

The GTX 970 is a good pick (performance/efficiency) - and will be the last gpu for a mere 1080p (with or without 3D) thats for sure; going to stick for 1080p with my R9 270x 2GB. Acquired it twice very cheap just when it released for 150€ Gigabyte (new from ze store) one for my bro. and a Sapphire 96€ 2nd time on ebay for myself (upgraded from a GTX260/HD7770)
R9 270x 2GB DDR5 manage roughly ~5500 in Firestrike thats what i remember at least

Solution:
giveaway code was hidden in post or in links:
y (link, first line)
S (benchmark)
Q (benchmark)
I (link, third line)
f (last line, reference to "press F to pay respects" in CoD:AW or just bruteforce as some did ;))
I'm kinda surprised at lack of solvers, last was very tricky but also easy to bruteforce :P

Did you make the false GA codes look like hex values on purpose ? Did you post a comment on your GA to make us think we had to use this comment to go to the giveaway ?
If yes, that worked very well on me, I was trying to find a 7 letters code with those hex values (for example encoding in Base64, that gave a 7 letters string)

haha no need to defend yourself.. Personally I have no problem only a few solved :-)
It turns out I was pretty close.. I tried "ySQI3" 3 because that was the only character both in "d3ad" and "b3ef".... I also tried "ySQIe" because the 3 stands for an e, but that didn't work either.. then I tried bruteforcing a lot of things, but somehow I didn't bruteforece anything starting with "ySQI" because by then I was convinced it'd start with "yI" because of the 1 and the 2 in the hidden link code... ;-)

^ if thats the link it doesn't work ... +
what i don't get, there's no s except in strike but q ?
^ of which neither are highlighted
"S (benchmark)
Q (benchmark)"
way to arbitrary, thought it was the 1st link + paste y at the end or beginning :D
... doubt there were entrants without brute-force or other site exploits
(didn't even see the I in Fire)

Last slash is needed
It's in benchmark description, under name: http://imgur.com/ymHe2yv

ooh, here's the last piece I was missing! thanks for posting :)
Actually my solution was QSy2I because Q and S are labeled as 1 and 2 and I assumed it was their position. And since I was missing a char I dropped that "deadly beef" and used that "2", but I knew it was not right 'cause I was keeping the letter "y" too. But I've never played CoD so completely missed that.

I've converted 'hex' in links to dec, got 867025 and 737010. 86 is V in dec-ASCII, 70 is F, 73 is I. Then you posted a comment "Next hint in 209650 nanoseconds!" 209650 is less than a second, so I thought that this comment is the hint. 50 is "2" in dec-ASCII, so I thought that the giveaway code is something like VFIF2 but in different cases for letters (this correlates with mentioning of "some bruteforce"). And then I saw a comment with a link with "#iSwearIdidn't" ending, which I interpreteted as a hint to case of letters (normally, you don't start a sentence with a smaller letter and then use capital in second word), so the final giveaway code might be something like vFif2, which is obviously not right.
Am I crazy? >_<

Congrats!
I see you had an HD 6870. I also have one and intended to change it in the near future (for the time being an gtx 970). So I got some question for you:
Thank!

Yeah, it's big overall improvement (I had stock model too) in performance and sound levels (I chose Asus Strix because of it's 0dB idle fans by default)
Even in older games it's still improvement, Far Cry 3 is way smoother (less frametime spikes) than with HD6870.
I'd wait for Skylake + DDR4. i7 920 isn't that bad for games.

What about an i5-2500k ? No need to change it when I'll get a new GPU ? And if I dont change it, should I look into overclocking, or it wouldn't make a big difference for playing ?

Is the i5-2500k not better than my i7 920?
Edit: After verification, i5-2500k is better than i7 920 at least on application which doesn't make use of the additional units (ie game mainly)

Thank for your answer, I intend to change in about 2 months so I will indeed wait for Skylake.
Will probably also wait for some DX12 benchmark to see if CPU utilization is better.

Finallygot me new GPU :)
Went with Asus Strix GTX 970, for around 360€. Not exactly cheap, but still somewhat reasonable.

Now let's pay small respects for old GPU which served for 4.5 years.
Bonus added!
