I find this LQBTQRUTHRBVRBSAS quite annoying and disgusting to be honest.
Here if they go to the street usually there's some shitty techno music, but that's not my main problem. The main problem is they go out in pants, and imitating sex, or even sometimes wearing sex outfits.
If I would go out on any normal day dressing like that (or not dressing) I would spend the next 72 hours at the local police station thinking how I should behave on the street. And on the top of that if I would dress and behave like them on any normal day, within 3 hours I would be in front of the judge, trying to explain why it won't happen again, and why I shouldn't spend the next month in lockup. They go out to the streets behaving like adult men under no circumstances should, yet they are surprised people throw eggs at them. I don't really care about things that you do at home, but if you go out to the street you adapt to the majority, not the other way around. This attitude of the vast majority should adapt to the small minority is out of hand.
Hypocrisy is so hard in these social justice movements, I feel like if I am not part of the certain group, I am a fucker/racist/bigot etc.
And yes as it is mentioned in the main topic, "where's straight pride month"? Straight people don't deserve that to be proud or something? The fact that you even mention that "Avoid looking dumb by not saying that. π" means that you are trying to promote accepting people with different behaviours by not accepting that group which does not agree with you. So it is basically silencing others who do not agree with you.
And last, what oppression? In this 21st social justice century wolrd, it seems every minority is "opressed", yet they can't prove it, but anyone who questions it is racist. What a nice world we live in.
Opression was when in 1956 Hungary tried to get rid of Soviet occupation, they sent 31 000 soldiers (and 1130 tanks) against freedom fighters. And at the end killing around 3 000, seriously injuring 13 000 and later 230 executed. And from that day anyone who disagreed with the system got imprisioned, sent to death camps, deported, or publicly executied until 1989. This was opression.
That thing, that I'm a bored arts student who has nothing useful to do at the weekend so I go out butt naked annoying normal people, because I think and I read on tumblr that different people are opressed and need to break free, has nothing to do with opression. And nothing to do with breaking free.

Hey, don't you go ahead and make fun of LGBTQUYISHAOPGNHS-people! It is called being a bigot and will get you banned on this world open forum! π‘

If it's sarcastic don't read forward. It's past midnight, so I am slow.
If people get banned because of different opinios on certain topics that is basically silencing other people. What I find interesting that all these social justice people who fight for equality, acceptance, don't accept people with different opinions. So it is like "you can say anything you want as long as it is exactly the same that we want to hear". Basically communism and fascism.
Also quite strange that all these social justice groups when protest on the streets, they are never peaceful. They usually go out full battlegear, and if someone disagrees gets beaten.

so, how many cases can you find online of people attacked or killed for being heterosexual?
compare those numbers to the amount of incidents vs members of the LGBT community.
there's your proof. that also covers the "straight pride" you can't understand (so hard to read what i posted or google the definition behind it).
the day LGBT people can walk and do anything heterosexuals do (in public with their couples, dress as they please, etc.), we won't need a pride month any more.

I don't know I've never seen news or anything in Hungary regarding gay people being seriously injured or killed because of gender identity. What truely happens if you provoke people, that will have consequences, which in this case is egg throwing. But I hardly doubt that will fit into the killed category.
And claiming it is a real problem, its hardly believable. There are real groups who are really in need of public support, yet they don't receive it. In Hungary at the capital, on average every week a public transport vehicle driver gets attacked and beaten. Yet noone goes to the street to march to show the respect, or encourage them. Nobody gives a single shit about them. They don't fit into this stupid-colour haired SJW fat world.
Also one question. If it is about making people accepting other different people. Why is it about provoking normal people? Why everyone is butt naked? Why noone dresses like a normal person?
Why a pink hitler shows middle finger to the state leaders? If they are about to show that acceptance should be two sided. Why the current governmental leaders are being harrased there? Why there's a pink hitler showing middle finger to the people, where millions died in WW2?

By the way one thing that you don't know.
My nation is the only one in the world that shares borders with itself. Two thirds of its territory got given after WW1 to surrounding nations on all sides. Millions found them under a control of a nation that was strongly against them. If they didnt adapt they got into serious trouble. Like execution, imprisonment etc.
Even in 2018 drastic things happen with hungarians outside the border. Last year my friend's arm got broken for speaking hungarian in front of a club. Few months ago my car's mirror got broken at the parkingnspot, cuz it had a hungarian numberplate. Old hungarian statues, buildings got sprayed constantly, in 2018.
Does the EU help? No. Do.civil groups help? No. Does anybody give a shit about the people who got stuck outside the homeland and are really being oprssed? No.
And you are telling me LGBTQ community is being attacked and killed? I didnt find a single case about it here. Do your ressarch and look how many hungarians got harrassed, attacked, and even killed in the last 10 years just because they stood for their identity.
Thesd stupid made up problems are diverting the attention from groups who.are.really being oprssed. And that is disgusting.

I was curious about this after you mentioned it, so I did some digging!
Hungary certainly doesn't turn up as many results for hate crime as America or other countries, at least not in English. The first known case of conviction for anti-LGBTQ hate crime appears to have been in 2014, in which the victim was stabbed 20 times (eek). There was also this journal article about hate crime that mentioned numerous violent attacks during Pride, but it doesn't mention if people were killed or not.

Our criminal law has a long and controversial history. If we are only looking at the modern times, technically two acts come in place. 1978. IV. act and it's successor the 2012. C. act.
The new one which became in effect at the 1st of 2013 is pretty similar to it's original one. The 1978 one, was obviously created in the communist times, but in 1989 we had a system change so a lot of laws and acts had to change as well. Because during the communist times lot of people got persecuted, the 1978 IV act the criminal code got very harsh sections against hate crime. And the same thing got lifted to the new criminal code.
Just a few short examples about the sanctions from the 1978 one (with the '89 change):

Just because you don't hear about the problems certain groups have isn't proof those problems are non-existent.

You obviously have your mind already made up, but really think about it- what harm are any of these people doing if they want to dress like it is a carnival? Does it personally affect you in any sort of way?
Celebrations typically are 'over-the-top'. Personally, I am not a fan of kilts but I'm not going to be offended at the St. Patrick's Day parade by them.
Where is the harm in peacefully promoting equality?
Comment has been collapsed.
Many LGBT+ people lack privilege (such as keeping their life intact) in many countries all over the world.
LGBT+ people are able to find unity and voice their opinions relatively safely in these parade events and such and find comfort in a world where they have to suffer just to keep their identity.
Read up on news, bud. Oppression occurs every day; gay and trans people get executed in many ME countries.
Please get out of your bubble.

+1 totally agree with you. here a while back they staged the nativity scene in lgbt version. needless to say it caused massive outrage, as expected. they dont seek recognition, acceptance, respect, or rights - hell, in the western block they more or less already have all the rights any private citizen has (cant really say the same about duties as public decorum for them seems more like an optional). they voluntarily make themself obnoxious and despicable just for the spree, they are not interested in anything else.
Opression was when in 1956 Hungary tried to get rid of Soviet occupation, they sent 31 000 soldiers (and 1130 tanks) against freedom fighters.
gotta take the opportunity to post this beautiful italian song on this matter, here sung in bilingual. you might know it.

Residing in a quite educated, broad-minded left bubble, sometimes I am tempted to think that such parades do more harm than good to queer people. Being gay is nothing special, it's completely normal and just as boring as being straight. Everyone knows and accepts that, right?
Right?!
...Well, and then I read discussions on sites like SG or something like this.
Obviously LGBTQ pride is NOT yet superfluous, not unlike feminism. We've still got a long way to go until people are really free to do as they wish and some idiots who are on a self-prescribed diet stop wanting to forbid everyone else their cookies, even though it's sad and ludicrous that society isn't a bit more advanced in 2018. Maybe we'll never get there due to the self-righteousness of human nature. But we can try, so keep on parading!

In most western nations companies have the right to serve anyone they wish, and deny serving to people they don't want to.
For example, if you want to buy a Ferrari LaFerrari. You can't just buy one, even if you have the money, even if the store has 10 in the showroom, they still won't sell you one. They only sell it to certain people (in this case if you own at least 4 certain ferraris, and for a long time).
Businesses have the right to deny servicing certain people on their free will. It's the freedom of business, not opression against certain groups. Don't blow the balloon, it's not necessary in this case.
Some more real-life examples of this:
Some gun stores only sell you guns if you are member of the local shooting club. Law does not say that, constitution only says you are free to buy a weapon, but they also have the right to their free business.
Airplanes! Well not the movie, but in general. Lot of times people get removed from aircrafts before pushback, because the business decides they are no longer serve that person, even if they paid for the service. And if that person does not leave, police will escort him out. From Etihad planes you can get removed if the flight crew things your clothing does not fit business class. Or a few days ago a passenger got removed because he was smelly.Did these people pay for a service? Yes. Did these people violate policy? No. Did these people violate any law? No. Did these people poses a threat to flight safety? No. Yet they are removed by force. Because the company has the right to deny business. If they deny making business with someone still police removes them if they disagree.
This is not opression, this is the collison of two freedoms. And yes if you pay for the service and later they refuse to make business with you, you have a right to have a compensation. But that's civil court.
This thing does not have to do with opressing certain groups. This happens all over the western world, because of the freedom of business.
Hasta Muerte Cofee in California for example refuses to sell products to or let in uniformed officers.
But certain groups like to blow the balloon like this only happens to them. Refused business happens to almost everyone. But if someone is not part of a small group it's not news, it's not important anymore.
I'm not saying this 'refuse to serve' is a good thing, because it is disgutsing and it has to be dealt with. But don't cetralise around a group, because that's not entirely true, they are just a small part that got affected.
Comment has been collapsed.
With this post you missed the point very much. :) If you find discrimination disgusting, we share the same opinion, so no reason to argue. Also, there are laws against discrimination. Nobody claimed that this only affects one group, but since this is a discussion about LGBTQ Pride Month, people speaking about LGBTQ and not about plane passengers is only logical, isn't it?

You both make good points, and I haven't fully read the case yet; but from what I understand it is not a simple case about 'no shoes no service' 'Refusal of Service' laws; the Supreme Court seemed to state that it is an issue of Speech vs. Discrimination.
In fact, it seems to be implied that the majority ruling went only in favor of the Colorado baker because the lower court mishandled the proceedings to begin with. It would almost seem the Court ruled against the lower court's ruling instead of actually with the Colorado baker who did not want to serve the gay couple.
In other words, imo it seems the Court simply kicked the can down the road a bit; once legal precedent is used there will be many Constitutional challenges following, and there is only one court to decide those anyway.

I feel like the drop the T movement is getting bigger, or maybe I'm just consuming more terf media. And maybe it's just 'cause I'm really cynical, but I don't think I can celebrate pride anymore. Being gay won't get me killed here, just disowned. Being black I might get a few judgements doe having an interracial relationship, but other than that most don't care. I started fighting for lgbt rights and visibility because trans people do get killed and beaten here. But now I really only show what I am to trans groups and at lgbt events, and I'm wondering if there is even a value if I only do that.
I've felt pride in being black in gay, but I feel an outsider to both really, like I'm not really either, like a don't belong. Being trans just brings shame and bad feelings, I hesitate to celebrate it, I only aim to fight for my right to exist. And I'm horrible activist.

I sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter. Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of soaring over the oilfields dropping hot sticky loads on disgusting foreigners. People say to me that a person being a helicopter is Impossible and I'm fucking retarded but I don't care, I'm beautiful. I'm having a plastic surgeon install rotary blades, 30 mm cannons and AMG-114 Hellfire missiles on my body. From now on I want you guys to call me "Apache" and respect my right to kill from above and kill needlessly. If you can't accept me you're a heliphobe and need to check your vehicle privilege. Thank you for being so understanding.

It's this awesome time of year again!
June marks the LGBTQ Pride Month all over the world. Many LGBTQ people wait all year for this one month, the streets get painted with rainbows, motivational queer and trans speakers share their stories, and we are all reminded how far we've come for LGBTQ-rights and how much more we have to fight to be treated fairly. =3
