Fix it by disabling antivirus
Comment has been collapsed.
My Antivirus is quarantining it every time I try to use it. Just started today and it worked fine yesterday, been using it over a year. Tried reinstalling it and the same thing. Turning off the Antivirus worked for me as well. Just weird it suddenly is flagging. Won't even let me exclude it, the risk is too high it says.

Not sure it's ASF related. Don't care about the lost key. I just want to know and understand what happened.
I knew Bot1 owned the game. I knew at least one bot didn't. So i throw the key in ASFui counting on froward keys and was expected:
INFO|ASF|HandleCommand() Answered to WCF command: !redeem Bot1 12345-12345-12345 with:
<Bot1> Key: 12345-12345-12345 | Status: AlreadyPurchased | Items: [34094, Blockstorm]
<Botx> Key: 12345-12345-12345 | Status: DuplicateActivationCode | Items: [34094, Blockstorm]
BUT instead i got:
INFO|ASF|HandleCommand() Answered to WCF command: !redeem Bot1 12345-12345-12345 with:
<Bot1> Key: 12345-12345-12345 | Status: NoDetail | Items: [34094, Blockstorm]
While typing this post, i thought to check a thing in https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/ and:
10 mar 2017 Blockstorm
3 août 2016 Blockstorm Retail
is maybe the answer... pretty scared to use forward keys now... ^^'

Jep. The same game but with different id's.
Is and was that way for all enternity. Like different language editions or stuff. Would have worked in the steam client as well (redeeming it).
On the bright side, there are very few games doing this.

Another ASF user told me yesterday that trades with me take a good number of seconds longer than with other ASF bots. What could be the cause of this?
I'm running ASF on an old AMD Athlon II X2 240 with 4 GB of memory so I can't imagine that is a problem.
Could it be old settings in the json files? I've been using ASF for quite a while now and certain settings have changed or been removed over time.
The only thing I can find at first glance is "AcceptConfirmationsPeriod": 0, this doesn't appear on the wiki anymore.
Comment has been collapsed.
If you're not using MatchEverything
then ASF has to parse your entire inventory on each trade to determine whether trade is good or bad for you. People with smaller inventories typically respond faster, while people with MatchEverything
don't need to bother with this at all.
What you can do? Nothing, apart from decreasing number of items in your inventory or switching to MatchEverything
.

Thanks.
Glad to see the 'problem' is not a problem but just the result of how it works.
I'm gonna just leave it as is then, I can't imagine the few seconds delay will be a problem for people.
Is there any reason to keep AcceptConfirmationsPeriod in the json?

I found annoying problem with Steam that affected ASF recently. Originally I thought this is because I didn't input PIN, but that wasn't the case.
When we use !loot or finished farming, the bot sends trade offer to master account. If we accidentally or unknowingly send multiple commands to ASF to loot, and subsequently we approve the very last command, the previous offers will fail. The problem is, when there's a multiple failed or incomplete trade offers to one master account, ASF will fail as well. I found out through debug function that the limit is 5. To resolve it, I opened the sent offer page (using browser) to let Steam knows that I 'acknowledged' the failed trade offers. By doing so, Steam no longer blocks the send function.
This could've been avoided if Steam simply invalidates everything when it's no longer valid, and does not require user to check. Minor gripe, but wasted my time.

Any way to skip a game? It's currently stuck on Double Fine Adventure and that seems to not be dropping its cards
Comment has been collapsed.
You can add it to your Blacklist. You can find it under ASF in the Config generator.
Comment has been collapsed.
But are you sure?
The game seems to be out and have cards.
Do you see carddrops remaining for that game on your badge page? Maybe the devs just put in a really long time for a card to drop. (I think there are even games where it took 10+ hours to drop all cards).
Comment has been collapsed.
Yea it says it has 4 remaining it's been running for over 12 hours with 0 drops
Comment has been collapsed.
Maybe that could be it but added it to blacklist so all good now anyways :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Well yes, blacklist will do, but it won't do for similar videos in the future, neither result in you getting cards you're eligible for. I suggest to update and remove the game from blacklist instead, since ASF has proper logic for that problem in a latest version.

I just turned on my PC and launched Steam and ASF at the same time and I got a weird error message from steam saying that I couldn't log in because another account was already open in the PC, that I should close that first and then try to log in again. There where two windows with the same message but steam actually logged me in normally despite the warning.
Could this be related to ASF? I got two of those warnings, exactly the number of accounts that ASF is idling/managing for me.
Comment has been collapsed.
It was the first time I ever saw that message, and I've been using ASF for over half a year so I also suspected that. Just wanted to be sure that it wasn't some sort of known recent change on steam's side, I'm still a bit paranoid after they added idlers to their list of software that had conflicts with VAC.
Thanks for the answer Archi.

Got it, although like I guessed the file is just corrupted (null symbols only), which probably indicates OS failure when writing a file, not any ASF logical error. ASF has many checks in place to ensure that content being written is correct, whether OS will write file correctly or not is another thing.

Hello, i have a problem (my english is not very good, i apologize). So my problem is that ASF says it doesn't have anything to farm and i think it is because it only checks on the first page of my badges, because when i check my badges on my steam profile i dont have anything to farm on the first page, i have the games to farm on second page instead. Is this a steam problem? I google it and can't find anyone else with my problem u.u .I have the latest version of ASF and .net

thanks for answering. i have drops for a lot of games they are not f2p, i'll name a few just in case: Cowboy zombie; Blood ties; Inquisitor; Judas; Jelly Killer; Lara croft GO; My pet rock; Nanobots; etc... It worked before

ohhhhhhh im an idiot.. i forgot to put the parentalPIN.. that was the problem.. it is fixed :D .. ty

Hi Cut ;) The ‘LootableTypes' setting means the type of items you can loot (get) from your bot when you send the command !loot to your bot.
The default setting is 1,3,5. So when you !loot the bot, he will send you all his boosterpacks, foil cards and normal cards he has (in his inventory).

Setting up the new SteamUserPermissions can be a bit confusing indeed. Especially when you try to do that manually in the .json files. The easiest way is to do this with the config generator, like you did.
I made an animated gif on the bottom of this post how to add a master to your bots. Maybe handy when the stable release (V2.3.0.x) comes out and people are confused what to do.
Optional: Since the new system offers more possibilities, you can (if you want to) repeat this steps (explained under) and add another userID with other permissions.
Read more if you are interested in that:
https://github.com/JustArchi/ArchiSteamFarm/wiki/Configuration
section: SteamUserPermissions
Important - Add master to your bots:
Before starting: be sure that the "SteamOwnerID" in the asf.json has the value of your YourMaster64bitID (your main account). Double check this. Some people had the problem that this value was set back to 0, which of course is not the right value.
Then add the master to all your bots (see the .gif):
Make sure you are using the latest config generator (and have this in your asf folder). This will not be auto updated like ASF does. Download this ASF-ConfigGenerator.exe manually!

Hi,
when I run ASF and want to play Skyrim via SKSE, the game won't start and ask me to write name and password again. When I quit steam a turn on again, I am normally logged even without the writing the credentials again.
It doesn't occur when ASF is turned off.
I have never had this problem before with other games. The game can be played only without the SKSE. So it seems there is a conflict between ASF and SKSE.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nope, that's SKSE not counting as game being played, aka Steam fuckup. ASF can't know whether you're playing or not - Steam says not, so ASF is starting to farm. Normally there is no logic for taking over the session, so even if ASF started farming regardless of you playing, it would be ASF getting kicked and being disconnected, and not you (people that used older ASF V1.X versions still remember that, you could also force it to happen with !play
). But this is not happening in your case, which means that Steam doesn't recognize you as playing.
If you want to play that game then you need to pause manually, or simply ignore that problem and login when you're done playing. You can also play in offline mode (which is in fact what is happening).
Comment has been collapsed.
Normal Skyrim is not affected, only SKSE is. In fact, I don't know if there is any game with such fuckup, I think Bethesda also fucked up Fallout 3/NV, but I didn't hear about reports from any other games.
And no, there is nothing ASF-wise that can be done if Steam claims that account is free. Offline mode works fine though.

Can we have a 15s delay before ASF resumes farming, after we stopped playing a game?
In order to have ample time to continue playing another game. Helps asf not being competitive with those who browse through the game library and play random games in 10-20min sessions each. Also, for those who actually check their newly bought /won games for a few minutes.
Comment has been collapsed.
I can't see how this is better than !pause
. You'd have a group of angry inviduals asking why that delay is there (including me), and making it configurable option is not worth the effort. I'd simply !pause
when I'm having such gaming session, since ASF is not capable of idling anyway during it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeap thanks, that's also what i do right now, but automatic is always preferable. Even 5sec would be better than 0sec now, It feels like there's no breathing space between stopping a game and asf's resuming farming. On a second thought, this pause might ruin the event-driven behaviour... meh :(
However, I have to report that even without !pause
there was no problem caused or error message displayed, never. I've tested that extensively! Only concern is that pushing asf to start & stop farming (reading badges page etc.) without a reason might cause mishaps with valve's delicate servers.
Comment has been collapsed.
Isn't that basically what was added with https://github.com/JustArchi/ArchiSteamFarm/issues/486 ?
Or is "disconeected while playing" a different event than "exit the game while beeing connected"?
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, it is different. That issue is stricly connected with losing connection in specific condition, here we're not losing anything, and we're not working around the issue that doesn't exist. If all those workarounds didn't trigger only in specific conditions then ASF would be a huge unstable and unreliable mess.
Comment has been collapsed.
How about something like !pause [time in seconds], where if you don't specify a time, or time is 0, its permanent till resumed, but if a time is specified, then it waits that long before resuming. This way, one could do !pause 15 or !pause 30, you go on a multi-game bender, then when you are done, even if you forget to do !resume, the delay that was specified will do that for you that long later.

I asked a question barely 11 hours ago - give Netshroud time to respond, he could've fixed that in 2 weeks from now and nobody would have a right to complain either. Accept ASF as a gift - nobody here is paid to fix anything, not to mention in timely manner.

Did you remove the game info when you redeem a key? When I redeem a key it just appears "No Detail".

Nope, people confirmed many times that new mechanism does not consider ASF at all, must be something else on your PC, like idle master.

Only my main account got AccesDenied, tried it several times too
*edit: Archi explain it below
Comment has been collapsed.
@Miyuu You'll get access denied most likely when you already own the game
and it's non-free
addlicense attempts to assign given license to account
it might fail due to any reason, most often due to the fact that you're adding wrong package, or you already have some other package providing that game (this happens when game goes free)
Comment has been collapsed.
!oa says that those accounts don't own the game yet tho and the random distribution indicates they shouldn't have got it either.
Edit: manually checking tells me that at least couple have the game already idled, so I guess that solves the mystery and Steam is just being as usual and not reporting owning it to ASF.
Edit2: and couple that don't have it are still all AccessDenied. Wasn't Account Warning not dismissed either, so later it is.

ASF is a C# application that allows you to farm steam cards using multiple steam accounts simultaneously. Unlike Idle Master which works only for one account at given time, requires steam client running in background, and launches additional processes imitating "game playing" status, ASF doesn't require any steam client running in the background, doesn't launch any additional processes and is made to handle unlimited steam accounts at once. In addition to that, it's meant to be run on servers or other desktop-less machines, and features full cross-OS support, which makes it possible to launch on any .NET Core-supported operating system, such as Windows, Linux or OS X. ASF is possible thanks to gigantic amount of work done in marvelous SteamKit2 library.
ASF doesn't require and doesn't interfere in any way with Steam client. In addition to that, it doesn't require exclusive access to given account, which means that you can use your main account in Steam client, and use ASF for idling the same account at the same time. If you decide to launch a game, ASF will get disconnected, and resume idling once you finish playing your game, being as transparent as possible during entire process.
