ASF is a C# application that allows you to farm steam cards using multiple steam accounts simultaneously. Unlike Idle Master which works only for one account at given time, requires steam client running in background, and launches additional processes imitating "game playing" status, ASF doesn't require any steam client running in the background, doesn't launch any additional processes and is made to handle unlimited steam accounts at once. In addition to that, it's meant to be run on servers or other desktop-less machines, and features full cross-OS support, which makes it possible to launch on any .NET Core-supported operating system, such as Windows, Linux or OS X. ASF is possible thanks to gigantic amount of work done in marvelous SteamKit2 library.

ASF doesn't require and doesn't interfere in any way with Steam client. In addition to that, it doesn't require exclusive access to given account, which means that you can use your main account in Steam client, and use ASF for idling the same account at the same time. If you decide to launch a game, ASF will get disconnected, and resume idling once you finish playing your game, being as transparent as possible during entire process.

Core features

  • Automatic idling of available games with card drops using any number of active accounts
  • No requirement of running or even having official Steam client installed
  • Guarantee of being VAC-free
  • Complex error-reporting mechanism, allowing ASF to be smart and resume idling even in case of Steam or networking problems
  • Customizable cards idling algorithm which will push performance of card drops to the maximum
  • Offline idling, allowing you to skip in-game status and stop confusing your friends
  • Advanced support for alt accounts, including ability to redeem keys, redeem gifts, accept trades and more through a simple Steam chat
  • Support for latest Steam security features, including SteamGuard, SteamParental and two-factor authentication
  • Unique ASF 2FA mechanism allowing ASF to act as a mobile authenticator (if needed)
  • StreamTradeMatcher integration allowing ASF to help you in completing your steam badges by accepting dupe trades
  • Rebased on .NET Core 2.0, cross-OS compatibility, official support for Windows, Linux and OS X
  • ...and many more!

Interesting features

For comparison with other similar programs and further read about the most interesting exclusive ASF features, I recommend to visit appropriate FAQ entry that explains everything in detail. It's also a very good starting point if you want to have a glimpse on what ASF can do, besides the obvious.

Setting up

Detailed guide regarding setting up and using ASF is available in the setting up article on our wiki. It's user-friendly tutorial with helpful screenshots that compacts the whole basic knowledge about ASF into a single document.

Request to add
Q: Can ASF idle multiple games at once for longer than 2 hours or skip through games fast?
A: No. For farming cards that is only beneficial for some people and only due to a steam glitch. You can use the play command to do whatever you want, but there is no automated option for using glitches.

I used to add the Master ID from my account where i send commands in the "SteamMasterID" field but i don't see that field anymore in the newer version. Where shuld i put my Master ID now in the ASF Config generator? On "SteamTradeToken"?

hoi archi
can i configurate asf that it idle more games at the same time? is that possible?
nothing found about this in your wiki (or my english too bad)

Edit:
wanna explain what i mean
when all games with 2 hours onr record are finished idling, than asf is farming a lot of games to get 2 hours on record.
on that point i am getting always a lot of cards at once from all those games

thats why im asking you if i can testing that, how to force asf to idle 10,20 or 50 games at the same time

Edit Edit:
i found it here under performance https://github.com/JustArchi/ArchiSteamFarm/wiki/Performance
it calls glitch, so my question ended here

with asf you still could.. it halts the idling as soon as you launch a game anyways.

the only thing that would start making me worry is if they did memory hook scans to find asf processes.. but since that's so unreliable and can easily get false positives, valve will likely never add that form of scan.

And even that only works if ASF if running on the same PC, not if it's running on a server.

The auto trading has broken for me suddenly.

ASF won't automatically send trade offers anymore. When I manually make a trade offer it won't auto accept the trade and I have to use WinAuth to accept it. It was working until a few days ago.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Thanks, that fixed it. What's odd is that I never had to set a master before. Did something change?
In ASF config-generator I put my SteamID64 in the SteamOwnerID field and that was all I needed to do for all my bots to trade properly.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Is the OwnerID still set?
It might be, that this one got reseted when updating.

But for automatic trades (i.e. loot) a masterID was always needed (I think). Only for accepting manual trades owner was sufficient.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yep, the OwnerID is still set, and that's all I ever set. Automatic trades worked fine before.

Edit: I don't have my main on ASF, so the bots would auto trade, but I'd have to manually confirm on my main. But then even that stopped working. The MasterID fixed it though, so it's exactly like it was.

On the data storage? Just copy it there but you can not run it.

On the computation cloud? Just buy the minimal vserver with debian and install mono and ASF. Should cost around 15-20$ per month.

Nope, you pay for use only

Besides Googles free tier is pretty generous:

As part of the Google Cloud Platform Free Tier, Compute Engine offers an amount of usage that is free to use, up to a specific limit. These free usage limits are always available even during and after the free trial period. If you go over these usage limits and are no longer in the free trial period, you will be charged according to the price sheet.

1 f1-micro VM instance per month (US regions only).
30 GB of HDD persistent disk storage per month.
5 GB of snapshot storage per month.
1 GB egress from North America to other destinations per month (excluding Australia and China).

and they give you free $300 for first year to begin with, so once your bill exceeds that, you only have to pay

TL;DR f1-micro server in US, connect to US steam server, don't use more than 30GB of HDD and you're free even after first year.

I haven't used it tho. So don't know about setting up.

Hm.. is that about the server or the custumer? Checked it on their site and picked the lowest specks everywhere, checked include free stuff but ended up with 18$/month.

AH, are the 30GB already included without the need of picking them?
If I only pick a Instance I end up with 0$ if I add persistend storage it goes to 18.xx a month.

Ah, seems to be included, because if I add 1GB I have 31GB ^^.

But I can not create a private account. Only company account. ... wtf. Ah because I'm from the EU... rly...

Trying to send commands via steam chat of private group, could someone please tell me what I did wrong ? :(

I put mi steam account ID in SteamOwnerID of ASF and SteamUserPermissions for the bot as master + I put my group ID in SteamMasterClanID for the bot.
Still when in the chat of this group, my bot doesn't receive the commands I send like "!pause", what did I do wrong ? :(

"It's not required to have any extra account for executing commands though Steam chat - you can create a group, set SteamMasterClanID properly to that newly created group, then give yourself access either through SteamOwnerID or SteamUserPermissions of your own bot. This way ASF bot (you) will join group and chat of your selected group, and listen to commands from your own account. You can join the same group chatroom in order to issue commands to yourself (as you'll be sending command to chatroom, and ASF instance sitting on the same chatroom will receive them, even if it shows only as your account being there). Apart from that, you can also use WCF, but chatroom way is much easier, and if you have access to some alt account, then using that instead is even easier."

the play command tells the bot what game to play. Completly independend of any cards.
So "!play 570" replies with Done, after the game (Dota 2) has been started and the bot will keep playing Dota 2 for all eternity.

Do NOT use play if you just want ASF to farm all your cards. Just enable (start) the bot and let automatic mode run.

Since it is forbidden to give other people your account information, you would have to argue that you used a VPN (to not get trouble if someone asks you about different ips).

Market and store transaktions over VPN are forbidden, so you would get in trouble for that.

So as long as your friend does NOT purchase or sells anything on the market or store you can argue it was you using a VPN and you are fine.
I'm often online via browser with a differnt IP (different countrs) than my ASF instance and so far noone complained about it.

So its not possible to farm and play a game at the same time?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Correct. ASF acts like a separate instance of Steam and Steam will only let one instance of Steam play a game at a time. If you have ASF farming cards when you try to launch a game it detects you as playing a game on another computer and will prompt you if you wish to play your game you will disconnect the other connection. While this stops ASF from farming cards it will start up again after you are finished playing your game.

Comment has been collapsed.

One question for you. A game have 3 card. After 1 hour playtime you received your second card. How long you must wait to recieve the last card?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It depends on the game, since the dev can chose the drop time. The minimal time is 15 or 20 minutes. So after 45-60 minutes you have recieved all three card drops from a game. On the other hand the maximal droptime is 2 hours, so the third card drops after 6 hours.

Most games keep it somewhat around 20+-5 but some make it longer.

I would assume, that when you play two games the drop time is doubled, Maybe if one game does not have drops it's less than doubled.

But you definetly will drop slower.

PS: Depending on the game (VAC) idling while playing is impossible anyways.

Okay you dont know how to idle. I takes 0 seconds. You need to just close the game and you will receive the last card.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Okay you dont know how to idle.

lel
Works not for everyone and not reproducable.
It's most likely a not intended steam glitch.
It works even faster if you bring all games to 2hours simultaniously and then skip through games, like discussed here for 20 times.

See last chapter here
https://github.com/JustArchi/ArchiSteamFarm/wiki/Performance

Btw. half the time I am doing other stuff while idling. Checking all games for "how many card drops and when to close" is a waste of personal time.
Besides ASF can run on a server as well. Guess idling 24 hours without intervenining beats closing a game once in a while.
Oh, and did I mention, that I need to farm more than one account?

If you think for your case it is the best you play while running idlemaster, thats fine.
But ASF has so many advantages. and as I mentioned. for VAC protected games you can not idle while playing.

I know about this glitch. And it works not only with last card. But your answer is incorrect, because chance of this glitch occurance is not 100%.

Only kids and noobs care if a card drops 10 seconds faster or not, really, because they don't know how to idle. :P

The whole point is to run ASF and forget, not stay there DDoSing Steam to get that card that you would get anyways.

No.

And if you do the skip through games stuff, thats sending a lot of requests to steam... And dosing is sending a lot of requests.
You will most likely not reach the point where valve hunts you down, but it is significantly increased traffic compared to normal playing or idling.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Starting > playing > closing the game is the same like starting > idling > closing -.- Why it should increase the traffic if I idle and close the game after waited hours and close the game to receive the last card? O.o

I think you misunderstand me. I think you understand I would start and close the game the whole day.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Because it's
Request for starting -> waiting a considerable amount of time, i.e. 1 or 2 hours -> request for closing

vs.
Request for starting -> waiting 3sec. -> request for closing
in a loop.

For the case of skipping throuh games, like I mentioned.

Just closing early does not do that. But that as well is a glitch, and not "you do not know anything about idling" because it does not work for everyone.

At least look at the screenshot on the "second program" first... You only need to browse ASF.exe file, click the password button, put username and password, and click "start" button

You need to configure your bots before. Additionally the "enter your password" stuff is broken.
So basically after ASF is setup, ASFui makes sending commands easier ^^

You need to do the config thing first.
ASFui only helps you, after you set your stuff up.

Open the config-generator that came with the ASF.zip and edit the fields as explained in the wiki. Afterards start ASF.exe or ASFui.exe.

ASF keeps flashing in front of whatever I am looking at(browser, desktop, Steam client, etc.) on my screen once in a while. I don't know why and I have no errors using ASF. Seems to happen every time I receive a card drop.

Flashing? Can you catch that on video?

This is definitely not ASF issue, but maybe I could suggest something OS-related.

I have a problem where while sometimes it farms a lot of games at once, eventually it always ends up farming just one game at a time, even if I have card drops on 10 different games, which means it takes a few days to finish. Is there any way I can make it always farm multiple games, unless there is only one game left to farm?

Also, are there any valid reasons why to farm only one game at a time after they have more than 2 hours? Why can't it keep farming multiple games after 2 hours and just have card drops from all of them? That's what I used to do when I farmed them on my own, and that worked faster than doing one by one.

FAQ

Q: Can ASF idle multiple games at once for longer than 2 hours or skip through games fast?

A: No, ASF doesn't support Steam glitches.

Is there a command i can use to send a group id and all the bots will join that group (not the group chat)? Something like "join asf <GroupID>"? I know that asf can join the ASF Group and the master group defined by user.

From the FAQ:

Users sign-in using their Steam account, and we require their account to be valued at $100 or greater. Games that have been accessible through bundles, or games that were once available for free due to promotions or pricing errors are not included in this calculation. We have this requirement in place to prevent users from registering multiple accounts.

It's funny how people always think that editing their posts will hide anything:

You do know he is talking about Gleam GAs, right ?
Even the original comment in the screenshot you just posted makes that pretty obvious.

Is he? I read giveaways so it seemed rather likely to me that it pertains to this site.

But I guess the Gleam things could apply.

Doesn't make it much better in my view but then it's up to Gleams Terms of Service and not Steamgifts.

Promotional Freebies would be the more accurate term but pretty much everbody refers to them as GAs which can cause some confusion ;)

I'm 98,3% sure he is. There are no developer Group GAs here on SG that give guaranteed keys but pretty much every Gleam GA requires you to join at least one Spam group.

But ... but why?
redo the redeem command so it accepts gleam links.
Auto enters all tasks, gets and redeems the key and leaves all groups.
All using a different proxy for each bot.

Should be a piece of a cake, shouldn't it? ;->
