I like some things out of each a little better than the other. I enjoy the progression in Payday 2 a little more than Payday 1. Safehouse is a cool new addition, and I look forward to what they'll be doing with that in the future. The more dynamic elements are nice too. The missions don't get old as quickly as they did in the first so I don't lose interest in playing long periods of time as quickly, haha. I wouldn't say it's completely inferior to the first game, and there are still alot of things that they'll be changing. I see what you're saying though. I've never tried Overkill in Payday: The Heist, but in Payday 2 I farm it. Maybe they'll increase difficulty a little.

In Payday 2 I like more stealth options (and that you can somewhat do crowd control without police being called) and hate inventory system and that you can't unlock all skills at once (just unlock, not necessary using them all in 1 heist). Hard to tell which Payday is I think better. Probably Payday 2, after hours of grinding and getting items what you really want, if you didn't get tired of it first.

There is going to be 30 different heists and I think they are great because you can do each of them so differently. Also there is so much more customisation. And you have an upgradable safe house! I think it's better in every way. Except from it doesn't have First World Bank :( However there is a newspaper in the game saying FWB is reopening and in the game files there is a FWB keycard

Try to keep in mind that you're still playing the beta of Payday 2. I actually think Payday 2 is superior due to the stealth options, the skill system, the ability to customize your character, and a lot more. Payday 2 is actually a bit more challenging to me, though that may be because I play the hardest heists.

Have you tried to cook meth under siege? It's not that easy.

Reading this topic was such a relief!
I was torturing myself for not pre-purchasing the sequel, thinking i was missing so much... I still think the game will improve until release and after that, and i tottaly dig their new ideas (and i have been waiting for such kind of campaing in a game for long), but at least its easier to wait knowing it ain't all that fun yet.

I played the Payday 2 Beta today and to be honest, I did not see much of a difference in comparison to Payday: The Heist. Both games look pretty much the same, and have the same kind of feel to them. The first one has less heists and the online/coop mode is slightly "worse", but other than that I think they're pretty much the same. I certainly will not be purchasing the second one any time soon.

Dont you think that payday 2 is very inferior comparing to payday: the heist??
The campaigns are a lot easier and smaller, less detailed.. Doesnt feel like a challenge...
What's your opinion?
