I bought my gamepad more than nine years ago, and it works flawlessly. It's a generic usb gamepad. The thing is, my PC detects it as a "5 axis 12 buttons joystick with pov" while it's a normal gamepad. When I try to test it, surprise surprise, it doesn't work. But it DOES work on my cellphone and my brother's PC. So, unless any of you guys have a magic solution to this issue (cough, cough) I think I'll have to buy another joystick. Do you have any recommendations besides the awesome xbox 360 controller? Or do you know how to solve my problem? Thanks for reading this far :)

Bu fantastic DualShock3, duh.

But before that, maybe some drivers to it? Did you consult with google, maybe some other people have similiar problem and there is thread about it somewhere?

Oh, believe me, I did look for similar problems using google... But I only found 3 threads in different forums of people having the same issue, and none of them had any answers. What I did try is create a backup of the driver from the PC where it works, and install it in my PC. Sadly, It didn't solve anything...

Maybe this will help? http://enitvare.com/how-to-use-a-gamepad-other-than-xbox-360-controller

Or maybe this? http://www.autohotkey.com/board/topic/89279-ujr-universal-joystick-remapper-using-vjoy/

I don't think I cap help beyond that. From my experience it probably comes down to one single, easy thing like changing something burried deep down in windows (how many times something like that was sollution for my problems -.-) but I can't help with that without actually being near to your PC.

Also one more thing - did you ever use "5 axis 12 buttons joystick with pov" or any other pad on your PC? Maybe there is some driver sitting in the system files that somehow stops it from working? I hope that helps a little, good luck!

No, not really. The only gamepads I ever plugged in my PC are this one, and a pair of DS3. But I had this issue before using the DS3s, so I guess it can not be that. I'll try with that UJR thing. Thanks!

At same price or even a little less you can buy something much better, like Dual Shock 4, with DS4 tool drivers once installed all Dualshock's 3 and 4 from Sony work like plug and play, windows detects them as Xbox 360 controller, also you can use touch pad as mouse.

Oh, I didn't know about that... I had some trouble to make DS3 work in my PC (sometimes one of my friends brings along a pair of DS3 to play fifa), but maybe it will be better with DS4. I'll keep 'em in mind. Thanks!

It might be hard to make it work for the first time, but once it's done it works flawless. I'm using DS3 from time to time and it's great. Just in case, if you want, I can look for easy youtube tutorial that will help you set things up, in case you will want to try with that.

http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-Controller

That to install drivers and make your Dualshock 3 or 4 work on PC like an Xbox 360 controller, takes 10-15min to read instructions and install, your controllers need to be from Sony, other brands are not valid.

Or you can try MotionJoy, is easiest option, but also worse, since you always have to open it and it also has ads than will open in your browser, so I recommend use the drivers from the link, they make controllers work like plug & play.

Anyways if you are in South America you probably want something cheap and PC compatible, there is lots of Xbox 360 controllers not from Microsoft cheaper than $20, they're not like best quality but still fully PC compatible, check on Amazon or eBay, or also some branded ones from Thrustmaster, Hori, Logitech, Speedlink for less than $25

Yeah, I know, but the biggets problem here are resellers (it feels like a robbery, really) and all the trouble you have to go through to buy stuff from other countries :/ It really sucks.

http://www.amazon.com/HORI-Xbox-360-Gem-Pad-EX/dp/B00EOI2KFM/ < you can find it cheaper, for less than $25, very recommended
http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Controller-Official-Xbox-360-6306200/dp/B009DALSSG

http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-940-000110-Gamepad-F310/dp/B003VAHYQY/ < this one very recommended

And the ones I talked about eBay are just cheap Chinese copies of original Xbox 360 but without Xbox logo, not best but cheap, anyways I recommend one of the above that I linked or similar.

Okay, so, I think I might know the problem.

It's your USB drivers. Yep, I know, it's weird. But it happens. Try reinstalling from the motherboard (if desktop) or laptop (if laptop) manufacturer's site and it might fix the problem.

Otherwise, I've seen quite a few people recommend the Logitech F310.

It does sounds weird, indeed. But yeah, this whole thing must be related to drivers in one way or the other. I'll give it a try after dinner. Thanks a lot!
