From what I remember Starcraft 1 and Diablo 2 used a different\previous version of battle.net, not connected to the new one of SC 2 and Diablo 3

Is there somebody who can play this game online/battle.net ? I am getting the error 'unable to initialize network'. Antivirus disabled, win 8.1. Also, I don't have an old battle.net account, where do I register?

Woot! loaded the game up with no problems. Although to my surprise 20 years of Starcraft and I didn't realise there were 3rd party expansion made for it like they did with Diablo 1. 2 Official and 2 Unofficial/Rejected expansions. I feel like such a boob for not knowing this. Immediately went and found them and plugged them into the game. Now all is right wit the world ...
