Seriously though, I mostly smoke because I have horrible stomach problems. Lots of days I can't even get anything down without lighting up.

It helps me concentrate in a lot of things such as listening to music, watch videos/movies, reflex about life. Also it helps to relax.

I can say that a lot of what is said about weed is crap and many people are missinformed. I recommend watching the movie "Grass" as a start for those with some curiosity. Also you won´t really understand untill you smoke it (which many will say "so convinient") but when you realise you smoked and are not an addict, you don´t kill people, you don´t have allucinations, etc. you see how much bs is talked about.

Yes, I smoke weed every now and then. It's not legal where I am. I smoke weed to relax and have fun with friends. We just bought a bong. A friend with weed is a friend indeed.

Here in New York it's been decriminalized. Unless you're caught with a massive amount, or it's in multiple bags indicating it might be for selling, you'll just get a slap on the wrist. So many people smoke weed, it would be absurd to throw everyone in jail for it (Looking at you California)

It's legal if I drive 45 minutes north (from New Mexico into Colorado.) I don't smoke it. People who smoke it regularly generally don't succeed at much. I have other aspirations.

jk... Smoking helps me mainly with 2 things, my appetite and sleeping.
I have problems with my back and sleep does not come easy for me.
I've been thin my whole life and usually I just don't feel hungry. Often times I only eat 1 sometimes 2 meals a day. When I smoke, it's much easier for me to eat.

Yes, i tried, got stoned like two times before going to class, never got addicted, and yes it's illegal here. It was fun but something i wouldn't spend money on, unless once a year at the very best.

Why do you smoke weed if you do?
It calms me down. I guess you could say it's self-medication, but as someone who may or may not have experimented with party drugs(I had a raving phase), I can definitely say that weed is probably the best thing you can do. If I'm at a concert, club, or just a social gathering, being sober is extremely uncomfortable for me. It seriously sucks when I say it like that, but it's true. Much better to take weed than ecstasy.

I have no intention of trying it just as I have no intention of drinking alcohol.
The idea of getting drunk or high is revolting to me.

I don't hate people who smoke marijuana. Close family members have done it.

I'll say this, I feel like a lot less people would be dead right now if it was prescribed in place of pain killers, anti-depressents, ADD medication, etc...and yes it can be used well for all of the above, hell its probably healthier then an aspirin or Tylenol...

Reason its not legal = It honestly would take a giant hit(Pun intended) out of the medical and other companies profits. The people who are so against weed should really read up some more, sure smoking it isn't the best, but really its not as bad as smoking...well pretty much everything else, you can also eat it, brew tea, vaporize it, etc..All of the above utilize it better actually.

Also I have heard that the oil has shown some positive effects on Cancer but really have not looked to hard into that. That said I am not a pot head...I unlike other people in this thread I like to research and don't go "LOL SMOKING BAD, FUCK YOU POT HEAD, GO SMOKE AND FORGET ABOUT ME ANGERING YOU LOLTROLOLOL".

No. I have had the opportunity several times, but never took it despite peer pressure. I live in BC, and it's highly socially acceptable and available. I have a friend from Brazil (thats also travelled to Europe and South America) who says marijuana use is the most socially accepted here. It's a personal choice, I have many friends who do smoke it and that's ok as long as they don't smoke it too close to me because I hate the smell. I also don't like it when using it becomes a persons whole identity. I have heard the whole "it cures cancer" argument as why it is not bad for you but I question that and it's relevance as it is so easy to get a medical marijuana license in most places if you genuinely need it to treat an illness. I know that Israel has developed a no THC strain that helps reduce swelling and other issues for such patients, so smoking weed for treatment (and most people I know that smoke weed do not have any issues that it would treat) does not even require you to get high. I really don't think weed is a healthy habit, but I'm not particularly conservative or passionately opposed. I wouldn't mind seeing legalization setup in a system similar to how we handle alcohol, but I have a feeling no one will follow it since A. Teens will get access to it like they get access to alcohol (it's easier to get weed than booze here in some cases), B. The industry is already underground and I doubt gangs/criminals want to share the profits/pay taxes

I smoke with friends for group fun, so no def. not hating ppl who smoke as many of my friends you'd call potheads. I have nothing against them, as ppl after weed often behave still better than many ppl who get agrresive after alcohol :>

The problem with weed is not the drug itself, it's that almost every single person has a different perception of the drug, mainly due to total ignorance. If you're sensible, it's harmless, and if you vaporize instead of smoke it, it's actually very good for you. Just google "marijuana and cancer".

I think as soon as someone says "I smoke weed", the most common reaction from those whose opinion is based purely on ignorance is to imagine them half passed out in a smokey room, talking incoherent bo11ocks, eating all the cookies and giggling to themselves. Sure I've known people who are like that, but unless it's just a one-off "let's get super stoned" situation, they tend to be stoners. In other words, they basically don't do anything else. Same could be applied to the consumption of alcohol... or anything else.
That being said, stay away from cocaine and speed, those drugs are purely for morons (speaking from personal experience), and of course, stay away from heroin. There's no "casual" heroin usage. :)

Here in the Czech Republic it may as well be legal, no one cares. I think the law leans very much towards letting people smoke dope, because it does no one else any harm. And that's the bottom line of it: How many fights are started by chilled out stoned dudes compared to drunk people?
They might give you a telling off if you have (I think) 15g or over on you. You're also allowed to grow up to 5 plants!

For those of you who have very negative feelings towards the consumption of cannabis, just look into it! You'll realise it's not the big evil hairy scary monster that some God-botherer/terrible theatre group visiting your school told you it was!

I smoke weed regularly (that meaning a couple of joints every night), to me it's the equivalent of kicking back and having a glass of wine/beer/whiskey, I don't smoke just to get super stoned, personally that's pointless to me, I just smoke to relax. The first sign that you should question your consumption is if you're smoking during the day. Same rules apply to stoners and alcoholics; if the first thing you do when you get out of bed is roll a joint/pour a glass of wine, there's a problem.
