I think a lot of people will give platitudes to try to cheer you up, but the truth is, something was lost to you. I may have lost the person I love most in the world, and I realized very very recently that I don't actually know if I can ever feel a love like that again... There's no way to know, and there isn't some special 'one' out there for you. There are just people and circumstances, and hope, and despair.
Take a breather, try to find some inspiration if you truly want to write that novel (there's plenty of inspiration in sadness, I got inspired for my most recent novel/series idea from the time I spent in a mental hospital because of how screwed up my life got this year). Take time to search within yourself. I won't tell you not to give up (it'd be hypocritical, I tried to kill myself and I haven't exactly recovered from that), but realize that you can't do it half-way (at least not for too long). Either the chance to recover or find new love, or just experience life, is worth pushing on, or it isn't.
If it's worth it, then use that chance to find the best parts of yourself and strengthen them. You want someone who loves what you are, but they should still want the best of those things, because you deserve someone who will hold their standards high for you.

Good to hear. I truly is better to have loved and lost. It may hurt like hell, but it hurts because you felt something wonderful. Our time in this world is fleeting, and all things are lost to time eventually, so what matters is the experiences you get to have before you fade away. If anything is forever, it is the imprint of what we have done.

The love of my life just left me, my novel is getting nowhere, and life is too short. But enough about me, here is my second train.
