Finish the process to receive promotion, soldier.

Developer giveaways are counted. Public giveaways with 100% chance are not.

I apply for cherry.
Guns of Icarius Beta was a 100% win chance. Wasn't good anyway. Start-up was pretty buggy.

Just checking: are you aware that poppers join only to gift games and cannot enter group giveaways?

The only win I have is yesterday's Galactic Arms Race. Thanks.

That is counted as win and enough for rejection.

If you consider it a proper win (almost 100% chance), don't forget about my fake Skyrim win (already removed by mods or something). That is very lucky indeed, I wish you same kind of luck.

Aye, I consider it as a proper win with 15.9% chance to lose (meaning about every sixth entree lost) and 4740 members losing all in all. It is certainly not the most improbable win but a win nonetheless. Also, I could not forget something I was not aware of in the first place.
I thank you for wishes of luck, but considering that I seem to have won more at the moment than statistics predict, I personally desire for it to balance out. Instead, I hope you meet your estimate.

Whatever. We both know you are wrong on this one. By the way this joke of a game Galactic Arms Race is not even officially out yet. Not available on steam, no nothing, just some massive near beta experience. But hey, ignorance is bliss, enjoy it while it lasts.

I understand that being rejected migh cause disappointment. Dissing the game you just won while others did not, is not in general the best available advocacy. What would be then, in your opinion, a proper definition of unlucky? The one that includes you? During my time in this group, it is quite clear that everyone has their own definition of it. No matter what it would be, it will always leave someone outside the door.
I know at least one active giveaway group that is aimed for people with low number of wins. Perhaps you should try applying there or any other giveaway group? I also recommend checking forums often as it has lots of hidden or puzzle giveaways with good chances to win.

Don't want to sound repetitive - whatever. You'd lose your face changing your mind now. Good job omitting incovenient parts.

Quite many did. GAR brought biggest round of winners this group has ever seen. I thought that people would be happy when they finally won. It should be common knowledge inside the group that winners will be kicked out as group has fulfilled its purpose.
If you find documentation lacking, please say so and I'll do try to improve it.

well, in the description you said BETA games does not count as a win :) but w/e, nice initiative with this group, even if i haven't won anything there.
And also, it would have been nice to announce before the giveaway ends that ppl will get kick if they win that.

As it was not stated to be a beta in the giveaway (to my understanding every beta giveaway has explicitly stated in their description it to be beta), I assumed everyone to understand it to be a full game. Had its chance not gone below 100%, it would have been like Faerie Solitaire and would have not been counted as win.
During several days the giveaway was on, not a single cherry asked me would this be considered as win. Had I known that people were not certain, I would had posted an announcement.

Do not fear as I have no intention of changing my opinion regarding GAR. I am merely interested what you mean with your terms "ignorance" and "incovenient parts" as at the moment you seem to be accusing me of something shady and I have no idea what you mean.

'By the way this joke of a game Galactic Arms Race is not even officially out yet. Not available on steam, no nothing, just some massive near beta experience.'
That's what they usually call 'closed beta' even if its creators don't use this specific term.

Quoting cg from giveaway: "A quick reminder to everyone, even though the game is not available on Steam at the moment, the winners will be receiving Steam redeemable keys." Even if people cannot buy the game at the moment, they still get the game on Steam. Why it is not already in Steam? To my understanding, this was mainly because of some legal issues with their university.
Even if game is in closed state, it does not make it beta. This is not the first non-beta game that is given here that cannot yet be bought from Steam store. Also, even if it would be in beta state at the moment, winners still won the final version. For example, Don't Starve is in beta at the moment but it would be considered as win as the winner is winning the final game too.
I have still not found out in your examples how this giveaway is against current rules.

Betas also have steam redeamable keys: archeblade, dota anyone? Legal issues, several years, yeah, that's when 'cool story' tag is appropriate. Several years pass by, issues - not resolved. The thing I know - I can't see it now in my library on my profile page: /games?tab=all, I don't think I will see it there ever; therefore can't treat it as a
But you should have mentioned the point 'I have no intention of changing my opinion regarding GAR' earlier.

I know you guys are pissed , i was rejected cuz of that too , but you know there are others who have 1000 entries and won nothing. I know GAR isn't the best thin , but let the others the chance. There are the normal chances for everyone on steamgifts.com , but this is for the really , really unlucky guys out there. i can really understand you , hoped at least for reserve pool ... just enter the usuall giveaways and one day u´ll get some better wins ;) (Sry for my "english" , was not my best subject at school :3 )

I am aware of at least one person who joined GAR giveaway, lost and is cherry. In my opinion it would unfair for people like that if winners of GAR would be allowed to stay as cherries.
I see that you are couple wins behind estimate so I hope you good luck in future giveaways.

You consider getting game to be shown in your library as major requirement. I consider the possibility to play it to be more important. It is that our opinions on the matter are different and it is just fine. As I stated earlier, people have different definitions of unlucky.

Grow up. This group is pure charity for unlucky people. You don't qualify so deal with it and with your attitude (wishing bad luck for others) you don't even deserve to be a part of cherry poppers (my personal opinion only and does not reflect the view of the group).

So much anger, someone took your candy? This matter will be perfectly resolved without you. One group more or less, doesn't matter, I was making my point there.

You were not making your point. You were making a scene. There is a rather sizable difference.

Plus it had been decided amongst givers within the group that some giveaways do count as wins. It's not just Tubberware, it was the will of the whole group to cut GAR out of the traditional rules.

The best you could come up with after 1 week? I'm not impressed.
Comment has been collapsed.
My understanding of the 'beta-rule' is that it aims at beta only giveaways, i.e. the winner gets a beta code which expires once the finished game hits the shelf (like it was with the Guns of Icarus Online dev-giveaway).
GAR might be in a beta state now but all winners will get to play the full game when it's finished.

Companies use betas nowadays as a replacement for demos. They commonly lack features and are available only for a limited amount of time. Reineke is correct as in case of purely beta games, ownership of a product is lost once the beta phase ends. Thus I would not consider such a case won, for group's purposes, as winner will end up with an empty win at the end.

Two giveaways marked not received. Want to have a PR speech?

Having (high) contribution is not a mandatory requirement but merely something that nets bonus points for application.

No, have not yet went through this week's pool check. Finish the process for invite.

You'll have more than you can handle if you don't consider GAR a win lol

I do not have access to site's statistics, but I would wager that majority of potential new cherries are gone after GAR. It will take couple weeks for new unlucky people to gather enough entries and be ready for applying.

Group has now been closed
It was an interesting journey and I wish to thank all who made it possible: Contributors who generously gave gifts to the unlucky, community for its support & kind words and lastly support members who endured our way too many reroll tickets.
You have my gratitude.
For those that still remain unlucky: There exists few unlucky groups. One could try applying in them. I also recommend visiting forum often for puzzles and hidden giveaways.
Finally some statistics:
