So is this ref paid off or what?

He's so bad, its kind of hard to tell who paid him off. Maybe ESPN is bribing him to keep it controversial and wild to increase rating. The fact that there wasn't a card until that late is a sham. I think he was terrified of giving Neymar a yellow and having him miss his next match. Brazil fans might burn his hotel down with him still inside.

Zuniga deserves a red card and a bitchslap, and this ref deserves to lose his job for giving nothing on that knee on neymar's back!

Absolutely true

The ref should have shown the cards already on the first half to calm the game down. In my opinion this was just an accident - yes, foul, but not made with a purpose to injure.

What game did you watch, buddy?
Thiago Silva got the yellow card he deserved when he interrupted the colombian goalkeeper. Other than that, from br, only fernandinho deserved a foul.
Now let's talk about Colombia: Zuniga's kick in David Luiz, the kick in Hulk's knee, Zuniga's knee on Neymar's back (that took Neymar out of the game), Cuadrado body slamming everyone and BEING DISRESPECTFUL to the ref...
You better cry elsewhere

Neymar is out of the world cup because he broke a rib when that SON OF A BITCH zuniga hit his back with his knee...
STUPID ref didn't do anything during the game!
FIFA better punish the ref and zuniga (2 assholes) hard enough!

Even if the ref had done something, it wouldn't have changed anything. A red card wouldn't have changed the outcome. I was kind of glad to see Neymar get hit. I was tired of his overselling the slightest bit of contact, if there was any to begin with.

There's nothing to be glad about

You might not have noticed it, since you were rooting for your team and fans are rarely objective, but there was a whole lot of flopping in that game. The announcers were even commenting on it and calling for cards to stop the nonsense. Flopping makes it really hard to take soccer seriously and its made the NBA unwatchable for years.

Yes, I noticed it and I agree; some players from br like david luiz and neymar deserved fouls, fernandinho deserved a yellow card, and that julio cesar penalty could even be a red card. On the colombian side, ramos, cuadrado and zuniga were being aggressive since the begining and the ref should've give cards a lot early.
My point stands, there's nothing to be glad about a player breaking the other's rib and going unpunished...

I wasn't glad about him going unpunished, just that it wouldn't have mattered in the larger sense. Brazil won either way, and Columbia's World Cup is finished. A card wouldn't have any impact whatsoever.

I didn't really want Neymar to have any serious injury. I just wanted him to actually earn one of those fouls that he kept drawing. Fortunately, its just a benign fracture of the third vertebrae, so its not serious, even if it does mean he'll miss the rest of the World Cup.

Where are you hearing that? Wouldn't believe it just yet, it's not like he hasn't pretended to be injured before. Neymar. I didn't see you complaining about him not being sent off when he elbowed someone in the face on day 1.

As though I shouldn't be sceptical. Still it's a pity he's out. Although maybe if Brazil hadn't been kicking James all game, there would have been less aggression from Colombia. That's just ifs and buts though.
