Hrm, might get this for Fall of the Samurai collection so I can play Shogun.
Dunno yet, guess I should lock in the price, though ....

I bought Tier 2, I've always wanted to try out the Dawn of War series. Note it doesn't come with the Ridiculously Bloody Blood Pack and the Necron Overlord DLC for Dawn of War II.

I noticed that, too, although for some reason I already have the Necron Overlord DLC, so it must have come from somewhere else.

Isn't Total War: Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai supposed to be a standalone game? I cannot see it on Steam client, even though on the store page appears as "already in your Steam library". Also when I click "Play Now" on the store page, nothing happens.

Looks like a DLC to me

Permalink

It's a dlc for shogun 2 if you own both.

What is most confusing, is the note on the Steam Store:

"DOES NOT require the base game Total War: SHOGUN 2 in order to play."

Even though I can not find this somewhere, I guess that you are right...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm pretty sure it's just named Total War: Shogun 2 in the steam library.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, it's weird, I was expecting it as new entry, looking at the store page it looks like a separate game.

Permalink

I guess antipativome above is right.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

oh shit, I totally misread it as being regular Shogun 2. Now I might need to buy this bundle.

It's a standalone game. It takes place 400 years before the main game. You don't need the original game. It has it's own DLC (which is included in the collection - except for the blood pack)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The thing is, if you already own the original game, then, Fall of the Samurai is NOT a standalone game, as it turns out, but just DLCs. Though I was expecting it to be a standalone game, as I did not see this being mentioned before.

Very good games, but 1 keys per Tier, no way!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That was probably the reason for bundling to begin with... getting a mix of games of whose you find some which suit and others less so but at a good price => everything is fine.

Keep in mind those are gotys / dlc editions. If you remotely are a completionist this is a no-brainer then.

I should mention that i still have the DoW I key from one of the past SEGA bundles. I didn't turn it in because of no reason (no will to play). This unwillingless to redeem keys saved me here.

Total War: Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai Collection has not been bundled before, and has never been this cheap.
Total War: Attila has never been bundled before (but has been cheaper)

Changing my answer.
Getting this for the Dawn of War DLC (tier 1), Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai (Tier 2) and Total War Attila (Tier 3)

A waste of the games I already have (everything else) but so be it. It's still a good deal for the pieces I'm missing

Comment has been collapsed.

Shogun 2 Collection has been bundled
Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai has not been bundled, either on its own or as a collection.

From a Steam perspective, it's a completely different game. Shogun 2 Collection included the faction packs, and the Rise of the Samurai campaign, but doesn't include the Fall of the Samurai collection

But with a common game to share... as far as i heard Shogun2 FotS brings in Shogun2 basegame (without its original campaing? don't know)

EDIT: this looks convincing. No idea what the post at reddit was about exactly then...

One key per tier? What is this fuckery?

Going offline to play Forza Horizon 2... where you can only get certain cars in bundles. Which is kind of like one key per tier.

Goddammit.

Is Tier 1 https://steamdb.info/sub/97225/depots/ for ROW or is that the sub for German purchasers only? it has

DepotID 4588 - Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade German - Low Violence
but not
DepotID 4569 - company of heroes low violence

so CoH is uncut while DoW is cut.

EDIT:
I just saw that all ROW bundles of Dark Crusade now contain this "German - Low Violence" depot, and there does not seem to be any other depot for German language support.

Seems like it's ROW keys for everybody here, beyond the Asia region locks thanks to SEGA weirdness.

I bought it at the German steam store and the version is also multilingual despite the sign it is only in German at the store.
As far as I know there is no censored version for Germany. Link to the OGDB
The intro in the demo was changed worldwide in all released versions.
