alright, I'm done bumping this thread.
There are 110 giveaways, of which around a hundred have less than 100 entries - and plenty of GAs are still in the single digits.
Seems like most people don't bother looking for / solving puzzles, and that means they only touch the surface. Anyway, there are some really good giveaways here, and at phenomenal odds, for those willing to venture a little further

Bumperino! I'm trying to get you the interest you deserve. I'd perhaps put "110 giveaways" in your title, some people just mine the forum for giveaways and won't necessarily join the tread without that hook.
Additionally some young 'uns might not know what Zork is!
Don't lose hope though, some people appreciate your efforts!

Most people think they need pen and paper to make a map, and are too lazy to look into digital options.
Also, the final giveaway is appropriately titled. 1 / 21 is great odds.
One that I was really interested in is Level 5+, so that's a bit of a letdown.

Not about disinterest for me so much as timing! Tough to find the time to get through a big puzzle during the holidays! If I remember right, there's still some time before new years, right? Would be nice to know for sure what the deadline(s) is/are. :)

Any idea that you're willing to share of what the overall dimensions of the complete map are? Is it roughly circular/square or more oblong in one dimension? Is the starting point roughly in the center or should I position it in some particular quadrant of the page? Also, do I make the map from my imagined POV or is it "fixed", i.e., if I make a right and want to backtrack, do I go back (down) or left? These are the issues that haunted me back in ye olde days of making maps on parchment.

generally, there are several parts of the map, e.g. above-ground/forest, maze, reservoir/dam, etc.
Each area is somewhat self-contained, but the map isn't entirely fixed -> there are 3 maze areas, and there are places that aren't quite logical, e.g. going north and then having to go west to return to where you were
you could always google a map. while it'll help somewhat, you're most likely to get a map for the home release Zork I, rather than the mainframe version that I based this event on.
note: there is a mapping error right at the start. It won't affect your progress, but it'll make mapping screwy right off the beginning

Thanks for setting this up, it was fun exploring the many MANY areas(soooooo many tabs XD) and
the way that you access hidden giveaways is especially clever and interesting.
I know i won't have done everything but i'm happy with what i did, so here's a bump!

Even if there weren't a lot of people running through this one, I really enjoyed it. I hope you do something similar again some day.

If you want help plotting it all out I can recommend something, just add me on Steam

plotting is just a matter of busywork, no need for any kind of tools. Just keep in mind that this event had 112 locations (including the dead ends), and each of those locations needed the applicable text and the correct links (and that's not even taking into account the forest/maze/mine.
My original plan, BTW, included 18 different copies of Bad Rats for the maze, and a similar amount of useless GAs for the mine. When I actually considered the feasibility, well, you saw what I did instead.

It's completely feasible, you just need a better / easier way of mapping things. Once this is over, I can send you an image of what I am using, so you'll see how easy it was for me to get through this place.

Wonderful work here.. I wish I would have discovered this thread sooner to explore. Of course, I might have just ended up playing Zork the whole time, like I have for the last hour and a half....

Aaaand, I'm through! 111/110 (One of those being an old dead end. And two aside from that one that ended during the event (nothing big that adventurers would be likely to miss though).)
Wonderful puzzle adventure dingbat -- thoroughly enjoyed it!
I hadn't played the original Zork much beyond the first few rooms, so getting to experience it in a more "modern" way without typing all the text commands and having clicky navigation was really quite nice. Missing out on many of the puzzles that are hinted at from room descriptions is a bit unfortunate, but I don't think I'd honestly have the patience for some of those anymore these days. And having that version of Zork in particular was cool -- definitely some new things I hadn't seen or read about before!
Thank you again, to you, and all the contributors, as well as the people running through the Zork world!

I want to thank the contributors without whom this event wouldn't have been possible: blackendEvn, Delisper, DrP, epica, Goldes, HiroHiro, KingJZ, MancSoulja, Nask0, quan1503, rayl1ght, thecrzyguy, Traqie, Zogrob
I'm sorry there's so little interest in it.
Here's the original game
