Howdy! I meet the criteria I believe and truly enjoy simulation games, which includes management and city builders. My recent favorite has to be Autonauts as I enjoyed the cute appearance and became invested in trying to optimize my system. A few others would be Farm Together, My Time At Portia, & Planet Zoo!

Rimworld is my drug. It's fun to slowly get better, and I like following my pawns as they do their jobs. A great story simulator.

Sorry i can't get you back until you try : Astrea six sided oracles
Feel free to blacklist me if i'm an horrible person.

Not at all. Only recently got back into gaming after not having access to a PC since July, a lot of old wins to try, it's been hard to even download them with my current internet speed lel. You won't lose your WL for something like this.

It's not definitive anyway, as soon as it's tried i'll take you back aboard.
Also wish you happy gaming !

I'd like to participate. My favorite is a good one, but for some reason I don't see people getting crazy about it. Against the storm. I fancy roguelikes, and find a roguelite/city builder was a weird trip, and I loved it.

Didn't know this one ! Good find ! The map reminds me roguebook. You're blue welcome ! (3/20)

Not here for the whitelist or anything (mainly because city builders aren't my thing) but I really enjoyed Cartel Tycoon, although quite flawed, I still think it's quite charming. I could probably also enjoy Mini Motorways, which is a city builder in technicality I guess? I never understood why people would pay hundreds of bucks for Rimworld or Factorio. Factorio does look pretty intriguing.
Comment has been collapsed.
Cartel tycoon never had seen it before, i'll take a look.
Mini motorways you just connect two buildings by a road, like mini metro where you set your optimized metro plan.
About factorio there are players who like to set giant factories. But it's really a headhache. They have big brains.
Comment has been collapsed.
Sheltered & Satisfactory, I can stay and build, I can explore, I can fight, lots of things to do. I don't need whitelist, I just want to share the games. :)

Seems like I meet the criteria, so I'll give it a go.
My favourite city builder has to be Anno 1800. I played it a bunch (sadly not on steam as it has 999 expensive dlcs :P) and I have to say it reminds me a lot of Republic of Pirates, at least from what I've seen from its trailer and screenshots.
What I enjoyed about it is when you build something, you have to carefully choose a location and suddenly you need like 3 other buildings which in some way support it or its people, basically managing everything and everyone, how from a small colony with only a few houses, you suddenly get to a sprawling city which you have to make sure keeps up with times, your neighbours (and making a mistake of declaring everyone your enemies while being sure of yourself, but then it biting you in the ass) and is self-sustainable.
Also big part of what I liked were its ships and colonies. I remember how once I needed a special material or something to advance and I didn't have it on my main one so had to transfer it via ships, but as I had many enemies in between those 2 islands, it turned into an unnecessarily nightmarish operation.
Comment has been collapsed.
You're exactly on point ! Yes Republic of pirates is a more simple and straight to the point Anno-like (the warehouses are shared between the isles so there is no need to set trade roads) with a specific ambiance (its own story, and an outstanding sound ambiance).
Also Anno 1800 is amazing i agree !

Yes every time you select a ship the sailors sing ! XD
Just for that what a game !

I also enjoyed Autonauts, but my favourite in this genre would be probably Prison Architect. It's deep without being complicated. It allows you to plan on a large scale, and still every person in your prison seems to have its own individual features. Last but not least: there's no way to not love the game where you can become a prisoner in a jail you have designed, and try to escape!
Comment has been collapsed.
I loved prison architect so much too, that's an amazing game for sure you're right ! (i played it 60h but didn't purchased the dlc yet so there are probably still a lot of content)

I'd like in, and I do fit the criteria.
Favorite would have to be Hinterland. It's great because you can solve all your problems by leaving town and slaying monsters. :)

I admit to not know this one at all, will watch some youtube gameplay just out of curiosity !
Also welcome ! (8/20)

But that could be me! Just give a blueheart and will make sure that you don't even need to unblueheart! ;3 that will take care of itself in 1+ day, LIMITED ACCOUNT POWER BABY!!
Simcity 3000 was a blast back in the day, always on red in money until getting casino. Then all flowerhat whiners came with complains and people moved away. Next thing did know goddamn earthquake leveled half of the city (casino included). City was broke, wallet was broke and heart was broke, but at least complaits did still come in. ;-;

Awo thanks for your explanation. (From that i understand that you'll leave, well you've your reasons.)
But i sympathize with your sim city story, i litteraly lost a computer that auto-restarted on sim city 2000 on a loop (the computer just wanted to play that yep maybe because i just played that)
Comment has been collapsed.
Can somehow still hear that weird screechy sound when played Simcity 3000, not sure if the audio file was corrupted/bugged or something, but sounded horrible and loud. Almost like old PC having true bit going sideways moment and PC Speaker giving it's best (worst) performance. x.x
RIP to the old PC, damned be the Simcity 2000 (even if you did enjoy it) for caving poor computer in. :(

Hey hey now, let's not get anyone banned for multiaccounting. I'm more of infamous ex user on the site, coming for a little relief due one event nothing more. Took screen for as example to show "Limited Account" does exist. :D

No worries, Happy to help! :D Practically no joining giveaway, making them, making new topics and all of your personal things you provided are now under cg's ownership or something something legal jargon, but like with EULA's can't be bothered and just pushed ok. :D
Now that think of it, wonder what kind of horrible control those selected few games and their EULA's have over me. ;-;

my favourite management game gotta be rimworld, it's sooo easy to put many hours into it, it's a story simulator and I love the idea of starting with a small ragtag colony and turning it into an empire (definently not by committing warcrimes)

I try so much to not buy this one and you're so many to enjoy it ! It's probably without reasons ! ;)

Do you have a city builder in mind ?
I mean this one looks like a RPG with management part, but i was thinking more about games like Big Pharma or Dyson or this sort of things for management.

That's gold Frostpunk is such an universal masterpiece ! ^_^

I'm not sure if this counts but it would be Sid Meier's Civilization VI it's a game for many hours I like the most that you can win the game in several ways and there are a lot of civilizations but if it doesn't count it would be prison architect I like that you have to constantly build up the prison and make sure no one escapes I also like that there is an option to escape from prison

I love both really. Both games are real time-eaters, you start and then it's already tomorrow.

My favorite management games are Stellaris and Goal United.
Long time ago, I have a potato laptop, and it can't handle FIFA Manager.
I can't recall how I discovered Goal United, an online football management web game, but I stuck with it for about 4 years.
It has player name in my native language. I think that trading football players with other players is more fun than playing solo.
Stellaris, I bought it when it went on sales for cheaper than a bow of pho.
It's very addictive. I wake war, I meant, make peace to the whole galaxy.
Don't play these games now due to time constraints.
I spent more than 200 hours in Stellaris, but have 0 achievement. So, I doubt that I could satisfy the condition of unlocking 2 achievement within 3 months.
Comment has been collapsed.
You were already in my blue list (i don't remember from when don't ask me, i don't remove you now don't worry)
The 2 rep of pirates achievements required have been unlocked by 80 and 75% of players, it's definitely possible in less than 5h playtime.
But you're your own judge about that.
Never played stellaris, but i loved endless space. Not sure about the proximity between both games though.

On an off-topic comment, I've just acquired Slice & Dice on Android recently. It's perfect to kill time while commuting. I recommend it if you could cope with the RNG aspect. I think it's also released on Steam some months ago.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's a hard question for me because it's one my top favourite genres. So I cannot just point a one game and leave. :)
Not going to give them an order either but I'll name three: Anno 1404, Tropico 4 and Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic. Anno 1404 has a great supply chain and I really like to calculate when things get bigger. It has ships and I like ships. I think the only down part of it is the city have to be grid, no curves or angles. Tropico 4 may be a lot casual than others but it's another great management game, has nice humour too. I haven't really started playing Soviet Republic but I got it to support the dev when it was in early access. I was going to play it once it's out of EA though I meddled with it a little. It has almost everything I have dreamed of from a city builder and it got it hardcore, which I like that aspect very much. You basically manage every little thing, it's a management heaven or hell, for some.
Anyway, my time left here is small but couldn't say no to this offer. ^^
Comment has been collapsed.
It's an heresy but i started Anno after 1404 also i loved 2205 but i know that for Anno fans it was an affront.
(Hey but at least we all love 1800 !)
Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic
Now i've an eye on this one thanks ! 👀
You're in 12/20 !
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanks!
Yeah, Anno fans love history and no idea what was Ubisoft thinking when they made 2070. And funny enough they got even further and made 2205 too. However, if you liked 2205 I'm pretty sure you'll like 1404, more than 2205 as well. :)
I like sci-fi but city management games is the last place I want to see it. It just doesn't feel organic to me that way.
Now i've an eye on this one thanks ! 👀
No problem! ^^ It's a unique game in this genre. If you like things like that there is one more up in my sleeves. It's still early access and its main focus is trains but it's unique as well.

my favorite city building game is frostpunk. i watched a lot of gameplay on youtube and i love it especially for the music and the atmosphere it creates

I won't remove the recently added after the end of rep of pirates.

Hello there, I do believe I meet the conditions XD. My favorite management game is Oxygen Not Included because it just has a lot of stuff and things you have to be aware of constantly. There's an in game encyclopedia with a list of everything in the game, and I just love that feature.
I've yet to beat the game, but that's just because I'm preety slow and cautious with every move I make.

Ah i'm shameful i refunded this one (i found it extremely slow) ! XD
Will watch again some more gameplay now that you talj about it.

Looks pretty and as I am currently enjoying Tropico 2: Pirate Cove I say: Aaargh! :D
I have never really played Anno or Sid Meier games, but I do enjoy building/management/RTS games. From my childhood years, I would pinpoint Warcraft 2, Caesar III, Pharaoh, Settlers... to which I come back regularly. From the newer ones, I love Banished for its simple and wholesome approach. Reus (and now its sequel Reus 2) belongs among my favorites although it's not exactly a typical building/management game.
I enjoy the addictive part of these games when I say that I will go to sleep after I check on this building/farm/army... yeah, it's bad for my sleeping routine. xD
Comment has been collapsed.
I didn't play the original so take my opinion with a grain of salt,
but devs fixed a lot of bugs since release and it's seriously addictive.
I'm now at 70h playtime.

These criterias aren't weird enough!
I used to love Port Royal as kid, bought a newer version of game some time ago and it kinda missed right feel anymore. My most favourite management game is Planet zoo I guess... cause you are building a zoo. I really enjoy it, but what I really hate is system of endless dlcs.
Comment has been collapsed.
I won't make a competition with you about weirdness !!
Who doesn't love Planet zoo ?
Blued (ok you're blue but not counted)
Comment has been collapsed.
Only weird people wouldn't love Planet zoo!! I kinda miss option that has been in Zoo tycoon 2, where you could walk amount animals and do zookeepers job. Cause... these npcs are just terrible, sometimes they re-enter same exhibition five times before they fill food bowls, it turns me insane.
Please, save a spot, I just were in chatting mood.
Comment has been collapsed.
I had a lot of fun on zoo tycoon 1, but the 2nd isn't on steam so never tried but you can already do it in the 1st one (walk around).
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't really recall it in first game. I know you could grab a visitor and place him on different place... like into exhibit of lions. Saw some time ago there is Zoo tycoon ultimate on steam, but by reviews I read it isn't like the old one, people a lot complained on controls being suitable more for consoles.
Comment has been collapsed.
I know you could grab a visitor and place him on different place... like into exhibit of lions
Nop i couldn't do that in 1st one for sure. It's a very sims in the pool feeling.
It's really made to be played with a controller yes.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah, wait, you played Zoo tycoon Ultimate animal collection on steam? That might be why we remember different features. New one is more like combination of older ones. Cause I am 100% sure I could put people into exhibits or shark pools in marine dlc (it was my favourite part of game).
Comment has been collapsed.
You're terrible ! But that's why you're famous here.
Comment has been collapsed.
Used to play the heck out of the original Sid Meyer's Pirates ^^ Didn't know Republic of Pirates, thanks for showcasing it.
Currently, my most enjoyed management game would be Oxygen Not Included. Absolutely love the art style and how the little duplicant buggers always seem to get in trouble.
Has a large learning curve as mechanics unfold (compounded by further DLC), but still fun and enjoyable, the two main traits for me.
Comment has been collapsed.
I should really watch again this game, you're already the 2nd fan !
Blued ! (17/20)
Comment has been collapsed.
Klei always outdo themselfves on the art, so that's the first step that pulls a person in. Then the silliness just wins you over.
If you like those and complexity, time to catch up on the current state of the game. Went to read your above comment, you're right that it starts slow... with so much going on, though, the pressure quickly mounts as your discover how to handle stuff. I find it locks in best when you're already with more experience... until then just play for trial-and-error (which I totally didn't, always try to save everyone in my first colonies and it's a complete mess).
Thank you to the blue (mutual), and the chance at Republic of Pirates :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Not that weird! 😆 (not entering, not interested)
I rarely play management games/city builders. Does Little Big Workshop (which I won here!) count? I love dioramas and similar stuff, and this is like, a miniature factory on a table. Thought it looked super cute, and I won it. :D I really enjoyed my time on it (30+ hours, and plan on playing it again at a later time).
Comment has been collapsed.
I finished this one too from a bundle, it was surprisingly good you're right to mention it.
