Haven't bumped this yet, so here's a well deserved bump for nice history lesson.. I tried them without googling, but it turns out I really need to boost my history knowledge! I only knew Q3/8/9.. ashamed

I just love this puzzle! Only seen and started now but I LOVE it!

Now two persons have commented on question 5 and my comment on modern neo-nazi groups, so I think a short explanation for the non-Swedes out there might be in order:
Charles XII is an infected subject in Sweden, to the point that it's actually hard to talk about him without giving a context. The reason for this is that he is often viewed as a "warrior king", something that a lot of neo-Nazi groups have latched onto. He is, by them, viewed as something of a symbol of "Swedish power", and a lot of nazi-propaganda use him as a form of front symbol. In fact, they often draw parallels between him and Hitler, and it is this view that makes it such an infected subject. Outside of Sweden I take it that relatively few actually have this view of him (if you're from a country that was at war with Sweden during his reign, it's possible that he is portrayed as an "enemy", but probably not as Hitler).
Actually, one can draw some parallels between him and Hitler. He had many early military successes, got hubris and tried to take Moscow, lost miserably and his country ended up in ruin.

And I actually had to do a bit of research about a band as well. Baron Khazadson pointed out that there was a band that made an album about him. While I knew of this album, I did not know that it was translated to English. Due to the album cover, I was a bit unsure about their political allegiance, but they are apparently strongly anti-nazi, even if the cover of that particular album looks like something straight out of some Swedish Nazi propaganda. For those into metal (not me ;) ) and history, here is the song in English, and in Swedish. And apparently quite a few white power groups were upset by this, as they first though the album was for them (found quite a few vile comments when doing my research).
