So as some of you may know my grandfather recently passed away, I went from playing steam games everyday to not at all. I have a lot of games and know that people may worry I will not play my wins but I actually plan to play my wins before anything else. I have just been so depressed lately I haven't really had the heart of concentration to play anything. I am very sorry if the delay is an issue for anyone. If it is just let me know and I will refrain from entering your giveaways. Thank you all.

Vampkitty69,
My condolences. Please don't be concerned about people blacklisting you when you're struggling with your grandfather's death. Do something you like, do something that makes you happy in this dark hour of your life. Don't pressure yourself into playing games you don't want to play when you've got to take care of yourself.

It may not be much, but I am whitelisting you so that you don't miss out :)

Take care.

condolence to you. dont even think about those silly and pointless issues you mentioned, you got a loss of a dear person to absorb in order to find the right balance for moving forward with your life. and i wish you to take your time and find it, as that is the only direction we all can take.

best regards.

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my grandpa 10 years ago :( he was my father figure and I miss him so much. I even stopped going to my part time job cause I was so depressed. It's okay to take your time. <3 All the love to you.

Rough times. All the best to you and your family. Grab your tissues people, another story time with Teliko. Strange way to look at it but I've been somewhat "lucky" in that I haven't really had to deal with such losses due to being adopted into a family with slightly older than your average parents, so all my grandparents had actually passed away by the time I was about 5 years old which wasn't really enough time to become emotionally acquainted with them, then my father's extended family live overseas so I've never really gotten to know them, and my mother's side all live at the most southern part of the country you can go so again I barely know her side either, so when certain aunts/uncles etc have passed away in recent years, again it never really affected me. Basically I grew up in the middle of absolutely nowhere in the countryside surrounded by nothing but sheep shitting in fields and my own direct family.

I'm at the age of 25 and the most emotional death I've had to deal with so far was my cat Oliver when I was 9 (yes, I named him after Oliver & Company). Definitely a rare position to be in, or at least I would have thought anyway. Again you could say it's lucky for someone to go this long without having to deal with that part of life (death), but the more I think about it, the more I consider it an important part of the stages of growing up, as I'm pretty much left unprepared for those kind of events and have a lot of fears with how I'll actually take dealing with the first major death of a close acquaintance, mostly because I don't want it to end up being my parents as, I dunno, I guess I'd like to have practice beforehand? It's difficult to describe. Adoption can be pretty damn weird and whacky sometimes.

You do not have to apologize to anyone! Life will sometimes throw stuff at you that you have to deal with. There is no way around it. And life takes precedence over the internet!

So you deal with your life, and your games (and your internet friends!) will be there whenever you're ready!

I'm sorry for your loss. Please, accept my condolences. I hope you can get the strength you need to hold on and overpass in this situation, because I already loss my grandma (the last one) some years ago, and I know it's not easy. Don't worry about the bl drama, and do with your time what is best for you. Some people tend to judge so fast without knowning everyone personal situation. I give you a big hug :)

For what it matters, bar New Vegas, I pretty much never played anything I've won here and I don't feel even a wee bit bad for it.

Now that I think about it my "7 less gifts" stat isn't that bad after all...

Very sorry to hear about your grandfather, Vampy. Real life (should) always takes precedence over SG, so do what you need to do, because SG will always be here for you.

I'm sorry you lost a family member. :(
I lost my grandmother when I was young (9 or 10) but it just doesn't hit me like
my cousin (treated me like a brother) passed when I was 18.

It might take a while but I hope you can feel better eventually. :)

I'm really sorry to hear you lost your grandfather, my condolences.

Hopefully you will find your gaming groove again but being away from games for a while isn't the worst thing. Just do whatever you feel most like doing and things will get on track for you, whatever they might be.

One of the drawbacks of getting older is losing your friends and relatives. I've lost a bunch of family and friends, but the person I miss the most is my mother's mother. We were very close, and she was an amazing lady and the heart of the family. If you don't mind, I'll offer you a few bits of advice.

  1. The dead never truly leave us. This was already mentioned by Ibaleman, but it's worth repeating. The value of a person's life is in the way they touched the lives of others, and that continues on after death. Treasure your memories and the things your grandfather taught you.
  2. If you haven't done anything wrong, don't worry about being blacklisted. People that blacklist you for "dumb" reasons are never worth worrying about. The nice people whose giveaways you want to enter won't blacklist you for stuff like that. There will always be people in the world who do not like you, so focus on those who do.
  3. Get out of the house and mingle. Depression is a liar and will trap your mind in a bad place. One of the simplest defenses is to be around other people who have a good frame of mind. You are already reaching out to others, and you can see them responding in this forum thread. I'm sure you do miss your grandfather, but think about what he would say were he to see you right now. I doubt he would want you to be stuck in depression.
