A lot of people have been suggesting not to remove paypal - this puts you at greater risk. The best thing to do is kill steam with task manager, as looking at store pages increases the risk of someone being on your account.

I'm glad I've bought from GoG, Origin, and uPlay instead of solely buying from Steam though. People can talk crap about the DRM, but whatever, idc, a game is a game.

Origin got down, Uplay got down, Psn down, XboxLive down. Think they all got too greedy and never bother to invest into security infrastructure. Though EA and PSN defended a bit longer than the rest which seems they did some improvement from last year.

You're completely right! They all are! My point is that Steam is makes so much more and is so much larger than all the companies you just mentioned that there is no excuse for it to be running on a skeleton crew. I know it's Christmas, so of course there are only a small amount of people working today, but it could have been any day with a significant overload tbh.

True. I find people who absolutely need everything to be from Steam stupid. I prefer physical copies (most of which end up being Steamworks anyway....), but for digital, I just buy where they have the best deal.

I just experienced a rather worrying anomaly in steam.
I was using my browser and just browsing the store page, when I noticed that my avatar had changed. Worried that I got hacked, I checked my profile, and found out that I was logged in as another user (someone from South Africa who I had never heard of). Went back to the store page and found myself logged out, but the storepage was in Finnish. Tried to switch back to English and then it was suddenly in Russian. I've been logged in on the steam client as well, and nothing changed there. Same avatar, no messages about someone trying to log in on my account or anything like that.
