I'm hiding about 3-5 games daily xD Sometimes it's like 20 per day xD And not only showelware but also games that are simply not interesting for me.
As for blacklisting - I did it only once for that reason. Certain user was making about 10-20 giveaways daily and I was adding them all to my hidden list. Then I felt that I waste too much time on this xD

I find it easier using ESGST to filter out all shovelware instead of hiding it all one by one

Times ago, if was possible to read through CD covers in whole store and keep what you learned in memory. Getting a game or recommendation from someone else irl was the most sure way to find good games. Sometimes there were useful reviews in gaming journals from a library.
Fast forwarding to Steam, at some point it felt like a good idea - what if it is possible to check through games which have been existing "in the world", incrementally feel whole context of "all PC games", discover your gems, refine taste, discard what is not worth encountering twice adding latter to the Ignore list..? No.. realized a couple of things for myself.
Not without a big role of Steam itself, PC game industry became an abomination of sorts, allowing transgressions no gaming platform in history could ever imagine, with "digital products" with no established quality control appearing in great numbers. Almost not possible to process, or rather, maybe not worth the constant effort. Steaming heap of trash and cemetery parts for sale either for special clientele or occasional unlucky fool, situated under a tiny shop of actual real games. Steam goes to lengths to engineer "own atmosphere" with all these levels, markets etc.
Essentially it was hard even to browse through heavily discounted and otherwise filtered titles.
Years later found out that, surprisingly, SG serves as a good solution to more than one Steam "feature". A way to magnify attention to both real games someone counts to be worth gifting, and somewhat accessible at the moment games (highlighting bundles and good deals). And this is getting balanced and going on by community itself.
For first time I was able to get the feeling of "whole PC gaming world" for current decade by looking into the games being gifted here. To organize my own knowledge and understanding of games, to find out what I may like, improve taste. Change perception to more certain. And 17,359 games hidden on SG are a side effect of this ;3 I believe while PC games remain part of my life, it will be worthwhile checking SG out; this is more than taking part in GAs or giving gifts.
Good lord.. what a wall

Hi all! I'm just curious about how many games each of you have hidden on SteamGifts? Also, do you spend a lot of time to hide all the shovelware that usually comes from small indie bundles? I've recently started a crusade of my own to purge the giveaways that I'll never check out even if I win them. So far I have about 50 pages of hidden games.
One last thing, do you prefer hiding the games you don't wish to see or do you blacklist the people that most often create those giveaways?
