What do You guys think about blacklist revenge?
the sooner you stop caring what other random people think about you on the internet the better off you'll be.. Thankfully now the rule is in place if someone blacklist you, they get blacklisted in return (I think that's the way blacklist works now right?)
If someone wants to blacklist you because you have an opinion they don't share, who cares, unless you're someone who doesn't contribute at all, someone blacklisting you, will ultimately mean you're the better person anyway..

Yeah, don't worry, I don't care for over a decade :)

If you have some games and you think someone else is kind of a jerk, why would you want to give that jerk one, or possible several, of your free games? You wouldn't walk down the street and give candy to people you dislike. People have lots of individual criteria about what makes someone a jerk.
Honestly, I don't understand why some people have chosen this particular website to post opinionated threads about politics and society and whatnot. This is a place where you can give away games and maybe win some. There's the whole rest of the internet to vent your opinions, and very likely to a much bigger audience. Make your opinionated/passionate/trolling posts anywhere else and try winning some free games here.
Winning free games is nice.

I don't care who gets my game. And I definitely won't judge somone for having different opinions. I can judge murderers or rapist, but why would I ever won't give a game because someone don't like the game I do?
Let we begin with that, I wouldn't give a candy to any strangers for no reason. But when You were a kid, You definitely got candies on Your b-day and take them to school, right? And You definitely gave the candies to everyone, cause this is what makes You not a jerk. You didn't judge, did You? This is what non jerk person does.
I don't post here any politics etc stuff, but people post any stuff on sites they regularly visit. And some people visit this site so often. If You are on MLP forum, You can also see categories like "politics, music" or anything not related to ponies. When You go to forum about CS, You can also see similar categories. It's because people chose some community because they like sth, but they are not only liking that one thing and like to share opinions about other things. And really, this is not the only website that are used to posting non-related things. It's actually everywhere.
And yeah, winning a free game is nice. Especially that You can earn money on it ;)

personally i'm looking multiple times on my stats but i don't care about the wl/bl chart.

I don't care either. I just check to make my mood "gooder" :D Like "oh, they blacklisted me again, because I said I don't want to play Skyrim, hehehe" :> I have so many unpopular opinions, so I can even trigger people on purpose xD And I actually do that often on the Internet. Half-consiously.

I like it when mad little kids blacklist me...they never give anything away, so I lose nothing, and then they can't enter my giveaways, and I give a LOT of games away at a time... :)

turns out it only looks petty and childish if you take the time to check that profile, and i really have no reason to do so

I also blacklist for opinions, but not because someone does not like some game. Blacklisting because of racist, sexist, humiliating, hateful opinions (comments). Also blacklisting bots, rule breakers and people I dislike :)
IMHO "blacklist revenge" is something else, it sounds like "blacklisting because blacklisted by someone" and that does not feel like a clever move since blacklist works 2-ways.

I always check my stats after I say sth on discussions and laugh when my blacklist counter increases, cause those people are ridiculous. Not that I care.
Right.

why would you want to blacklist someone otherwise ? people can and do blacklist me/hate me for any reason. shouldn't they be free to do so ? i guess it would become an issue from the moment they are causing me harm because of it. but due to causes and effects, don't you cause "harm" and "good" regardless of your opinion of anything anyways ? think of it the opposite way : if they can't cause harm by cause and effect form hating, why shouldn't they be free to hate you ? and, as i said, since it's pretty much likely to happen and unavoidable, then a "solution" could be the removal of the blacklist system altogether
i'm probably dizzy so if anyone reads this and don't understand what i'm saying and want to know go ahead and ask so

In my view the problem is not the blacklist, it's people can't dealing with that a random person somewhere on the globe, one amongst the thousands on Steamgifts, doesn't want to give them a free game. Many people try to compensate this with "I don't even care about BL, I just casually check it every day", or try to play edgy because the more blacklists one has, the more they are against the flow, how cool is that? Blacklists serve more purpose than angsty kids blacklisting someone, or base for complaining for someone who was blacklisted, it's really not a good incentive to remove it just because it's hard to deal with it for some people who still have some growing up to do :)

So, you made a special topic to tell us how much you don't care? Nice!

I always revenge blacklist because I had people remove their blacklist when I did a direct AAA giveaway in the forums.
They didn't win so they reblacklisted me but I knew already xD

That's why the two-way blacklist doesn't work. People can remove their blacklist and enter your giveaway and later blacklist you again.
There must be a way to see who blacklisted you. I don't know the "drama", the people talk about that would happen if we can see who blacklisted us.

Wdym? Does the blacklist stay for 6 days even after you un-blacklist someone?

Well users can use their blacklist however they like, really. I hardly ever use it. I like whitelisting good guys better. :)

Blacklists are reciprocal, so they are just potentially hurting themselves. If you don't want to be blacklisted, never use the forum and otherwise follow site rules and you shouldn't ever be.

I don't really care. Posting anything in the forum is enough for some people to get in their blacklists.

I noticed (not today, but long time ago actually) that people tend to blacklist revenge on someone, who they don't like. It's not like someone is breaking the rules or is vulgar. They are using blacklisting on people that have opinion, they hate. So if someone tells Skyrim is poor game, they are triggered and use blacklist revenge.
I always check my stats after I say sth on discussions and laugh when my blacklist counter increases, cause those people are ridiculous. Not that I care. If someone is not smart enough to not do that, then, well...
But what do You think about that behaviour?
