SteamGIfts Users, how was your first time winning a key from here?

I registered on Sep 8th 2018 and had my first win on Sep 20th from the Unlucky 7 group. So if you really want to win, my tip would be to joining some groups or events/puzzles, cause the probability to win is much higher.

For people below 8 wins the group Unlucky 7 comes to mind. If you are serious about playing your wins Playing Appreciated (though I think there is a recruitment stop atm) or events like Play or Pay (PoP) or Play A Game You Won On Steamgifts (works also if you haven't won anything yet)

It was like a rainbow wrapped around a cherry popsicle.

So, funny thing is: I technically registered on May of 2016, but I didn't really started using the site for real until December of 2017.

What happened is that I found Steamgifts, saw that there were giveaways of games for free, decided to enter a few giveaways (because who doesn't like free games?), and then when I didn't immediately won decided "meh, this isn't worth it..." and stopped visiting the site altogether.

Then, one year and a half later, I found the site again, decided to give it another shot and I won my first game Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP! It felt pretty good and it made realize: "Well I'll be damned, this site actually works!". And then the rest is history. :)

I'll admit though, back then I entered giveaways kind of impulsively. So as a result there are a few giveaways, particularly the ones for multiplayer only games (games which I'll probably never play since I generally play singleplayer), which I regret entering for. But overall, I really enjoy my time on this site!

So don't feel too bad if you don't win anything at first, just keep going and eventually your time will come! :D

I won my first giveaway, Time Recoil, in 21 days, about 1200 giveawas entered. I think I was lucky, and up to today, stats keep telling me so.

Now it's not about time passing and how many giveaways you've entered. It is also about what giveaways you can see (level, groups, whitelists), what giveaways you find or puzzle to enter (invite only) and which of those ones have 25 entries or 12,000.

I used to kinda enter anything that didn't look terrible. Now I'm more picky and I enter only I games I want to play and have in my library. I'm slowly going down in number of gibs entered per month, and I try to be more selective now that my library and backlog are too big.

The first game I won here was Squishy the Suicidal Pig. This is before you could set giveaways with region restrictions. They key I got was from eastern Europe or something. I tried activating the key and it ended up in my Steam inventory. I set the giveaway as Received.

Some months later I received a 5 day suspension for having an unactivated win. Great start I had with Steamgifts.

back in time, it was different, there was minimum toxicity and we were chatting and playing games until dawn.

There were many groups based on these friendships, and it did not take long to win games from there. Also, there were surprise and puzzle giveaways where I won my first. I was also making better giveaways comparing today.

It took about 2 months and just over 1000 entries if I remember correctly.
It was Marooners. The first key was a dupe and the gifter replaced it, which is really cool because it doesn't always happen with dupes.
I won 3 more that same month and my 5th win was Tomb Raider, which was a pretty big GA at the time.
I had only made 4 giveaways when I won my first game because I was not sure about the site yet but I started making GAs more regularly after that.

I usually only entered giveaway for a game that looks interesting to me so the chance to win is low most of the time.
Won Duke Nukem Forever as my first and currently playing it.

My first win was 6 months after joining, and it was a pretty high chance of winning as it was a 20,000 copy giveaway. (and had about 27,000 entries).

Back then I kind of joined everything, but then I realised I wasn't interested in a lot of those games. So I started being more selective with what I entered. So in the last 4 years I have rarely, if ever run out of my 400 point cap when entering, and I am usually only in a small number of giveaways. For instance I'm only currently entered into 7 giveaways right now. This can change if a game I want is bundled, and a lot of people start to give it away, but most of the time I don't enter that much. Which I guess explains how I have 6,700 entries in the past 7 years registered on this site.

First win was binding of isaac and I was happy to have won it but ultimately did not like thebgame at the time.

The second win however was cs go and i was so happy to have won a "proper aaa" game.
But yeah, now after 10 years on sg, I really rarely enter GAs, just the ones I really want to play which is figuratively once in a blue moon

Took me 3 days to win something, originally I joined to see if the website was a scam so I was kinda entering everything. I've stayed a lot longer than anticipated. If you want to win stuff, I suggest getting to lvl 3-5, getting to 3 is super easy, but at the halfway point I found a lot more higher quality games opening up to me.

If you plan on staying for more than just giveaways, there are plenty of chill groups to join with really good communities/discords.

I registered in February 2016. The first game I won was Rocket League in May 2016 when it was part of a Humble Bundle. I was very exited. I was Level 0 at the time.

I don't remember exactly how.
It seemed easy as only 3 entries on a private giveaway for DLC. I had 3 months after my registration date, but it probably was my first time active on Steamgifts. My stats only shows me almost all time, but missing until 3 months after my registration date (the month I had my first won). On that month, I entered 120 giveaways.
