10 years on Steam!

9 years here... started with Half-Life 2.

5 years and my first game was Counter Strike:Source :P

Hehe, I have my 10 years badge too, and it was to play DOD too ;).
(DOD 3.1 is still better than DOD Source)

I've got a long way to go.

I should have 6 or 7 years but forgot my account and the e-mail i registered it to so now i only have 4. Although i started buying games for it last year.

10 years ago I was still in high school :/.

Wow, that's really impressive. :) I've been using it for more than five years now, since October 2008. Come to think of it, I really have no idea why I made it, mainly because I started using it regularly around 2011.

I joined in April 2010 when Steam launched for Mac OS, and Valve offered a free copy of Portal to every new user who signed up. My MacBook wasn't powerful enough to run the game, but I figured "Hey, free Portal! I might use this some day!" I bought a gaming PC two years later, so hooray.
