When you ask about RPG, you really should define what it is.

And don't do that like PC Gamer, when they first say "RPG game means dialogues that matter and rich storytelling and rich companions" and then they put Diablo on their list - which has no dialogues, so-so storytelling (I guess it has nice story, but walls-of-monologues aren't the way to tell it) and no companions...

Unless you just want to see world on fire :)

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

The first game I ever played, in that franchise. No matter how good a game is nowadays, no matter how much I love a game, no game will ever come close to make me feel those emotions I felt while playing that game for the first time. Oblivion was meh, Skyrim was awesome, but Morrowind was/is/will always be the best.

rpg or jrpg? they're totally different genre. I'll assume you mean rpg and say i recently played dnd anthology(i liked planescape) off the top of my head

Diablo: Hellfire, that music in the village.... Forever in heart.

Dungeon and Dragons as board game was very funny for me as roleplaying game :d

Grandia 2. Millenia was a great character and the game's full of happy and sad moments

Of recent? Probably New Vegas...all time Neverwinter Nights.
