If you wanna add them all to your account quickly and easily. Log into steam with the browser and run this from the store page. http://pastebin.com/ENuNZsyw just copy paste it into your browser console and hit enter. Now you have all the F2P games on your account. This is for people that like hoarding games or if you want a little free exp.

Enjoy!

-IMPORTANT EDIT. Valve seems to have patched F2P games from giving EXP. I still have all my games for now. I suspect they will vanish at some point though. User lunboks was kind enough to post a script to remove free licenses on page 4. You might still need to remove some manually though.

If I'm getting some errors, does that mean I have some of the games already?

Dunno why I added but did so anyways. Went up around 105 games and now I need about 69 exp to get to the next level. o.o

You missed few thing. So I made a separate script to add just those missing. http://pastebin.com/Yq6dL7Ts

Edit: I found 2 new ones. I've edited the link.

Why would i do that if i'm not playing 99% of those games?

Because I think the others are probably little kids who are stupid enough to brag about free stuff... "Hey! Look at mah number of gaems!!11!1!11!one!!"...
And maybe people who think that 100XP is a lot... lol...

Sure, but achievements are earned compared to the free games (you just have to enter a line in the console to get them...). And I'm not one of those "kids" if you assumed so, because I do it for myself and don't brag about it.

You can have achivements with some cheats so ...
And it's always better than people who buys cards to get badges for XP.

You (not you personally...) must be really sad if you use cheats to unlock achievements. Unlocking an achievement is a challenge (in some games), so there's no point (for sane people) in giving you the achievement if you can't get it normally.

"And it's always better than people who buys cards to get badges for XP." I respect your choice, but don't forget that WE buy YOUR cards, so don't complain...

to the 1st part: ever heard about Playfire?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, but I got bored of it. It was not very practical to go on their site, find the latest rewards, etc... Also their sync system isn't really great (at least for me and two months ago).
Edit: and it's not for $0.50 that I'm going to play a game in particular, I play games I want to play.

I agree in parts, though that system actually "made" me play some games that I might have never played otherwise and (surprisingly) found to be really fun. For me tracking works fine almost all the time, and occasional hiccups fix easily with ticket to support (which lately works really fast). Though lately rewards happened to be scarce and low. But for my kid that actually was worth it - he got some "free" cash to spend for games. :D

But my point was - some people actually might justify for themself using AM to cheat the system in that scenario. Risky, stupid, and totally wrong in my opinion, but..

As far as I know, cheaters are banned from using Playfire, so it's even more useless...

and people still cheat - same as in RL (insert eye-roll here)

Having 2000+ games is not a challenge?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, having 2,000+ paid games isn't really a challenge IMO; if you got the cash (and if you want to have games you'll never play), you can do it easily. Adding 150+ games via a script isn't a challenge, unless you consider opening the console a challenge.

I think people ask if stuff is "illegal" or gets you banned a bit too easy. But yeah, better safe than sorry.

Hmmm, didn't add any games to my account at all, I looked at my number on my profile before and after, and it was always 175.

I did redeem a bunch a couple of days ago, someone made a thread containing a list of the f2p games which did add to your number, but I didn't do ALL the f2p games.

Oh dear. Now I have way too many games. Time to brag.

I actually just did this for cheap EXP seeing as my friends list is almost full due to all the trading and whatnot.

Why would somebody want to increase game count? Sounds stupid. Is it for XP or something?

Can someone confirm a couple of things for us?
1) Does this leave residual entries in one's user library?
2) If it does, are those entries removable from the account page?
3) If they can be removed, is the associated xp gain removed with it?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

They won't be added to your library. They will just increase your game count and give you xp!

madjoki's improved script with all demos and F2P games (without trailers) with every package name commented: http://pastebin.com/XrdRWhKP (minified version).
The same thing but for trailers: http://pastebin.com/2jq3ume7 (minified version).

Can someone test if any trailer counts as a game and gives xp?

Thanks I had 183, I used method in this thread and now I used madjoki's and now I have 241.

Go to your account and check your licenses and subscriptions (that's the German name for it, the English one will be similar, I think). There you can remove all you free licenses from your account, you'll have to do it for every single game, though.

I wonder if Valve is gonna patch that exploit

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It not an exploit. It just a new method that Valve to record the free game we installed and played.

Valve certainly do not want to waste the opportunity to increase MMO free game in their store (Think about the micro transaction), and they need a way to manage the free MMO game for user.

BTW You can remove the free game that added this way too in account page. I wonder will it delete the EXP?
