What I'm really bad at is activating keys or getting my Kickstarter rewards. Your post reminded me that I probably didn't activate the original Pillars, which I backed, so I tried to find out how to do that without success. Good thing I have it on Twitch. (Not that I'm ever likely to play it.)

First at all: Welcome to Steamgifts!
Sadly I want the game to go to someone who is very likely to actually play and enjoy it. Since I haven't seen the first one or similar games in your list (of games you played on steam) I can't be sure you would enjoy it /: So I would rather make a fan of the series happy.
Anyways, maybe next time!

Greetings ! I would want to win and play this game because as of right now I'm really into real-time-strategy games. I've been playing a bunch of Heroes of Might and Magic III, but I played it so much, that right now I want something different. Maybe another HoMaM game, you'd ask. But rest of them are quite bad, I want to try out 5th, as it does look quite nice.
That's my reason :)

I understand.
I will look into that one, thanks for the tip!

First, I have to mention that I don't have internet at my home for last 6 months and I'm not really sure when I'll get it back. So I won't be able to play this game immediately if I win it.
As for my reasons for wanting a chance for this game:
1- I am a fan of old school infinity engine RPGs. I played and finished Icewind Dale I-II and Baldur's Gate 2
2- I have PoE II in my wishlist for almost 9 months now.
3- I played PoE and loved it. I will finish it when I have my internet back.
Also I only enter giveaways I want to play and my ratio isn't too bad.

I'd probably be a candidate for the game if you look at my library, i'm playing both PoE and tyranny. And i generally like genres that are slow like strategy games.
My win/giveaway ratio is horrible because i frequented this site when i was a student. Once my work life is more stabilized, i'll give some games here.
That said the main reason i'm commenting here is to ask how are the new turn based mechanics? IMO the worst part of pillars and tyranny is when i have to fight, it is relatively hard to keep up with the game so i have to pause a lot. I wonder if the turn based mechanics make the combat more engaging to me!

My main hobby is gaming and most of my close social circle has understood what it means to me.
So when growing up my friends and my family would usually either give me games or money to buy games (steam wallet, fnac gift card,etc.). Back in the 90s a games would be very expensive (usually around 60ā¬) but nowadays they usually so much cheaper specially with bundles that my gaming count has risen very quickly. A practical example, someone would give me 2 games (30ā¬ each), with steam, assuming most games on sale (=75%), that would be 6 games (10ā¬ each, base price 40ā¬). With bundles the numbers get really ridiculous...
If you read my profile you can see i'm a doctor however i still haven't been able to do a residency so i'm on a monthly contract. Since i can be fired at anytime I can't in my good conscience be giving games away because i need all the money i can save for surprise expenses such as my car breaking down or my parents getting sick. I hope that in the next few years i am able to get more stable job. If I had contract for 1 year or a residency i'd be able to give some games here.
Don't take the time and achievements too seriously in games with low requirements. Until i become a doctor and started earning money my Internet was crap and relatively limited, specially during my uni years. Where i had to download games from the library and play them at home offline. My computer was also crap because I didn't want my parents to spend money on a "useless" gaming PC ( i had a laptop 525 gtm with a crappy i5, nowadays bit by bit i have been upgrading everything and now i have a "powerful" desktop PC). This site, imo, shows my library better (http://www.steamcompletionist.net/76561198007264508/). Through if i took the time blacklisting all "crap" games from bundles I could probably heavily increase the red part and decrease the orange and blue.
I hope that gave a bit of a good insight into me.
Thank you for creating the giveaway of pillars. It is a really good game!

i think you misunderstood me. i'm not commenting for the giveaway. I barely enter giveaways nowadays.
I was wondering if someone did know how the turn based patch change the game.
sorry if you thought i was pushing you for a giveaway. Even if'd win POE2 now i'd only play it in 5-6 months. I'm buying 3k and imperator this year and those should last a while.

would love to have a chance to play this game. always been a fan of rpg, but sadly PoE is expensive for me.
idk if i qualify but thanks for considering!

Not applying for a blue heart, just wanted to say how impressed I am with your meticulous work put into answering and checking whether someone qualifies for this particular GA! I tip my hat to you, Sir!
Also happy to learn in this thread that PoE II has introduced a turn-based mode! It was the only thing keeping me away from PoE to begin with, so now I have to follow closely whether there is a chance they will patch the first game as well (although I won't get my hopes up too high). But it definitely will mean that PoE II will end up on my wishlist once I access Steam again. So thank you for that coincidental and fortunate information. :)

The key for this version wasn't cheap so I just want to make sure, that the key goes to someone who's very likely not to leave it as a simple +1 :P
and doing the checking half-assed wouldn't be much of a help with that.
I am certain there will be more GAs for this game in the future as it gets older and cheaper - maybe you will be lucky when time comes!

Oh, I do intend to buy it once it gets cheaper now that it has optional turn-based combat as I fell in love with the concept and the detail of the game, but simply never liked real-time combat, even with pause option. I am, after all, an old geezer and anything like RTS stresses me out and makes me click around wildly once the effects start piling up and I lose track of my mouse pointer and everything else... :D
Also, I wouldn't want to enter a GA that the creator so clearly has aimed at people who have either played the first part or have shown a clear and obvious interest for this genre, especially if he - like you - takes such care to hand pick the people he hopes will appreciate the game accordingly.
Personally, I have had my personal victory learning about the turn-based option - even if it still is in beta. But now the game is on my radar and will eventually be mine. :)

I am somewhere in my head planning another giveaway of this game (maybe not the Obsidian Edition though) in a more public way.
Probably over here - but not before May. Since I am planning some major investments in my real life before that, so you might want to keep your eyes open :P
You think you're clicking around wildly... You should try to watch me trying to play League of Legends... As soon as it gets hectic and busy in teamfights I am totally lost xD

Oh my Lord, you just evoked terrible memories of old.... DotA and LoL have consistently lead to dangerously elevated heart rates once the proverbial shit hit the fan. Couldn't see a thing for all the effects and then everyone started screaming and running and ... oh boy, here comes the PTSD!
Shall keep my eyes open, but honestly, I think I will in all likelihood end up buying the game anyway, once it goes on a considerable sale. I am not in a hurry (trying to lead a turn-based life) so I will wait for my opportunity. ;)

thanks for the ga, i had this game and other similar strategy games wishlisted but hadnt had any chance to own n try them yet. This year my parents were unemployed and we didnt get to travel back to meet relatives and to celebrate Lunar new year. Would love to play this game during this holiday peroid. also still spending most of my time playing dota2, would like a change of pace

Well, most of your time you say? I mean, pfff, just about 10k hours... that's decent man!
Sadly I can't find any real similiar games in your library and I ain't sure if you'd actually play and enjoy the game it is meant to /:
So sadly you will have to pass on this one, sorry! Maybe next time.
As you seem to celebrate it: Happy Lunar New Year! And best of luck and wishes to you, your parents and your family in general!

Have you ever tried loading a steam library in chrome with over 6.700 games? Jeeez.... xD
Can't believe you don't own it already :P
Even after waiting multiple minutes, google chrome was not amused.
I was disappointed when it finally showed me all the games, since your playtime is hidden. I can not check if you actually play similar games or just own/idle them, so I have no idea if you'd actually play and enjoy the game as it's meant to.
In conclusion you won't get the blue heart this time, sorry.
Maybe next time!

As you can see in the screenshot attached I can't see any playtime :/ In the URL you can see, that the list should be sorted by playtime, but I only get an A-Z sorting and no time shown at any game (scrolled through the whole list).
No idea if steam, chrome or your profile is bugging .-. Tried sorting it by name and back to playtime to refresh, yet no change..

I do believe you, sorry for the trouble though.
As you can see though, I can't see anything /:
It's probably either steam or google chrome not appreciating the sheer amount of games listed xD
Maybe next time. Sorry again for the trouble caused by this.

Iād like a chance to win because I would actually play the game if I win it.
You could consider adding me because I try to give away more games on SG than I receive. Or you could add me because Iām well-dressed.

While your ratio actually is alright, I can't find similar games in your library. You might have a few of them on your wishlist, but sadly due to the sheer amount of games on your wishlist, I asume you use it the same way I do - simply to keep track of GAs you're mildly intrested in on SG :P
Since I would prefer the game to someone where I am pretty sure that he/she will actually invest his/her time into and most likely enjoy it, I can't give you the blueheart this time, maybe next time. Sorry!
Comment has been collapsed.
If I'd have to take a guess after looking at your average playtime of games I assume that at least 600 of your wins on Steamgifts were not actually played. It seems like you're mainly entering GAs for collectors reasons.
While it's true that you have played the first one and basically would qualify, I guess, I will deny the blueheart due to the sheer amount of games you've won so far - especially considering your RealCV received, even if it's still a quite balanced ratio.
I hope you can understand /: Sorry
Comment has been collapsed.
Thank you, I am glad there are so many people liking it.
While your RealCV surely can be considered decent and you do give away a lot of quality games, I guess you can understand that you won't get a chance to enter this giveaway since you haven't even touched PoE in your library so far :P
Since I would like the game to go to someone who's very likely to play and enjoy it, it will be someone else who'll get lucky.
Your wishlist also looks like you rather use it to keep track of GAs on here... just like mine xD
Sorry, but I am certain you can understand! Maybe next time!
was just assuming you'd want to enter since you've commented on here :P

Sorry for the confusion. I was not asking to be added to anyone's whitelist (something I never do), nor was I interested in joining this particular giveaway. As you have already pointed out, I have yet to finish the first game. I simply commented because I appreciated your donation to our site. )
Comment has been collapsed.
You do have a lot of qualitiy donations yourself!
Also I am grateful for your work as a moderator to keep this site up and decent - as for all Mods on here (:
The whitelsit is rather used to make it some sorta invite only GA this time, so in this thread "applying" for a blueheart is more like asking me to check if I think I'd want them entering the GA.
No worries about the confusion though, I am also looking at the profiles of those who comment that say they don't want to enter, so it's fine - sometimes you will find a surprise :P
Maybe you will have finished the first one when the next GA shows up, who knows (:
Have a nice weekend!

I spent quite a few hours in Divinity (before my registration on Steam). Their purchase on Steam is a tribute to the developer.

Hi, I'm applying for WL membership -- my favorite games are BG, BG2, Mass Effect, The Witcher, and TES4: Oblivion. To tell you just how much I like BG / BG2, I got the D&D Anthology CD, then I got BGEE & Dragonspear on GOG (oh, and after finishing Oblivion on Steam, I decided to buy the DVD in case Steam ever went belly up!). I just finished White March pt 1, and am starting on part 2. Originally, the Stronghold / Keep in Pillars 1 made me so angry (I'm used to the strongholds from BG2, and from the DLC's for Oblivion), all those bandits attacking and taking the tax money regardless of how much Security I had -- I finished the game, then wrote a guide for the Stronghold with big warnings to stay away from it if people would just like to enjoy the game. White March is changing my mind about Pillars, and a friend told me Pillars 2 is way better -- they mentioned a pirate ship and the ability to be a pirate! In conclusion, I'd like a chance at Pillars 2, though I'd only enter after I finish WM 2 (since I'm sure you'd want whoever wins Pillars 2 to start playing it right away, and I'm a stickler for playing things in order :).

Can't find anything on steam in your library about PoE - neither Library nor Wishlist.. Can you provide any sort of evidence maybe? /:
Actually, I don't mind if the game is played right away or a few weeks or maybe months later - as long as it will be played and preferrably enjoyed :P
I haven't played PoE myself so I have no idea what you're talking about <3 :D No idea about "BG" either...^^
Comment has been collapsed.
I highly encourage you to try out BG (Baldur's Gate) when you get a chance, it's one of the best RPG's of all time (and then go on to play Baldur's Gate 2, which is the best RPG of all time imho)! :)
And evidence? What kind are you looking for? Unfortunately, I've yet to finish White March 2 to see whether to wishlist Pillars 2 -- after all, I'm super picky about my wishlist since awesome SG'ers will randomly gift me stuff on my wishlist, and I want to make sure that I will definitely play & appreciate any of their gifts! ^^
Your GA is really helping incentivize me to get through my backlog. :)
And evidence? What kind are you looking for? I just finished Dragon Quest XI: my achievements, search for "Saviour of All Erdrea" (which shows that I finished the game).
Additionally, I believe chocolate chunk is the best kind of cookie! <-- that will probably bar me from your WL completely
Edit: Well, I have finished White March 2, and I think I'm going to hold off on Pillars 2. Thanks for making such a generous GA though, I never would have finished White March without seeing it, to tell the truth.

Heya my dude, nice looking game.
I still have Baldurs Gate in the original box with the map and all, been playing these games since the 90's xD
All good either way, sooner or later I'll end up picking this one up as well.
Have a g1!

Totally understand, is no worries. I've got quite a backlog xD
The way I am as well, I would want to play the first one before playing the second, is just my nature. So yea, it would probably be a little while.
Anyways, thanks for the consideration and have a good one! =)

Hey,
honestly, I am bad at many things. 2 of them being threads and money management.
Let's get straight to the point.
I just talked to someone who got lucky a while ago and I thought, "hey, you should do a WL GA again... It's time.." - so yea.
Thanks to this person I got around to make another BLUE HEART GIVEAWAYYYYYYYYYYY dunno if naming the user would be considered as "calling out" and against the rules already?
The game being Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire - Obsidian Edition.
The giveaway is for bluehearts only.
Giveaway will be running until February, 10th - 9PM (CET)
So....
If you are not on my whitelist already, give me a reason to add you. Tell me why you want a chance to win this game. Any reason could be fine :P
Good luck (:
