Used to be internet explorer 11, now for months it's Firefox as I had all kind of problems with internet explorer 11 and captchas. I love Firefox for its ease of use, stability, enhanced privacy with ABP and it's light weight fingerprint.

So why exactly are you using Chrome then?

To be honest, testing. For far Firefox suits better for me.

I'm just curious. Many friends of mine use Waterfox because it's x64.
When Mozilla finally releases a x64 version, will people go back to Firefox?
(I don't have this problem since I have x64 version of Ubuntu)

Probably, I used waterfox 'cause Firefox kept freezing on 9gag and I wanted to try another browser :p

I use Firefox. I don't really get it why so many people like Chrome.

Firefox is:

  • Faster
  • Uses less RAM
  • Gives you a LOT more customization (especially with its add-ons)
  • Better privacy (Creators of Firefox care about your privacy, Google on the other hand makes money off of it)

I use it because of the seamless sync with my phone, I can't use Firefox on Android, it has horrible performance...

That's probably because Google is behind Android. They make other browsers run slow on android on purpose so everyone would use chrome.

Not really, Chrome still loads slow, but Firefox has scrolling on a 2009 level.

Probably because for a time Firefox started to lag behind everyone. Terrible security rating, gigantic memory usage, slow performance. It was when I abandoned it and switched to Chrome as secondary too. Now I'm slowly trying to find my way back to Firefox to be the secondary browser again.

Firefox doesn't use as much memory as chrome. Also it doesn't have slow performance, runs much better then Chrome for me.

Now, yes. Two years ago? FF was a slow memory hog. Something seriously outdated.
Since the chrome-ification of the UI and the update on the engine it performs better. The initial "new" version was still horrible (when it updated, it took almost ten seconds for me to start the damn thing even after a hard boot), but now I use it instead of Chrome as backup. Now Chrome is in the phase where it is getting more and more bloated at every release.

I tried Firefox, but Chrome starts a lot faster, has been more stable and I don't notice any difference in speed when surfing (if it's there, it's not big enough for me to notice, the difference in startup speed is noticeable though).

On a more subjective note, I find the interface a lot more appealing in Chrome.

For me the start-up speed is the same with both browsers. However Chrome loads websites slower and the scrolling on each page is slower and feels awkward. Firefox's scrolling on the other hand is much smoother and faster.

You can customize the interface in Firefox.

I haven't used IE in a very long time so can't comment on it. Haven't used Edge or Opera. I used Firefox for a long time in the past but now I have used Chrome for years. I think I prefer it. I tried Firefox again briefly awhile ago but there was something relevant which made me switch back to Chrome. Forgot what it was.

Firefox. Since version 1.5 is the only browser I use.
I would consider using other browser only if it was open-source.

I don't want these closed-source shit stealing my data.

I like Opera but, at the end, was too much hungry for ram. Chrome is the same + hungrier, so I'm with firefox because I don't know any alternative.

wat mate? Opera with 10 bookmarks on - less than 300mb. With basic addons for mouse gestures, adblock, magic actions. Chrome is hungry for sure. FF uses probably less than opera but does ~100mb matter this days?

I don't know, maybe it was my computer at the end or maybe I needed to reinstall opera... but, at the end, Opera was extremely slow and heavy. Maybe I try again

I feel offended by what Opera did to their browser when dropping Presta. Tried Vivaldi?

I used to love Opera, but then they crapped all over the browser when switching rendering engine. I recently decided to give Vivaldi a chance at being my primary browser, and haven't regretted so far. Sure, it lacks polish here and there, but after all, it is still a pre-release test version. I have high hopes for it in taking Opera's old place.

I'm still waiting for a "final" release on Vivaldi. Tried it, but felt awkward and sluggish. Still, the old Opera feel is strong. If it gets proper polish and enough extensions, I barely wait to make the switch.

Firefox! Faster, easier, and better in every way. I haven't used Chrome for very long, but from what I've seen, Firefox is better for me.
