How about Superlux HMC 631?
Best headset for games and listening music for 40€ as they sound like the more expensive ones. Sound is clear and neutral. If you want you may also use additional sound card like some Xonar to use its full potential and get even more impressive audio quality. Also mic is really good quality, it's solid with nice noise canceling.

I have Razer Kraken and SteelSeries Siberia V2. My first was SS but i used also to run so one time i had an accident and they broke on the side. Still work but now i only use them on street/gym. By far the most comfortable headset i used until now. Razer Kraken i bought after like a year ago and couldn't be happier with the quality of the headset. Not so comfortable as SS but the sound quality doesn't even compare, i don't even use columns during day i just let the headset on.

The GX-Gaming Cavimanus is a cheap headset with 7.1 surround sound, high definition audio, a foldable microphone that mutes when it is up for convenienve, is comfortable, looks good, has a good quality mic, and has a vibration function for bass so it makes gaming and listening to music more immersive. I highly recommend this headset. I have had it for 2 years and have had no problems whatsoever as well.

My Sennheiser HD555 headphones is around 6 years old now and although the frame have started to crack (my fault) they still sound like new.
I have no idea how good their microphones are but I'm guessing they are just as good as my headphones.. because why wouldn't they be? ;)

hyperx cloud FTW.
1)good sound quality
2)good mic quality
3) lots of accessories
4) material quality is good
5) very light and comfortable
definitely better than steelseries siberia v2 (used both)
just wait for good amazon discounts (like %70-75)

Just buy some $5 earbuds from Ebay. Those $40 headsets don't really have any difference in quality.
Anything more expensive than this is stupid, unless you are an audiophile.
Edit: And to be clear, not the type of audiophile that uses Youtube and mp3 songs.

Sorry to hear you're so unlucky. In my opinion audio quality for videogames is as important as video quality.
Not much experiece with headsets as I prefer to detach the microphone when it isn't needed.
Tried only Steelseries Siberia v2 and they were an interesting product (listening to music, dunno about mic performance)
My current setup (one and half year old):
ESI Prodigy X-Fi NRG
Superlux HD-681 Evo
a Modmic-alike I built myself (about 2€ mic and sounds great for gaming)

As a rule of thumb, any headset "designed for gamers" is overpriced shit (as well as any computer parts).
I always go with Sennheiser for headphones personally (also use one Bose but that was a gift), and with Onkyo (aka Wavio) for sound cards/amplifier.

I use a combination of good headphones with a clip-on microphone
The headphones are these: Superlux HD-668 B Studio (quite cheap and apparently from china, yet very good sound quality. They also have a replaceable cord - that's what breaks the fastest from my experience).
As a clip-on microphone I use one that was quite expensive one from Sony (but I got it from my uncle for free). One I see often recommended is the Zalmann ZM-1, which seems to work alright and is also fairly cheap.
I always wanted a good Headphone in a headset which I can use in multiple occasions and I didn't wan't to pay extra for it being a headset. Something I'm always eyeing is this product here: Modmic but I'm skeptical of attaching a strong magnet to a good headphone and it's not so cheap since I had to import it here...
I guess if I needed to buy a microphone nowadays I would go for a good to OKish USB-microphone to put on the table. These have good amplification with low noise and you don't have the problems withe the additional cord. While they do look stylish they can be quite expensive, therefore I would go for a Samson Go Mic USB which is supposedly quite good, yet not too pricey and actually quite small in comparison to other table microphones.
Also have a look at this: DIY Mic Mod

I have two Creative Fatal1ty headsets that have held up quite well for me for years. I'm pretty sure that the HS-1000 (which uses a USB connector and its own built-in sound processor) is discontinued, but the HS-800 is still available, and is fairly inexpensive. I found them to be a bit tight initially, but they're comfortable once they break in, and the mic quality is excellent.

after all, I bought Razer Kraken USB today... They were cheap + they are working :) I will add some of you to whitelist for helping and I will figure out what I will give away :)

I have a Sennheiser PC 8 USB headset because i damaged my 3.5 mm jack. Same Sennheiser PC 3 with 3.5mm jack was cheaper, but same quality. So better go for 3.5mm.
Mine lacks the bass effect for music, but is pretty good for casual gaming.

Are the only headsets you are trying USB headsets?

I have a headset with the most stupid name ever*: Turtle Beach Ear Force Z2. And it's actually really good. Best headset in the ~30€ range I've ever used at least. Friends claim that I sound like myself when using this, which is always a plus.
*Might not actually be the most stupid name ever.

I use a kingston hyper X cloud for head phones... Haven't used the mic on it, as I use a Blue Snowball mic. But the head set itself is nice and comfy, with great sound quality.

I am sure you tought it is another discussion about not winning anything. Aaand, you were wrong. Sorry :(
I just want to say my story about gaming headphones sets. They don't like me... Nope, they just don't...
I have whole new computer since Christmas (and it was build to play Assassin's Creed Unity.... Guess what. Yeah, Unity is not working on my pc :D lol. It can run fucking Watch Dogs on high, AC IV: Black Flag on ultra, but fucking Unity has lags on minimal. FUCK YOU UBISOFT) well, back to the topic.
First time, I bought some Biohazard headset. Microphone was so bad, people just heard cracling and weird sounds but no my voice, so I got my ass up and went back to the shop and changed it for another one.
These second ones has microphone turned around, so I was talking to back of that microphone and the side I was supposed to talk into was whole covered, so my voice sounded like miles away from microphone. I changed these too for better.
Third gaming headset from Logitech G230, whole new, much more expensive, so I tought it will be better. , again, microphone not working! I bough them today as my birthday gift. And microphone is silent, like it was not plugged in or muted, but I checked both.
So after these experiences I decided that gaming headphones sets are not for me. But I just want to ask you, what kind of headset you have, your review, so I can decide to buy maybe the first lucky headphones set, which would actually has a working microphone.
thank you for reading it to this point, sorry for bad english! And if you helps me, I will add you to whitelist and when I find gaming headphones set, I will crate whitelist members only giveaway. Enjoy, good luck in winning, have better luck than me :D
No need to comment more, I bought razer kraken usb, they are working fine ^^
