Do you listen music while you play games? What kind of music?

If the game is not story line heavy I often have a playlist of for example omfgcata or TB open on 2nd display.
Only if I play something that needs my attention all the time, like DoTA, I listen to some chillstep or something.

I like to hear peaceful songs while killing people in FPSs...
Now this is a really paradox.

I mostly listen to in-game music but I've started to listen to a lot of indiepop (think shoegaze and ambient) while playing Rogue Legacy. I guess depends on how bored I am of the soundtrack and if I get bothered by the music.

Only when I play race and fighting games after some times when I'm tired of in game music. Heavy Metal!

I always have the radio on or playing trough a playlist while driving my truck during a rainy night in Euro Truck simulator 2. Makes me chillax.

Edit: As we are talking about music my right speaker on the headphone stops working. And of course in frustration I rip the wire that goes from the headset to pc in two. It was a cheap headset though. Had trouble with it for some days now. Now I need to buy a new one. Crap.

Listening to music while gaming makes you more unconcentrated. So just Domian (Talk Radio, no music) for me playing euro truck sim 2, not playing take on helicopters, SMB, BOI, other simulators / platformers. At simulators and platformers I need full concentration. Ò.Ó

Unless it's a game that's story heavy, i.e. spec ops, system shock 2 etc...., I pretty much always listen to music while playing games. I have a pretty good mix of genres in a playlist, but that sometimes leads to me playing victoria 2 and listening to public enemy at the same time.

it works shockingly well

Almost always listen to the in-game soundtrack. Some exceptions are fighting, racing, and arcade games. Also anything with an in-game radio that can use my music library.

Depends on the game.
While playing Trackmania or Binding of Isaac (after 80 hours) I'm listening to my playlist,
which includes just Volbeat song at the moment.

Yeah, Digitaly Imported internet radio + few games. Yeah that I love. But it depends on the game.
Such as Planetside 2, TF2, Beat Hazard are suitable to music in background. But trying it with Arma 2, Red Orchestra 2, War Thunder it have been stupid
