I own Max Payne (non steam), considering getting it on steam, what do you think?
Edit: My AC collection is uplay only though (same with splinter cell)

Most of the time it will be copies from bundles. The move from GFWL to Steam also gave me some duplicate games. I wouldn't easily buy the Steam version of a game I own.

GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, Max Payne, Max Payne 2, System Shock 2, and probably a few others I don't remember off the top of my head, with all but SS2 being on the PS2. I also have almost all of the available Final Fantasy and Hitman games on my wishlist even though I already own many of them on console.

The reasons for this are twofold. First, these are some of my favorite games and I don't mind giving the developers more money in the hopes of getting more of the same (though I should note that I always buy them on sale . . . so much for integrity of principle!). And second, I used to be a console guy for a good long while, but a few years back I switched over to almost exclusive PC gaming, so having these games on the platform I now use the most is much more convenient for me.

Nope, never. If a game is available retail or at least elsewhere (that I like) digitally, I avoid Steam. OK, to be fully honest, if I have a digital game on a console and Steam is the only PC option, then yes I might get it for it as well.

Only if I already own it on something other than a modern digital platform. If I have a hard copy on PC, or have it on a console, I'll consider buying it on Steam, for the right price. But if there's no compelling reason to re-purchase it, no.

Max Payne, for example, was a game I played a pirated copy of on PC years and years ago, and then played the sequel on PS2. I think I still have it in the garage, but I'd still consider getting both games again on Steam for the right price.

Depends, sometimes old versions won't work and the user patches don't work that well. If the Developer fixes it up for Steam and adds new content and is a game I really liked, yes I would rebuy it. It was cheaper to rebuy Valkyria Chronicles on Steam with all the DLC then it was to buy the DLC alone for the PS3 version I have.

I had Darksiders, Alan Wake, Borderlands and some other games on Xbox and have them on Steam now, but I think Borderlands was the only of these games I actually bought via Steam and not bundle sites (still -75%) , not too sure though.

Only if I feel like re-playing the game. I had finished Max Payne 1 on the PS2 but bought it again on Steam together with Max Payne 2 and played them in order. It was fun, the game is better on PC.

I've bought games on Steam that I used to own but don't any more like FFVII since my brother sold all of my old playstation games (the bastard!) but I don't think I have anything on Steam and another service unless it was part of a bundle or I got it for free. I have Torchlight 2 on Steam and GOG because they were giving it away on GOG a while back. Ialso have one of the Sam & Max games on both platforms because it was in a Telltale bundle.

Only under very rare circumstances, where the Steam game might be an upgrade from the console. Ex: Spelunky.

No. If I already have it it means I have it drm-free, and drm-free > drm-steam. What about the opposite question? Do you guys buy drm-free version of a game if you already own it on Steam?

What if you owned a game on Origin and could buy it on Steam without Origin? As example I present you Dragon Age or Burnout Paradise.

I did with some games like Star Wars Battlefront 2 (already owned it on ps2), but reason is I don't have the ps2 setup. If you mean if I buy Watch_dogs on Steam, because I only have the Uplay version than no.

I have been known to buy steam games of titles I own on a console...Mainly if my friends play it on steam, and it's co-op...Normally I prefer console gaming though(Except for MMORPGs, RTS and point and click adventures of course.

No, unless I get it from a bundle and I REALLY like it...but I've done the opposite....F.E.A.R. drew me in so much that I went and bought it on PS3, I got Master Reboot on PS3 after playing it on Steam too...

If it's been a long time since I last played it and want to play it again, yes. I only play PC games, so the games I do buy again are from years ago when I only played on PS3.

Depends on how much I like the game(s) and if you can mod them.

Lets see if this tells you anything. I've got 3 copies of Mass Effect and ME2 for the 360, PS3, and PC and two copies of ME3 for the 360 and PS3. And should they remaster the game for the next gen consoles, I'll probably end up buying that too. (Only reason I don't have a third copy of ME3 is because I'm still resisting Origin. I'll break soon when DAI goes on sale for a good deal, but still resisting hard.)

But yeah. I /never/ ever ever ever ever and I must emphasize ever buy the second and third copy at full price. Always when they're on sale - or if they're part of a subscription service (xbox Live Gold or PSNetwork). I would absolutely /die/ if I bought something I already owned at full price for a second or third time.

Origin is not that bad. As long as you use it more or less as an extended game launcher and nothing else as the client isn't that terrible nowadays. Also, they have a really good support.
For anything else? Nope.

Still… a LOT better than UPlay.

I know. I just dread the thought of downloading another client to my computer. I'm running out of space as it is. [Small hard drive and older computer.]

But oh definitely. I would never download UPlay. I feel bad for those that have to.
